We all know cartoons and dope shows like 24 reign supreme around here... but what about the OTHER shows we could be watching?

The show that NEVER, EVER lets me down: Whose Line is it Anyway. Those guys can make ANYTHING funny. Especially Wayne Brady. He has uncomparable freestyling ability.

Law and Order (all incarnations): I dunno. These shows are just too freakin cool! Sure, they seem slow compared to the stuff I normally watch... but watching those DA's and cops at work... woo.

CSI and the Agency: I like cop and government agency shows.

COPS! 'nuff said.

Ditto on Who's Line Is It Anyway?, though Brad Sherwood's my favorite.

I also enjoy Get Smart and I Love Lucy. When they're on, that is.

I'll agree w/ Whose Line is it Anyway and CSI. I'll add Everybody Loves Raymond, That 70's Show, and The Drew Carey Show. Also Smallville, The Tick, and 24, but i think you wanted us to leave those type shows out :bosko:

Best show I'm not watching? That would be the Sopranos because I don't have HBO...but I have rented all of the videos, and that's some kick-ass stuff!

BTW...anyone know where I can find some Sopranos avatars?

Whose line is it Anyway? is great, but they waste half the show on singing. The old shows had comedy skits and hardly any singing. Ryan and Colin are indeed the best. Ryan's impersonation of Carol Channing is hilarious.

"I'm Sparticus"-Ryan Styles (from WLIIA with Robin Williams)

I love Whose Line!! I watch it every day now, LOL! :D Colin and Ryan are definitely the best. I also watch The Drew Carey Show, but just because Ryan Stiles and Diedrich Bader are on it. (The Zeta Project turned me into a major Diedrich Bader fan ^^; ).

I caught an episode of World Chronicle tonight on Sci Fi. I liked the episode quite a bit, and hope to remember to watch it again (I tend to forget about these kinds of shows unless I establish a pattern of watching it early on). Pretty great cast, cool story, and next week's preview makes me wanna see it. Kinda reminds me of Lone Gunmen meets Men In Black/

I agree, I love Whose line is it anyway? especially when Colin and Ryan do a skit together, like when they did a Star Wars skit and two people had to do sound effects, lol.

Yeah, they always did a song at the end didn't they? They would occasionally do some in the episodes but I noticed they do props and stuff more in the older ones, although the ones with Drew Carey are kinda better since he usually gets into the acts alot and he's pretty funny.

I also like to watch M*A*S*H. Hawkeye, B.J., Potter and Radar, always the best 4! :D

Yuk, Drew's Whose line isn't nearly as funny as Clive's Whose Line. I was a big fan of the show, before it was "cool" I dunno, a show I ought to be watching, but don't is Farscape. I used to watch, but I've gotten out of the habbit.

I also miss B5 more often than not. >=[ Why'd Sci-Fi have to move it! For EFC! ARG!

but then I realized it's on ABC (my least favorite network), and it features Drew Carey (whose show I just can't stand). I stopped watching a few months ago, and the deal was permanently sealed when a woman I knew ended a 6-year relationship we had. She enjoys Drew Carey-related programming, and now when I see the guy, I'm reminded of this psycho witch woman, the daughter of a recovering-alcoholic mother and Vietnam veteran father. I'll pass on this show, and "The Drew Carey Show". As for the others, I'll address them one by one:

-"Babylon 5"-It's okay.
-"M*A*S*H"-Haven't seen it. Perhaps I should view the movie first.
-"Chronicle"-Seen an episode. Good sci-fi comedy, and it's good that Curtis "'Booger" Armstrong is still getting work.
-"The Sopranos"-Violent and misogynistic, from what I've seen. I'll pass.
-"Everybody Loves Raymond"-No, they don't, especially his family. Too depressing to watch.
-"That 70s Show"-The break-up but still remain friends thing is shallow and conceited. Besides that, it doesn't work in real life, believe me.
-"Smallville"-(Caps sees Vince, Hatter and Dick Grayson threatening to strangle him. He remains mute upon show's mention)
-"The Tick"-On Fox, can't watch. I blocked Fox and ABC from my TV.
-"24"-Had to watch from the beginning. I didn't. Never mind.
-"Get Smart"-Would love to see this again.
-"I Love Lucy"-Another victim of the psycho witch woman.
-"Law & Order", "CSI", "The Agency" and "Cops"-Haven't really watched any of them.

