View Full Version : rare video find

Went to the used video/book place today (the one where I found the Speedy and Pepe tapes last time) and found 2 more rare videos, both from the Golden Jubilee series. The 2 tapes are "Porky Pig's screwball Comedies" and "Daffy Duck: The Nuttiness Continues". The Daffy one has "Rabbit Fire" on it at original speed, and man, there is a difference in speed. They really butchered that one for TV. Oddly enough, though, an occasional time compressed film shows up on these, such as "Porky's Duck Hunt". Also interesting that there are no redrawn versions of the black/whites.
For anyone who knows the history of these: why does one have a later copyright and slightly different package design (the tops of the boxes say different things) than the other? I thought they were all released at the same time.

Lucky you, I NEVER find anything arround here...

Perhaps the different video-makers had slightly different package designs, like Coca-Cola bottlers.

anyhow, this line made me laugh out loud:

and "Daffy Duck: The Buttiness Continues".
That HAS to be the greatest typo I've ever seen!

Check out the Golden Jubilee Page (http://www.toonzone.net/looney/video/videogoljub.html) on Jon's site. Perhaps one of them was a mail-order edition.

All the Golden Jubilee tapes were released at the same time with the exception of the volumes devoted to Elmer Fudd, Foghorn Leghorn, and Pepe LePew, which came some months later.

"Porky Pig's Screwball Comedies" was the first videotape I ever bought, even before I had a VCR. The big reason I bought it was because of "You Ought To Be In Pictures" which I had never seen.
Congratulatons on your finds!

You must have missed ithe "titleless" typo someone made just yesterday. Unless you're the guy who made it...in which case...well...Freud once said there are really no accidents.... http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/otn/evil/evil_lol.gif

Well, I did a search, and I am the one who made that typo, I can't beieve it. I never got around to reading the posts after it, my computer's memory got mixed up or something and said no new posts were added to that.

I guess I made the best typo I've ever seen:D
