Eh... Comedy Central doesn't care what celebrities think about their programs.
They'll air it again sooner or later.

so thats why the scientology episode wasn't aired like it was supposed to. cruise and hayes need to get over it. i thought they were originaly airing it just to annoy isaac hayes for leaving the show. oh well, i think i know what all south park fans need to do now: lock our selves inside tom cruise's closet and not come out until he stops being a jerk over this episode. i can't wait for the upcoming episode about tom cruise doing a similar action, maybe cruise stops a terrance and phillip episode.

That episode, because of all the controversy, arguably one of the most popular episodes and easily available for download everwhere on the net. Not arguing the morality of making easily available for download, just to point that supressing something usually doesn't work especially on the net. It is like how Scientology tried to suppress another webpage criticial of them, and that page became the most mirrored webpage on the web for some time.

Nice going, Cruise! Lose even more respect than the ones you've already lost! I wouldn't be surprised if this move would be the ultimate career loss!

Maybe the success of his movies were due to loyal fangirls?
I still think his luck will run out eventually.

AS THE creators have commented:
he may have won the battle, but this is only the start of the million year war
this will only make the episode more popular, and cruise easier to insult. the best part is when they explain the scientology and have "this is actually what they believe"

By "his movie" are we referring to War of the Worlds? Because I really don't think anyone saw that as a Tom Cruise movie. They saw it as a Steven Spielberg movie, and a remake of a well-respected old movie. I know I sure as heck wouldn't boycott it just because I'm upset at the main actor in it.

"So, Scientology, you may have won THIS battle, but the million-year war for earth has just begun! Temporarily anozinizing our episode will NOT stop us from keeping Thetans forever trapped in your pitiful man-bodies. Curses and drat! You have obstructed us for now, but your feeble bid to save humanity will fail! Hail Xenu!!!"

Even if you don't agree with him, you have to respect Cruise for being... resourceful.

Yeah, but at the same time, you have to disrespect him for being petty and small-minded. He's also deluded if he thinks that will settle the issue. The publicity campaign for Mission Impossible 3 won't last forever; soon enough, he won't have any way to pressure Comedy Central, and Matt & Trey have long memories. When Season 10 starts, it's gonna be open season on Scientology.

I'm really not sure what to think of all this. To be honest, it smells a little like a publicity stunt.
We have Comedy Central pulling the episode, then they issue a statement claiming they wanted to put a couple of Chef-centric episodes in it's place, as a farewell to Isaac Hayes (why reward someone who is being a hypocritical jackass?).
Then, word gets out that Tom Cruise is pulling some hissy-fit star crap, which his handlers compltely dismiss as not factual in any way.
This is followed by a flippant press statement by Parker/Stone that doesn't sound the least bit serious.
It all seems a little too contrived to me. With a new season of South Park starting soon, it's a good way of tying a blurb about the show into a mention of the 'controversey' (which is exactly what I saw in the New York Times this morning).
If it is a publicity stunt, it's kind of a clumsy one. Coming on the heels of the South PArk 'controversey' surrounding that recent film about faking in the special olympics (which I also labeled a publicity stunt on the part of the movie studio), it seems like they would try to do a better job of it.

Hey Cruise, you got bigger problems now that Scary Movie 4 is coming out in April. You've also created free media on South Park where as more people would be interested in controversy. You better watch it, Cruise. You just might end up on Spooky Vision.:D

After taking a few minutes to read the utter garbage that Scientolgy is (according to Wiki anyway), I'm with TnP on this one.
I meen, they even went and made themseves out like Dasterdly evil vilian types, you've gota respect that.
Cruse is just having a flippin' hissy fit.
I'm really not sure what to think of all this. To be honest, it smells a little like a publicity stunt. It really has to be.
A South Park episode which got a lot of attention being "pulled" (and being announced that it was pulled) by a man who right before his last movie opened proposed to popular actress and denounced mental illness on television. Parker and Stone would be a little, mad if this whole thing weren't just publicity, wouldn't they? I mean not a "lol, well, you got us!!" response I would imagine...
