Who do you think the 2nd race is gonna be? I'm definitely gonna go with Dark Eldar... I would say Necrons, but then again they might not work well enough as a race in this game due to their different way of play. And while they did make a cameo in WA, that doesn't mean it's 100%... I can already say the 'nids are not in it, as they have said countless times the DoW engine wouldn't do them justice. But the 'nids could make a cameo... DE is the easiest and most logical to create. Especially if they're made out to be the Tau's arch-enemies.

I've said this before but:
Consider that about the time expansion #2 comes out if the Necrons are included it will serve as a preview of soon to come out (after the release of the second expansion that is) Necron Codex. GamesWorkshop will be getting Relic to show off the new Necron veichiles (yes, plural, they'll have more than one after the update).
I would like Witch Hunter, but it's going to most likely be Necrons and with the army painter: hot pink Necrons:sweat:

GAWD, where are the other 40k fans :(. I just got into it again after a long hiatus, and it is great to be back. Dawn of War drew me back since the last few months, and I've even picked up a BT army and am in the process of creating/painting them [well, I'm at school so I have to wait til break].
But anyways, yea you do have a point. And I really do think Necrons would be a nice choice, but I still feel the DE would fit more. The Necrons seem like they would be overpowered, too. And don't they play a bit weird on the TT game itself? So how would that translate over?

*raises hand* And I'm probably the only girl. :p
Well, I just read the books, but I'd like to get some other stuff too...like the artbook. Completely unrelated to the topic, I know.

Demo up on Fileplanet! Also, for those who haven't been following the game, it is a stand-alone expansion pack, meaning you won't need the original game, Dawn of War, to play online. Though I reccomend it for the fun SP campaign.

Actually I think you need DoW, but you don't need Winter Assault (but you need Winter Assault if you want to play the Imperial Guard in Dark Crusade)
From the demo:
Things I notice about the Tau:
1. Their units seem to have fairly low hit points (and in case of the Kroot very low morale), a specialized purpose, and can really dish out the damage in their field of expertise. So basically this side seems to be more reliant on having a good mix of forces than the other races (but I don't know how the balance is in the full expansion pack though).
2. Crisis Suits are almost totally awesome (almost because they can't repair or reinforce so when the lose hp they lose hp).
Other things I noticed:
1.The SM artillery unit seems different; it fires slower but the results of a hit are much more devastating (but maybe that's a result the Tau forces low hp).
2. The models of the SM Force Commander and Listen post have been changed up (already knew about the FC).
I really with they'd let you finish taking the SM base (and heck even show what a squad of Grey Knights can do).
Anyway, I eagerly awaiting the full release.

You don't need either game to play online, but if you have WA, you get the IG. If you have DoW, you get the original 4 races. So to play as all 7, you need DoW+WA. So my original statement is still correct.
Thoughts:
- Awesome to see Kroots in action... They are gonna be kickass scouting units.
- Fire Warriors deal damage, but have weak HP. Definitely feeling like a tech tree race.
- Crisis Suits rock and are balanced.
- Stealth Teams FTW. Finally some useful capping units... Jetpacks own.
- Overall they seemed balanced. They actually feel like they should, based on their source material.
