Toon Disney last sunday just reaired The Final battle! So, since they did that does that mean we can see Season 2 soon?

Yeah, unfortunately, we haven't had any news of the second season except that it IS coming in 2006. The world wonders when that will ever be...

Anyone know if Season 2 has actually aired anywhere yet?

It aired already in the country it came from.

Ummm....Do you mean France? 'Cause they haven't even finished animating all the episodes yet. I'm pretty sure season 2 hasn't shown anywhere. Witchinsider, can you shed some light? Thanks!

Yeah, the comics do. But SIP in France is animating the show iteration of WITCH.

As far as I know, no one has gotten the second season yet. This is Ed, Edd, and Eddy all over again...

I concur with Nick here. I'm currently working at SIP Animation on W.I.T.C.H. and I can confirm that the second season hasn't aired anywhere yet. It will indeed be completed this year, but I can't give any specifics since air dates are up to the broadcasters, not the producer.

Sorry! I'm just used to shows finishing their second season by the time we finish our 1st.

 I didn't know WITCH was another French Animation. I'll have to ask around the Yumi forum to see if/when they have seen it. Would that be on France3? I've been having trouble getting that site to load for me lately. Is there a Sip site like MoonScoop has?

As far as I know, no one has gotten the second season yet. This is Ed, Edd, and Eddy all over again... Did that happen too? We fended off rumors of Code Lyoko season2 being aired in France for a year before it was finished.

I believe that W.I.T.C.H. is produced with the American market either foremost or on even terms with the European one. So I do not expect that it has aired elsewhere. I imagine that SIP attends principally to animation duties while the writing staff is, wholly or predominantly, American, so the English language version will be likely be first That depends, I should think, on how quickly the company goes about the translation and voice recording for other langauges. Of course, when the English version really airs is indeed at the discretion of the broadcasters, regardless of how soon the season is actually finished.

I suspect that, however, Greg Weisman and the other American staff are employed through SIP rather than Disney, which allows Disney to employ their services without having to provide various labor benefits. The previous producers worked under such an arrangement (the disadvantages of which are noted on pages 259, 266-267 of Nicholls' book (http://www.nichollsvickers.com/valuable_lessons_edit.pdf)) and it would comport with Mr. Weisman's statement here (http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?rid=430)that the job was non-union.

SIP has a website (http://www.sipanimation.com/flash/eng/lanceur.html)with a trifling of fluff about the series. There isn't anything really indicative of an airing date.

I admit to considerable interest and eagerness for the series to air on my part. I found myself enjoying the first season far more than I would have expected, especially the voice cast, and given my recent renewed enthusiasm for Gargoyles (happens every few years or so), I'm eager to enjoy more of Mr. Weisman's work, especially in light of how warmly he has spoken of the creätive freedom he has had and the apparently very cordial relationship with his boss at SIP.

It *seems most actual air dates are left for the actual networks to announce and very little is gained from the producers. MoonScoop and France3 had it off by months. Also once a show has been aired in the US as a primary market it *seems that it is shown here first with only a slight lag in the original country.
(* I only have one show to go by so a trend is questionable)

I was hoping the Sip site may have some extras, MoonScoop was loaded, and sometimes amazing things would slip out through side contractors. But you need connections to find those.

I would expect the each voice dub to be done by separate studios but would expect the writers to be closly aligned with the principal animator, leaving the general inbetween to be in China.

But 'sometime this year' makes me believe the second season won't hit the US before Jetix leaves ABC Family. If the new episodes premiere exclusively on Toon Disney, that'll suck real bad, as many people, including myself, don't have it.

Before anyone suggets Disney Channel... we've got no guarantee they'll be an immediate replacement for ABC Family in that respect. I'm not even sure what the DC ratings have been since it premiered there two months ago, so we can't say with certainty WITCH will still be there in the fall (or later).

I would suspect that Jetix will begin airing W.I.T.C.H. season 2 when the fall line-up debuts if it hasn't debuted by May.

While it will likely premiere on the Jetix programming block on Toon Disney, the fact that the Disney Channel is showing W.I.T.C.H. on weekends means that when Season 2 starts we may see it on the Disney Channel--hopefully paired with the new season of Kim Possible!
