What would you say Adult Swim's best year was so far? I'd say 2003,,just look at what debuted that year: Family Guy (including the premiere of when you wish upon a weinstein), Futurama, Lupin III, FLCL, heck, i even liked blue gender. 2004 would be a close second though, with venture bros, full metal alchemist, tom goes to the mayor (i actually LIKE the show, so sue me), and some great new eps of harvey birdman. So what would you say the best year was?

2003 by far. It's hard to remember AS without Family Guy and Futurama. and hell, if it wasnt for the AS events of 2003, there's a good chance we may not be seeing new Family or (the soon-to-be ressurected) Futurama now.

I dunno, 2003 was great and all, but I have a fondness for the very beginning, 2001. At the time all that new programming was just so fresh and funny, with a set of bumpers that fit in perfectly with the quirky mood they were going for. Back then, I never missed a week.

I want to say 2001.... but that was only 4 months.
So I say 2002 is the best, for all the reasons Speedy listed.
I agree, 2002 was my favorite year of Adult Swim. I'm not really sure why, but I just liked it more then. Also, having it only on the weekends made me never want to miss it. With six days a week, it's not possible or worthwhile to watch every night.
In 2002, nearly everything on AS was new to me, so it was basically 6 hours a week of things I had never seen before. All the originals still had life in them then, too.
Agh, I'm feeling really tired and bleh. The wording of this post pretty much sucks and I feel like I was just talking in circles, but that's okay. ;[

2002 or 2003 provided most of my favorite AS stuff (I didn't watch in 2001 =( ).

Definitely 2003, THE banner year of Adult Swim. Assloads of new anime, the FOX shows, the excitement over the cards, and it even boasted ATHF's best year. Sadly, it could only go downhill from there as the FOX shows began to hog the airtime and gain all the noteriety (the first sign was when Futurama replaced Home Movies on weekdays because of low ratings in August 2003), the cards became less interesting, and ASC's gradual decline (which I think has evened out, IMO). At least the anime has been fairly consistent for the past two years, though it seems to be running thin as of 2006.

Not sure. Either 2002 or 2003 (2001 was good, but 2002 is just like that but with more!) The latter half of 2004 for ASA was good for Case Closed, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Ghost in the Shell, but the first half stunk with the weak begining of Adult Swim Saturday (lack of promotion, InuYasha being the opener, Wolf's Rain being dissapointing IMO, nothing really to watch) and Witch Hunter Robin that year also dissapointed me. 2004 had good comedy debuts of Venture Bros (as a full-time series), Tom Goes to the Mayor, and the PHF pilot aired (which I hated at first but later became a very short series I liked.)
