Pardon me for making this topic, but may I ask what the general consensus of the community is in regards to Brandy & Mr. Whiskers? My Talkback threads haven’t really been that successful recently, though I’ve noticed most Talkbacks have been relatively unpopular and considering Brandy & Mr. Whiskers’ poor timeslot, I can only assume that there are a plethora of reasons that my Talkbacks have failed. However, since it seems that nobody really discussed the quality of the recent episodes, I figured it would be more appropriate to directly discuss the series, so perhaps some users of the community can reply to this topic with their thoughts on the series, as I’m really curious as to what the general consensus of the community is on the subject.
As for me, I’ve seen a lot of animated programs on many networks, including many very popular anime such as Fooly Cooly and Trigun, and while I love those two programs, I personally believe Brandy & Mr. Whiskers is one of the best animated programs on television, if not the best. I suppose I’m unique in my feelings and that the series is relatively frowned upon for a reason, though I’ve enjoyed watching nearly every single episode of Brandy & Mr. Whiskers and I’ve really been enjoying the second season of the series for the most part, though it pains me greatly as I know that there are many users on the internet who have done nothing but bash the series and complain about its very existence. I suppose I’m just digressing though; I know people are permitted to dislike programs, though sometimes I wish people would have an open mind about things.
Anyway, I’ve heard that Toonzone used to have some fairly good Brandy & Mr. Whiskers talkbacks, though I might have been given somewhat false information. Still, I suppose there is a chance that this site may actually have some fans of the series as users, though even if you’re not a fan of the series, feel free to reply to this topic and express your thoughts on the series. Brandy & Mr. Whiskers doesn’t really get talked about that often and since I’m curious as to what the consensus of the community is on the subject, I’m hoping that people will actually take the time to share their thoughts on the quality of the series.
You have my sincere thanks in advance, even should you choose not to reply to this topic, though I’m hoping people will actually share their thoughts as I wish to know what people feel about my favorite series… I already have a feeling that this discussion may not turn out so well, though I suppose that it’s worth a shot at least.

Ah, well thanks for replying none-the-less. I was afraid that this topic would suffer the same fate as my recent Talkbacks. The second season has indeed been quite entertaining, though I believe some of the episodes could have been much better in certain areas. I particularly love the new house design for the second season, but I suppose I shouldn’t venture into the realm of spoilers and so forth.

I'm a fan of the show, too. I just don't really have much to say about it. Plus, if I do see the new episodes, it's always late, because yeah the time slot is horrible. By the time I catch up with my tivo or see it a new episode in a repeat showing, it seems like its too late to talk about it.
For the record, my favorites moments of the new season so far: the fish-slap fight in Loathe Triangle, the Happy Love Clowns in What Price Dignity, and Whiskers tasting the snail slime in You've Got Snail.

My favorite moment was when that big tapir, or whatever he was, was promoting Whiskers.
"Do you enjoy making employees do mind numbing busywork only to treat them with SCORN?!"
"Do I!"
"Welcome to the club!"
I hope this show gets a whole 65 episodes.

I've seen a couple of episodes of this show, and I must say it's VERY diffrent from the Disney cartoons I grew up with (Goof Troop, Duck Tales, etc).
Some episodes are a bit funny while others are downright horrible. I really can't stand Mr. Whiskers. He seems like a vulguar version of Roger Rabbit. And the creators must've put him in the show so they can make tasteless jokes of body odor, snot and other stuff. The animation and character designs are intresting and a bit diffrent from other Disney cartoons. So, overall; it's a OK show, but it could've been better in many ways.

I agree with all your points. In fact, Mr. Whiskers looks like Stimpy and Roger Rabbit's love child; in fact I suspect he was designed that way purposely, and I can't say I like it. He's got a good voice and a decent personality (aside from the tiresome vulgarity) but I can't get past his lousy character design I'm afraid. Brandy, on the other hand, has a very good design and a great voice. And the supporting cast (the toucans, the snake, and the otter) are a good group. All in all it's not a bad cartoon. But unfortunately its weaknesses are serious enough that I just can't get into it. Too bad.

At my opinion, the creators need real Animtion 101 class or learn more about animations because you don't have access in a real cartoon, but a garbage. Get play outside instead to waste your time to watch TV kids! :p

I don't think there's really a need to be that harsh, though I respect your opinion none-the-less. I know Brandy & Mr. Whiskers may not be the best cartoon and I know the nature of Mr. Whiskers' character may cause some people to dislike the series, though I honestly believe that this series is one of the better things I've seen on television. I know the gross-out humour needs to stop and that the content of Mr. Whiskers' character needs to expand, but when one takes the time to analyze the base details of the series, it's really better than most people give it credit for. This series has had some excellent plots and while some of them have been cliché, this series tends to have unique twists in their episodes in order to keep even the most cliché plots refreshing, for the most part anyway. I suppose I shouldn't keep rambling on, though perhaps I'll write up another article to express my thoughts on the series in a more direct fashion.

Me, I'd be happy if Whiskers got a makeover. That egg-shaped head with two noodly ears scribbled on it is just awful. It's not a funny design, it's not a cute design, it's just bad design. If Diz would do that PLUS spare us the snot jokes I'd like the show a LOT better.

Well, I can’t say that I’ve seen any problems with Mr. Whiskers’ character design, apart from a few episodes where the animation was handled poorly, which caused complications with his facial expressions. Regardless, I agree with you that the gross-out humour needs to stop, which would include snot jokes. Fortunately, the second season hasn't been as bad with that sort of thing as the first season was, though I cannot deny the fact that there have been some crude jokes this season, but nothing's perfect in life.
Hmm, that brings up a different point. Have you seen any episodes of the second season yet?

I'm not sure. I saw one recently where Brandy and Whiskers get an Extreme Makeover for their house. It was a pretty good ep actually. Is that second season?

Yes, the episode you’ve mentioned was “Jungle Makeover”, which was paired with “Get a Job” and it served as the season premiere for the second season. I was personally discontent with “Get a Job”, though “Jungle Makeover” was an episode that I really enjoyed and I liked seeing Brandy and Whiskers redesign their tree house at the end of the episode. My favorite episodes this season have been the romantic themed episodes, such as “Wolfie: Prince of the Jungle” and “Loathe Triangle”, though I suppose I’m once again rambling on about unimportant and trivial factors.
Anyway, the second season is going to continue to air through the month of April, though I’m not sure how many more new episodes in the second season are left to be seen.

I agree with you. Yet The Fairly OddParents was a terrible gross-out humor too.
Honnestly, i already believe than this show was not worse at all. I search the best informations possible about that, pictures and stuffs but without success. But it's during a Tiny Toon episode that i realised that i was wrong and considered like my swear enemy. Maybe i was too mature to be addicted of that?
