Well, we have 5 months untill the fabulous & much anticipated Spider-Man movie premiers...which, if you ask me, is totally going to crush Star Wars Episode 2. Hehe. Anyway. How about a little hype-build up?

I saw the trailer again today. And while the CG-Spider didn't get me all to happy, everything else almost caused me to wet myself, just like the first time I watched it. Haha.

The movie TOYS are out in select stores now, in VERY minimal quantities(Check target or wal-mart stores), for a limited time. I guess its Toy Biz's way of causing mass histeria among comic/toy fanatics? Anyway, I wouldn't get to excited on this event, because right now, the toys are selling for $10-15, EACH. Hehe. I wouldn't argue, though. Each figure comes with plenty of good accessories(Spidey gets a ledge, GG gets his mask & glider, J.J gets his desk, etc..). But, I'll wait for the movie to come out, then the toys will lower to probably $7 each, and be in large-mass quantities. hehe.

But did they release Damp Blouse Mary Jane? ;)

I can't wait for the movie either, as well as a big Spidey fan buddy of mine. Though I have yet to see the trailer, and it's driving me insane! But I have heard that Spidey's origin wont follow the comic origins. Thoughts on that? And Spidey isn't all CG is he?

Hey Barb, the trailer is on their website: www.sony.com/spiderman

The trailer is so awesome. I visit the site daily to see any updates.

I agree w/ the spider-man hype stuff..but, I don't think it has enough power to defeat Episode 2...just somthing about it. Spider-Man, will, more than likely, be PG-13, while AOTC, will be, likely, PG. So, more parents would probably let their children go see AOTC...

either way...I'm lookin' forward to spiderman..

I'm calmly waiting for Spiderman.......alright, I lied. I'm going to see it opening day, and hopefully it will be as good as I hope it will be. I'm trying not to get sucked into the hype and everything, but it's hard, being that I'm a huge Spidey fan.

Argh! I can't wait for this movie. :)

The movie will easily top $250 million, I think. The great hting about htis movie is that it finished shooting a while back, giving it 5 months (or more) to concentrate on special effects - and making them as real as possible. Riami said the special F/X shots seen in the new trailer aren't 100% complete yet - and they still look amazing.

If I had to choose between this and attacking clones, I would choose Spidey every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Maguire is perfect, and though I think I'm alone, I like the CGI. Still not sold on Mecha-Goblin though. Personally, I think Dr. Octopus would have been more visually interesting in a film, but oh well. Spidey has no boy band cameos! Go Spidey!

I would definatly pick this over the SW movies. Spider-Man is gonna be something fresh and original - something the box office could use instead of the usual summer movies. This movie just looks spectacular. And Sam Riami...that's all ya need to know!!

Yes, the movie looks supurb. i'm glad the CGI isn't 100% complete, because i wasn't impressed. he looked too rounded and slow and ... weird, sometimes.

and i really hope it does well b/c the had so much trouble making it. costumes stolen, people dying... :(

and Spidey is hot. Dorkalicious!

I'm just really impressed with how the costume looks. It's hard to pull off an all spandex costume - but this works. The raised webbing, the very dark (almost black) blue. The weird fabric. It all works togethor perfectly. No complaints here, cheif!

I think the overall part of Spider-Man was done perfectly. Tobey Maguire is a PERFECT Peter Parker. The thing I absolutely loved the most, about the preview, was that you didn't hear this tough-voice-over-guy, making the movie sound all.."buff". Instead, you have s squeeky-voiced teen, Peter Parker, obviously going through late puberty. Lol! Its absolutely PERFECT!!!

I really like the idea of William Dafoe as Green Goblin. I've said it once, & I'll say it again, I think his "mecha-suit" would look much better if they draped some old rags over it. Hehe. Otherwise, it isn't that bad. The comic GG gave the impression that the suit was simply another living creature, another part of Osborn. BUT, this mech-suit makes him appear as simply a guy in a robot suit. *sigh* Oh well.

And do I have to mention "soaking wet shirt-Mary Jane"?? ;) :D

Oh yeah. This movie will do well, the way things are shaping up. And while I thought the effects in the trailer were good, the news that they weren't 100% finished makes me even MORE excited.

I'm still really looking forward to the next Star Wars movie, but Spiderman is getting up there!

I was watching Hot Ticket the other day, and they said Toby underwent weight-training for the part. I'm sorry, but I think part of Spidey's appeal was that he wasn't just another musclehead "Here I come to save the DAY!!!!" hero, he was physically a little nerd. Oh well! Other than that, he's a super Spidey! :D

The "buff" look is a side effect of the spider-bite. In the new trailer you can quickly see a sorta skinny looking shirtless Toby (I think as he collapses from the bite). When he wakes up he's really buff. As you can tell by my handle, I'm a big Spider-Man fan. Loved the comics and the comic looks great. Looks like this will be a comic book movie done right. What they ddi to Batman in Batman & Robin was wrong. Hopefully this movie will lead the way to a Batman movie done right!

Whoah! Never heard of that!

"I'm sorry, but I think part of Spidey's appeal was that he wasn't just another musclehead "Here I come to save the DAY!!!!" hero, he was physically a little nerd."

Spidey is STRONG AS HELL in the comics though. He had the strength to knock out HULK and THE THING.

I know! That was why it was cool! He knocked out Hulk but looked like a 98 lb. weakling that couldn't knock out a fly... :)

And yet, this is the wonder & amazement of Spider-Man. Ahh....

Naturally, I've been working on some new character designs for a Spider-Man story. I need your opinions. I'm going for a classic Green Goblin, but I was wondering if I should use just the normal-goblin, or maybe give some slight technological details(Not like the movie suit. Just some more...angles, & whatnot?).

Bruce Campbell will be the first person to say "Spider-Man" in the movie, as Tobey originally calls himself the "Amazing Spider" in the movie.

I'm not really a Spider Man fan, but I'd really like to see it! The special effects where he's swinging around got me all excited! Go Spidie :D

I'm very impressed with how they're pulling off the special effects. Granted some are sorta easy to do (you'd be suprised how easy the "wall crawling" scenes are to do - it's all about angles and camera tricks). The scenes where he is in the air and webslinging and jumping do look just awe inspiring. I did wanna see more of old JJJ to see how he turned out.

Yeah, I always had a soft spot for that crusty curmudgeon. If whoever plays him doesn't absolutely chew up the scenery when he appears, there is no justice.
