Welcome Toonami Faithful,
On behalf of Jim Harvey (Dick Grayson), Matt Wilson and Calhoun and the entire Toon Zone team, I'd like to welcome you to the new CNX: Toonami board. My name is Vincent Benenati. Some of you may know me from the CNX: Revolution Boards as Rembrandt 00. Jeff decided a few months back that he was going to move his Toonami board here. Unfortunately, he disappeared and hasn't been around for several weeks now. We've decided to open it without him, but when he returns, he will once again be in charge of this board. You can continue to post on the other CNX Boards, in addition to this one, as we are not in competition with one another. Please feel free to post on any show related to Toonami right here.

For those of you who have just joined us from the Revolution boards, please read the rules (http://forums.toonzone.net/misc.php?s=&action=showrules) before posting. We also have a great general topics forum called AniGen, which is similar to Outside the Absolution for those of you who are visiting from CNX. Anyway, please respect one another and have a great time.

Agreed VinceA. I'm familiar with all of you already, so that's pretty cool. Whatever happened between people at CNX: Revolution Boards stays there. No need to bring any of that here. Everyone gets a second chance here. Just follow the rules and you should have no problem. I guarantee you guys will get used to the boards within the next month or so.

To get a custom title, you must be signed up for at least ten days and have ten posts or more. You also need ten posts to have an avatar (little picture thingy). You can also make a signature.

Sure - this is everyone's "home," so feel free to use it. :) BTW, if anyone wants an avatar made up for them, be sure to ask friendly mod Bird_Boy. Just tell him what picture you want, send him an email and he'd be sure to send one that you want. He's great at it and I'm sure he'd be a huge help.

Don't feel that way Knux. We don't treat newbies badly here. We look for people to bring intelligent conversations to the table. We don't worry if they are new or not. Besides, I already know you from CNX, although I've never personally spoke with you before. The guys here are great. Plus, you can load up on the news on Toon Zone News and check out updated Cartoon Network schedules in the Shows section.

You have to have at least ten posts and have to been registered for ten days. Then just go into the Control Panel and then Edit Profile. All this stuff is covered in the rules, so I suggest you all read it.

I recognize many of your usernames from CNX. I just want to welcome you all. I really hope you like it here. Like I mentioned, AniGen is like OTA and Verboten to an extent. I know who LilSonGoku because of liking Beyonce Knowles, but I forget his username at CNX.

Actually, I like this board, and the whole AniGen board is just cool. Atleast with Vbulletin, smilies look normal, but I have no problems with the board. I'm still trying to read through all these rules.

I'm very leniant over at the EZBoard.. the only big thing I deleted was Saunderz and Kebin's posts..

But I am not the same here. I frown on extreme negativity towards other people. It may seem like friendly banter over on the EZBoard, where everyone knows each other, but here, things like discrimination of any kind, verbal insults at the moderators, and harassment will be deleted, and possible grounds for a ban. I don't ban many people myself.. I haven't needed to.

But regardless, watch what you say. Some people might take it the wrong way, and will go straight to Brian in email, and he'll likely ban you. And if you don't think they'll do it, trust me when I say they will.

And just so you all know, if you have any questions about how the board works, what certain buttons do, or stuff like that, you can post your questions on the Feedback board, or just send me an e-mail (it's on the bottom of every page).

Here's a quick guide for those unfamiliar with this software:

--Click on the control panel button up top. There's lots of things you can adjust there.

--You stop being a "newbie" and become a "member" after 10 posts. After 10 days you can change "member" to something else in the control panel.

--Pictures under your name: You need to have made 10 posts, then go to main forums page and click on "No avatar selected". You have to find an avatar yourself, we don't provide any.

--You can edit your own posts by clicking on the "edit/delete" button. You can delete your own posts too, unless it's the first post in a thread, cause that would delete the whole thread (and anyone else's posts in it).

--You can send private messages to people by clicking on the "pm" button. You can have up to 50 messages in your PM folder, after that you'll need to empty it out or you can't receive any more.

--No pics in your sigs. It just causes everything to load slow, and we want everything to be lean and mean.

--On the main forums page, if you go down and click on "currently active users", you can see what everyone is doing! But if you look next to my name, I'm always viewing something that doesn't exist (and that usually mentions you by name).

--If you don't want anybody to know that you're online, or be able to see where you are, change yourself to "invisible" in the control panel.

--Lastly, make sure to visit the other boards!

The board removes redundant spaces and line breaks, which is why a normal indent won't work. But I just creeated a code you can use at the begiinign of a paragraph to create an indent. Just type (indent), but with [ ] instead of ( ), and it'll insert 5 spaces. So this:

(indent) Hi, my name is Brak!

becomes:

[indent]Hi, my name is Brak!

