I remember reading WildC.A.T.s years ago, and watching the animated series. However, I was in my comic shop yesterday and came across some comic called WildC.A.T.s 3.0. Does anyone here know what the deal with it is? It looked like they turned Grifter into a robot, and Voodoo was a cowgirl or something. Where are the Daemonites and Helspont? If anyone can give me any info on this, along with links with images and info I'd be greatful.

Wildcats 3.0 was a radical departure from both the original WildC.A.T.s series. The only characters really to carry over from the original series was Grifter. All the other characters were pretty much kicked to the curb or sent riding out into the sunset in Wildcats (a.k.a. Wildcats 2.0), with the exception of an upgraded Spartan android--who had now merged with Void to become the universe's biggest snob. This new Spartan (now was now calling himself Marlowe) was using HALO to make the world a better place by changing the entire global enconomy with inexpensive and revolutionary new inventions like batteries that never died, cars that run on water, and medicines that could cure pretty much any disease possible. Grifter--along with some very reluctant new recruits--were HALO's unofficial muscle against corporations and criminal organizations trying to stop this brave new world order.

Wildcats 3.0 essentially dropped all of the alien invasion/superhero antics of the original series and became very much a mature audiences-only gritty drama--complete with adult language, graphic violence, and brief nudity--that was more along the lines of TV shows like The Sopranos and The Shield with a great deal of social politics thrown in for good measure.

While applauded by fans and critics alike for its edginess and deviation from the typical superhero books, all that really didn't translate to sales for the series and it was ultimately canceled before HALO could complete its plans for world takeover.

Original series creator and penciller Jim Lee will be relaunching Wildcats later this year as an ongoing bi-montly series that will return the books more or less back to its original alien invasion roots with a few returning members from the original lineup such as Zealot and Voodoo.

Thanks Lord. Looks like it isn't worth bothering with since it got canned before it ended.
