Bugs and Daffy:
"The Old Grey Hare"
"Odor-able Kitty"
"Stage Door Cartoon"
"Draftee Daffy"
"The Unruly Hare"
"Life With Feathers" - edited

Tom and Jerry:
"Flirty Birdy" - edited
"Quiet Please!"
"Springtime For Thomas"
"The Milky Waif" - edited
"Trap Happy"
"Solid Serenade"

We got the rest of 1944 today on B&D, and some of 1945 (not exactly in order, though). They also skipped "Herr Meets Hare" and "Trap-Happy Porky". It should be interesting to see if the chronological order theme continues into next week. If it does, I wonder if they'll play the rarely seen "Behind the Meat Ball"?

Yeah it'll be nice if they air "Behind the Meatball" again. That one hasn't been on TV for years, although nothing's offensive about it.

Is that a wartime cartoon? I have never seen it, I have read the plot summary, but have forgotten. Maybe they find it too 'dated'. Can't be any more so than "Meatless Flyday", that's very war-themed, and it airs.

No, the cartoon is about a dog trying to get meat, and when he finally gets a steak, he has to fight for it against a rival bulldog. Nothing much to do with the war.

The dog going nuts over the lack of meat is poking fun at wartime rationing (he even asks the audience if they've ever had a similar problem). But that's about the only wartime reference, and it's not even that obvious. If CN can show wartime shorts like "The Weakly Reporter" and "Meatless Flyday", there shouldn't be a problem with "Behind the Meat Ball". It is an enjoyable little Tashlin cartoon. The ending is funny ("Well, we can *dream* can't we??").