Sincerely,

John "Captain Caps" Kilduff

This might be veering off topic here, but I saw I Love Lucy on that list. I know that there are hordes of fans of this show, but I just don't see what the appeal is. Yeah, there are good episodes, I don't deny that, but it's like this show is held up to be the epitome of what every other show should be like. I think it's a highly overrated show. I am not saying it's a bad show, just overrated.

It was a different era, folks. :)

"I Love Lucy" is so respected because half the entertainment critics right now (around 50-60-ish years old) watched and enjoyed the show with their families when they were young. Nostalgia clouds reason--we're victims of many of our childhood memories.

By contrast, many of these critics have failed to connect with many of today's shows, even though us younger audiences see them as good. When we grow older, you'll probably see "Married...with Children" on many classic TV shows lists. Well, maybe not. But I would put it on mine, though. ;)

As for "The Sopranos"...I liked the show BEFORE David Chase tried to turn it into a "Let's see how I can shock audiences THIS season..." type of show. The first season was a psychologically intelligent mafia show, and violence and sex were used accordingly. The second season continued this advancement, though some "shock" elements started pushing through. But it was still a very good show. The third season...this is where things started going downhill. Shock after shock with no reason other than to "push the envelope." I'm all for "pushing the envelope," but only if it serves the stories AND the characters. Here Chase started using rape, violence and lesbianism because he thinks they are "chic" in today's entertainment, especially in a TV show.

Well, that's not what makes a good show,

Whose Line is one of my all time fav shows, that I never watched much, lol. But when I do happen upon it, you can bet that I wont be leaving till it's over. That show totally rocks, though I like the British to the American version, but that's me. Another show I never really watched much was Law and Order, and my big sis and mom like that show alot. Then suddenly I kept seeing it all the time, and I'm hooked. So now I'm actually always looking for it whenever I watch tv.

I don't really like the American WLIIA? with Drew Carey. IMHO, Clive Anderson (the guy without a neck ;) ) is muuuuch funnier.

You speak for me too. There's also too much mugging by the performers in the American version.

I'm sure there's some truth to "I Love Lucy" being highly respected due to nostalgia, but I'd have to disagree with anyone trying to say that's all there is to it. I only started watching the show within the past five or six years, so *my* appreciation of it certainly isn't due to nostalgia. I continue to find the entire series more entertaining than 90% of what's now on the air these days... I've yet to see one episode that wasn't entertaining at the very least. On average, it's genuinely funny; at its best, it's a potential cause of suffocation...

Ah well, not everyone has the same tastes...

Well, nobody is saying that Lucy isn't an enjoyable show. It just gets way more attention than alot of others, especially from the programmers at TV Land. I also find Lucy to be enjoyable (tho I haven't watched it in a while) but all I'm saying is that there were other shows out there from Nick At Nite's early days that you don't see on TV anymore, but Lucy is still sticking around. That to me is kind of putting the show on a higher pedestal than other series that were out around the same time that also deserve attention and make me feel like the show is overrated.

Jeeze, everyone I know loves Whose Line? but I truly hate it. It is just not funny to me. All my friends around here say, "But they're coming up with this stuff off the top of their heads, that's what makes it funny." That doesn't make it funny. Anybody can do that and be semi-funny, they should go home and work on the jokes and make them truly funny. That's the same reason I don't like Robin Williams.

Whew, what unpopular opinion. Don't think I'm a snob though, I watch some truly crappy TV. Elimidate, anyone? That show is like watching glass break. You hate for it to happen but can't help watching it happen. They really use people up on that show.

Don't feel alone in your opinion, Killercroc. There is a reason I didn't jump in and say I like the show, too.
