I just got over 100. It took me longer than you, but I guess I just don't have alot to say.

Remember, it's not how fast you get there, but what you've done while getting there.

Congrats MV, but let's all keep in mind we're not competing or anything. There's nothing wrong with posting once in a while when you've got something good to say.

Totally! And hey Patrick, I registered in November too and had just gotten over a hundred. I'm assuming that either the people getting so many posts so fast are that they don't write long posts, they reply to everything, and they have a lot of free time. When school starts up monday, I'll be lucky to get in a few posts in a day.

I think it is time to mention just how annoying these posts are. You don't need to tell us how many posts you have. It's there right next to your avatar. If we want to know, we can look.

I don't mean to sound grumpy, and this isn't aimed at anyone in particular. But we are very close to eliminating post counts completely because threads like this are getting out of control.

Congrats, Majin Vegeta!!!

But on a side note, please everyone refrain from drawing so much attention to the post counts. I really enjoy seeing how many i have made and i don't want it to go away. Just include a little note at the bottom of one of your posts so we don't have any feelings hurt, or features removed.

I really am happy for everyone who does these kinds of things, but let's just try to keep new threads at a very-sparingly-bare-minimum. If even that.

New threads in general? Or these kind of threads.

Sorry. :(

Threads, posts, and messages that say "I just got x number of posts!" can be irritating. It's like jumping up and shouting "Look at me!" And then everyone else starts in, yelling "Look how many I got!" Pretty soon it's just a racket.

Of course, when the World's Finest first moved to Toon Zone and we got these nifty new boards everyone was whooping it up when they crossed the 100 mark or the 500 mark. So it's a perfectly understandable sort of post to make. Heck, did back thru my posts and you'll find me doing the same.

But eventually you just stop caring. I don't mean to look down my nose and sniff with aristocratic disdain. But you can always spot a newbie by their excitement at hitting a milestone. I think newbies are cute when they do this, but of course relatively few newbies want to be thought of as "cute." ;)

But overall I'm like Frozen, prefering quality to quantity. My favorite poster on the boards is The Old Maid. She goes back to a time long before I ever showed up. And she has only 85 posts by now. But every one of them is a jewel.

There's nothing wrong with posting a lot. Short posts are fine, as long as they are somewhat informative. Even "useless" threads like the "Party at Danielle's" are great, because they create a sense of fun and community, which is why we come here.

All I'm saying is that you should rely on the content of your posts, not the quantity. If you do that we'll notice you, and without your having to remind us how much you've posted.

:)

I just meant these kinds of threads :p .

I've done them too, and totally understand why it's important, but i just don't want anything bad to happen.

Congrats again ;)

No need to be rude.

While I do think these posts are popping up rather redicuously fast...there is no need for being rude.

So...I guess congratulations are in order Majin? Heh.

How about some figgy pudding? I already have carollers on my lawn since Christmas singing that they won't go til they get some. I am considering calling the police on them.

Hmm, the presence of that "i" suggests it's an imaginary number. Can we give you an imaginary present? :D

I think we should get rid of the post counts, to be honest. It's distracting. People nosing around to see how many posts you have and how frequently you post a day (I post 5. something a day!!) is not very constructive for conversation, in my opinion.

But that's why it's my opinion. :)

The mods have been endlessly debating this, actually. Not sure where it'll go, but we have to admit that post count posts are becoming a bit of a problem (especially this weekend  )
