I was at the comic book shop earlier, and was talking to a good friend of mine, and keep in mind, he is scatter brained, but he made one statement I had to ask here,

What if DC is trying to copy itself and start a DCAU2 like when BTAS started, it lead to the DCAU, what if The Batman does similiar?

it seemed plausible at the time, but, then again, we were discussing something something stupid at the time

Well, BTAS wasn'ta ctually planned to start a DCAU, it was just so successful that eventually it and STAS combined to form the AU.

Considering the inconsistent quality of "The Batman" I'm not sure if there is enough popularity to jumpstart an AU.

I could be wrong of course, but I don't see "The batman" starting anything really....once it hits the 52 episode rule.

I feel like this has come up before, but I highly doubt it is some kind of orchestrated plan. Regardless of what one perceives to be the quality of The Batman, it was started to introduce Batman's world to a new audience (and sell toys of course), not to sustain the same world of characters for the next 15 years.

With the new superman movie coming out, plus those images we saw of supposedly proposed new superman cartoon art, i would say if a new supes cartoon does come out, he'll probably meet up with The Batman at some point.

I hope that either a) it stays in it's own universe because College Station doesn't get Kid's Wb! Can you believe that? I saw the beginning of it while living in Pheonix and it was okay but no jump start a universe material. or b) it is released on dvd more quickly so people could know what is going on in the dcau. I don't honestly think it is popular enough to make a new dcau.

I don't think Warner is interested in an interconnected superhero universe at this point.

The only Superman show in the works, to my knowledge, is Superboy and the Legion (I believe this may be the rumored "Superman" series for KidsWB).

There was a scene (I think it was the Firefly episode) where a man in a car remarked, "I'm moving to Metropolis!"

I think this was the setup for a "The Superman" show.

I don't think so. I would think it to be nothing more than a cursory "wink-nudge" reference for those with a rudimentary knowledge of basic DC geography, i.e. if there's a Gotham City, there's probably a Metropolis somewhere. Back in S:TAS, Lois sarcastically referred to herself as Wonder Woman at one point and I certainly don't recall that being the basis for a Wonder Woman series.

Shut up with this "The Superman" crap. Even if there ends up being a superman show by the makers of the Batman it won't be called "The Superman". Has Superman ever even been called "The Superman?" I don't know but i don't think so. I do know that Batman has been known as The Batman as well as just Batman forever. Hell when he first showed up onm Batman TAS he is called The Batman. Sorry but people are blowing "The" out of propotion to the point where it is The most annoying thing ever.

Yin was a cop in Metropolis before she transfered to Gotham... maybe that's where she's at considering she just dropped off the face ofthe Earth after Gordon decided to pick up the Bat Signal and she was pretty much replaced by Batgirl.

"The" Superman is just something that people have used to relay a new generation Superman cartoon. I don't believe anyone actually thinks that such a show would be called "The Superman." There is no fight here, despite your attempt at picking one (just who is blowing things out of proportion here?). It's quicker and simpler than saying "A Superman show in the style of The Batman" isn't it?

I admit I am making something out of nothing. It's just it annoys me thats all. Not trying to start a fight I just needed to get that off my back forever.
