Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun (w/ Firestorm Expansion)
Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 (w/ Yuri's Revenge Expansion)
Command and Conquer: Renegade
Command and Conquer: Generals (w/ Zero Hour)

Sole Survivor is notable absent.

Bonus DVD:
Several video show the history of CnC and others; includes an interview with Louis Castle (co-founder of Westwood).

Well it came out just this past week. So what are thoughts and comments about this particular product, the past of the CnC series, and the future of the CnC series?

My Comments:
Well I'm a CnC fan and have been since RA. Yes, I regret to admit it I missed the original CnC and several of the expansions packs for various games along the way, but now I can rectify that :)
I had some problems getting CnC to play but I resolved those issues and all the other games seem to work fine (but many fans are complain that multiplayer hasn't been update, not gameplay wise but making internet games a bit more possible on today's systems and OS's [most likely the reason for Sole Survivors absence], but that's not a big issue with me, well the multiplayer part I really would have like Sole Survivors for the sake of completeness).
As for the Bonus DVD some of it's interesting but most of it is EA PR. They had a part about various video fan tributes but it didn't actually have the complete fan tributes on the DVD, but you could see them at GameTap:rolleyes:
And a complete sound track would have been REALLY nice, but no:sad:

As for the Future of CnC: after the disolvement of Westwood proper by EA, many of the Westwood people forming Petroglyph, and RA3 going through problems with its development team and being dropped in favor of Battle for Middle Earth II I have to say things seem bleak. The only way I see future CnC game being done full justice if EA and Petroglyph can cooperate but after what EA did to Westwood it doesn't seem like it's going to happen. Maybe at least Frank Klepacki (http://www.frankklepacki.com/),now working at Petroglyph, can agree to work on future CnC games (he didn't work on Generals). Frank Klepacki (http://www.frankklepacki.com/)is to CnC what John Williams is to Star Wars, and I think Hellmarch and its various versions is one of the best pieces of game music of all time.

Where did you get this? (Has been looking all over for CC Red Alert)

Oh yeah one quick question. Does it come with the allied and soviet disk?

Wait, they managed to fit all those games onto 1 DVD....wow, how is that possible I mean surely the combined file sizes of all the C&C games would be too big for one DVD

Yup, the DVD is 7.70 GB and keep that's mostly from Generals and Renegade. Keep in mind CnC, RA, RA2 is only about 1-1.7 GB installed each with all the movies and expansions; on top of that everything on the DVD is compressed (the movies need to be installed to the hard drive and don't play off the DVD).

GameStop for about $40.
40 bucks for all of that?

A Bargain!

Did they give you the option of playing the games in higher resolutions? It's nice to be able to play the older games, but not if I have to run them at anything lower than 1440x900 =[.

They're all in their original format.
What do you have a newer monitor that doesn’t support lower resolution, or is it just your preference?

And come on in CnC and RA that groundpounder are about 6 pixels.

I'm still a little sad that after akll these years, C&C 3 has still yet to come out. So many unanaswered questions...

Both. I have a widescreen monitor where the native resolution is 1440x900. If I run something at say 800x600 or 640x480 - it'd be blurry and nasty looking because it stretches to fit the screen. I could run it windowed, but those window sizes are still small. 1024x768 is okay - but not ideal.

That's a hell of a bargain. I love those games, but since I don't really use windows anymore I'm not sure if I'd buy it.

However, any fan of RTS' should get it if they're the least bit interested.

I'm a fan of RTS's but I never really cared for the CnC series. I will admit it's quite a bargain, but I think I'll pass on this one.
