Now I have watched That 70's Show from time to time, and really enjoyed it. It totally rocked. But an 80's show? Do you think it could be as good? I mean, what'll be next, a 90's show? I think the writers might be pushing their luck and chances for high ratings. But that's just me. Thoughts?

I will give it a try, but I am sick of the commercials for it, especially since they all have that guy on there going, "It's not a payphone, it's a portable phone!" Hahahahahahahanot.

To be honest (first time for everything...) I watched about 5 minutes of the first ep of That 70s Show and switched to something else. I know there are fans of that show, but those poor deluded folks are beyond my help.
TBW and I saw an ad for That 80s Show last week on FX. We're now wearing neck braces because of the whiplash we suffered from rolling our eyes so hard.
Think I'm looking forward to this?
Think we should sue Fox for doing this to us?
Nah. That would be the 80s thing to do.

This just seems like more of the same old, same old. I mean...the concept isn't that original. It's just That 70's Show, but ten years alter. I used to enjoy That 70's Show, but now find it repetitive and bland - just as I'm sure That 80's Show will be. I will give the show a chance though. I'm not really interested in the show at all, but I'll watch an episode or two. I already know what the eighties were like...which is why I have no real interest in the show. I'd rathar forget the 80's...

The 80s is more recent than the producers think. Personally, for me, it hasn't passed on to the land of nostalgia and I still remember it, and considering how young I am, I'm sure many more people feel the same way :P

yeah, I agree. I never found the 80's that interesting, so I doubt this show will be good either. But I will check it out. I mean, the 90's seemed like yesterday, so the 80's only seem like last week or something. it feels weird to see a show about the 80's.

I really don't think I'm going to watch this myself. I like that 70s show, but the 80s show just looks kinda stupid and very bland to me. I'll see if something better is on, and if not, I'll check it out.
especially since they all have that guy on there going, "It's not a payphone, it's a portable phone!"
I'm really sick of those stupid commercials also, if it wasn't funny the first time, I won't be the 100th time.

Honestly, I'm still living back in the 90's...so...."That 80's Show" is just to...new...yeah...??
And if they dont make Transformers & He-Man references...dude..I'll be sooo pissed!
Besides...didn't That 70's Show have an "80's" episode awhile back? I remember seeing commercials for it?

I dont think the oughties (is that what it's officialy called) have their own identity yet. As far as I'm concerned we're in year 1999+3.