I too am worried. He hasn't contacted TZ in well over a month. Jeff and I talked pretty often too. He was working on some pretty big things for CNX that I suggested he do, before he disappeared. Perhaps there was a death in his family and that prevented him from showing up. I checked out some obituraries from where he lives (hey, you never know) and found four Harrises died in December on 2001. None of which were Jeffrey, fortunately.

No. "Toonami" is one forum, connected to the main Toon Zone board the same way Verboten or OtA are individual furums on the CNX board. There is no way to separate the Forum up into sub forums to break down posts into separate topics.

While I do not possess authority on what actions are taken here, I will re-state the intentions Jeff had for this place. Jeff stated that this Toon Zone forum was going to serve the same purpose as the General Toonami Q&A Forum. Thus, we will not be dragging the rest of the forums from the Revolution Board over to this venue, as ones like Verboten and the RPGs are inappropriate for an animation forum like Toon Zone. Albright is currently working on establishing a new message board to accommodate the rest of the forums on the Revolution Board as we flee from the impending influx of EZ Board‘s pop-up ad incursion. As the one entrusted by Jeff with final say on the matter, I have already authorized this action to be taken. Under Albright and company’s capable leadership, it should prosper quite nicely. Therefore, I personally see no need for sub-forums to be added to the current one here on Toon Zone. Now if something comes along later that warrants further establishment, so be it.

That was the impression I got from SC last night... If we're having the same issue of "donate money to keep the board going" with a new board, as we are we EZBoard, then I doubt we'll obtain a sufficiant amount to fund either.

Remember, my young apprentice... The Revolution Board is Rome. Rome is the mob. Keep the mob content and Rome will prosper. Unless someone has a secondary solution to the money problem, then the Romans will become restless and annoyed. Then much like CNX proper has done, Rome will crumble. :yakko:

If it's for the greater good of Rome, then the people will warm up to the idea when they become disheartened by the pop-up invasion. Which, I might add, can't be countered without a couple hundred dollars. :cool:

I think the biggest issue with acquiring the money is that a large part of CNX's population is either:
- young
- poor
- apathetic

Items #1 & #2 can't be dealt with since you can't age the users and there's not much you can do about their lack of cash

Item #3 is the most distressing but frequently comes from with youth. Some of my most frustrating exchanges at CNX in regards to hot topics (like the piracy thread) come when the person you're talking to/debating with simply falls back on a response of "Shrug" (presumably meaning "so what" or "oh well") or quasi-cute emoticon. You can't beat feeling or understanding into people either. Some of the users won't notice anything wrong until it impacts their portion of things.

That's precisely the problem, Vince. Jeff and I were going over various solutions before he departed for the abyss and we ran into your fore-mentioned with keeping the board ad-free.

We were looking for a way around it. Your CNX personal pic is just fine, actually smaller than what is accepted here I think. Ezboard uses pics that are 60x60, and this board can use pics that are 75x75. So you can use that Sakura pic......you are the one that uses the Sakura pic, right? :confused:

Yeah, I use the Sakura pic, but it's actual size is 141 x 150 and I don't know how much KB it is. And I have to use a pic that's already no more than 75 x 75, correct? That's why I'd like someone to resize it for me because I can't.

So can someone do it, pretty please? Help a damsel in distress (even though I hate being called one :p ) if it isn't too much trouble.

Yes and no; One head plus a head in each 'hand'. The right hand is the head of Megaseadramon, while the left hand is Skullgreymon's.

All right... what's up with the sudden appearance of the number link thingies (#1, #2, #3, etc), and why are they in their own table column? They make the buttons which used to run horizontally on the top of the page stack up vertically. When did this happen and why?

Bah... almost posted this before I checked it out with another web browser, the craptacular Netscape 6. Hmmm... they still line up horizontally in this unusuable excuse for a web browser. Guess I'll just have to live with it in my beloved iCab (http://www.icab.de/). :(

1024x768, but that's regardless. It's not a rez issue, it's a web browser issue. iCab tends to be very literal and precise in its interpretation of HTML. (It's the anti-IE. :) )

I just gave the button cell a width of 100%. Any better now?

No, that didn't help...

So I saved the thread and opened it up in good ol' BBEdit Lite and fiddled with it. Turns out the problem lies in the code that starts the table with the button bar:

<table width="100% cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0">

Ya see how there's a " before 100%, but not after? That little boo-boo throws the whole thing off. (Like I said, it's the anti-IE. :) ) Deleting that little " (or putting another one after the 100%) will get things back to normal again.
