I just hope they never make a TV series of this.
It'd be boring as hell.
A movie or OVA would be the only way to do this series properly.

uhh yea...
Oh, looks like they're taking a horror-ish angle....
Can anyone tell what those things that flash by are?
Speaking of which, what are the odds of this coming to America?

Speaking of which, what are the odds of this coming to America? If it does good in Japan, WB might localize it with big time american actors like how, the Grudge, ring and dark water where done. That would be interesting.

I wonder how they'll animate the dark creature (it's name escapes me at the moment).

Ryuk, that's his name.

Well, he did... (the other thing that flashes by is just a dying flower)
EDIT: It took me almost five minutes, but I finally managed to get a capture of the first face that flashes by. (for some reason, whenever I captured the video, the face wan't there)

It's either L from a diffrent angle or someone else.

Woah, those are L's eyes? Scary.
I hope Ryuk doesn't look too bad...
On another note:
What the heck's wrong with Light's head? It keeps spazzing out.

Well, it certainly is a teaser.
And yeah, a Death Note TV series would probably be too hard to keep fresh. Kind of like the manga itself.
Still. Looking forward to this thing, for now.

Ryuuk scared the crap out of me. 0_0 I wasn't expecting him in the trailer. Otherwise, he looks exactly as he should. (can't say the same for Misa)

A new trailer's out for anyone that wants to see it. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCpRdFZJTuU) The movie looks pretty good, Ryuk actually looks kinda creepy here.

I'm afraid to look. (I've had to turn on the light when I get up to use the bathroom, because that CGI Ryuuk scares me so much. I mean it. I'm terrified of it)
Can someone summarise the trailer?

Like the one I posted before it, only it has a few shots of Light walking in the street with Ryuuk above him, Light writing with Ryuuk eating an apple behind him. A few more shots of the police, few shots of the new character and Light's family. Random people trying to attack some girl and they get heart attacks, news cuts, longer scene with the fake L talking. At the end when Ryuuk says "Humans are interesting..." he gets two more lines and it shows him full bodied and talking to the viewer.
But yeah...they did a good job on making him look creepy.
Anyway, I've heard that this movie is being licenced like mad. (a bunch of European countries are trying to get it now, too)
I wonder what the odds of a stateside release are? (considering that the Death Note manga is probably more popular in America than Germany)

It'll probably come to America in one form or another, either as a redone version with American actors ala The Ring or as a DVD with subs, since it's from WB, they'll probably release it if demand is high enough.
Chairman Kaga! Nice to see him get work after Kitchen Stadium closed down.

I jumped when I saw Ryuk. Talk about nightmare fuel.....
If anyone hasn't seen it, the PV (music video) for "midsummer night's dream" (the song) has some new footage in it, too.
Oh, and the "Bang. I just killed you" scene is in there. (L seems a bit hyper in that scene)

Death Note is one of my favorite mangas of all-time. It's so horrific, but yet so addicting. I love reading it before I go to bed... ;)
Anyways, I had no clue that they were making a movie on it. As I've heard there's no anime. Every great anime starts with a good movie... Sometimes...

An anime series for Death Note was announced (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=8874) last month.

0o;; Ooh, now I have to read this manga. (I think these trailers'd be better without the Red Hot Chili Pepper song but whatev. -_-) But still... Dammit, now I really want to read this series! Even though that, what is it, Ryuk? That thing scared me. Bad.
