Well, since Raizen is dead I’ll put my money on Yusuke to win this one.

The final season of Yu Yu Hakusho is here. Demon King Raizen is now dead and newly made King Yusuke Urameshi has proposed a tournament to decide the new ruler of Demon World. Who will come on top in the Demon World Tournament? Find out on “The Preliminaries” at 5:30 AM Eastern on Cartoon Network.

Last Time on YYH:
After Raizen’s death, Yusuke and Hokushin traveled to Gandara to have audience with Yomi. While the Demon World kings met, Yomi had Kurama and the Dark Tournament demons wait in the other room in case Yusuke had some assassination intentions. Of course, Yusuke suggests something very risky by proposing a worldwide tournament to decide the next ruler of Demon World. Yomi accepts the proposal and in a matter of weeks (or was it months?) the tournament will begin. During that time in between we meet Raizen’s old friends and Yomi’s test-tube-baby-of-a-son Shura.

Episode Summary Courtesy of the http://YuYuHakusho.com (http://yuyuhakusho.com/) :

Yomi and Mukuro, preventing a full-scale Demon War, have embraced Yusuke’s unlikely proposal. Peace is secured for the moment. But the battle for control of Demon World must begin. Who will win the tournament, and grasp complete power?

Spoilers: If the episode has already aired you do not need to worry about using spoiler tags. If you must comment on episodes that have not yet aired you will need to use spoiler tags due to the number of people who have not seen the rest of the series. Also keep in mind that mods have to read these, they are people too and don't need to know about future details that could destroy their enjoyment of the episodes to come. Thank you!

Malex’s YYH Forecast: I’m baaaaaack. Okay, let’s hope that we can see some interesting fights in the prelims or at least a certain kitsune…

As they say, love is the most powerful weapon of all and this episode had it in spades.

The first part was a good built up, the second part had good action and the third part of the episode was laugh out loud funny. :zim:

I give this episode 5 out of 5 stars.

What was edited out of this episode? Doesn't seem like a lot would have been.

Enki lost his pipe, for one thing. Didn't see anything else though.

I love Rinku's bit where he was ranting about Chu getting distracted, and then gets distracted himself.

Man they let "ASS" in when Chu said it. Hey man Chu was pimpen today trying to hook up with that demon chick. :D I like it when:
Chu says: "I surrender, how about a date?"
Also when he says: "I'll kick your ass if you want, I swear." Then Rinku gets distracted. Who's the hypocrite now?

This episode was really good, it was fun to see the return of the announcers, although I was angry that Chuu won't be going on in the tournament. The comedy was really well done this time, and next episode looks awesome.

Overally 10/10.

I'm guessing you missed the episode where Mukuro revealed her face (and so much more in the uncut version).

Koto is back and so is her very weird commentating :anime: I totally cracked up when she was cheerfully saying "48 of the fighters are frozen solid!" :p Yusuke giving his monk friend the evil eye was pretty scary but he made up for it by happily not killing any of his opponents :) YYH goes against pretty many cliches so I'm guessing that Yomi will win his fight

Hooray for Koto and other demon girls. Poor Chu, she was good looking... it's hard to fight that. And Rinku up against a monkey girl... yeah good luck with that one.

It's funny that Rinku mentioned the girls figure. :anime:

I've always loved the scene when Yusuke, Kurama, and Hiei all meet up again.

"You're starting to make me miss Kuwabara." Haha. Five seconds after they see each other they're already bickering. Classic.

And yay, I love Koto. "Juri got what she was looking for." :D

Good times. Only 7 episodes left in the series. How time flies.

All right, I'm back to commenting on YYH, wait, did I ever comment on it? Eh, who cares.

So, I missed the eps since Koenma and Sayko joined their teams in the Dark Tournament; just what was Juri looking for from Koto?

And after Yomi dismantled his empire, it was nice to see his other chief advisor (other than Kurama) land the co-announcing gig with Koto. Nice work if you can get it.

To the prelims.

Pity we didn't get to see Hiei or Kurama in action.

Is it just me, or is there a resemblance between Touya and Android 18?

Hmm, seems the Hiei-Kurama shippers in fanfic should make room for the Shishi Wakamaru-beautiful Suzuka shippers.

I see a mistake. One of Raizen's friends, Shuu, was named as the winner from Group 64, but so was Kurama.

Another good story was passed over in Group 90, the one with Raizen's monks. They probably went in thinking, okkay, so we can't fight for Yusuke, but we can make sure the threat to him doesn't come from this group. So they get each other's backs, take on the other 40+ contenders as a team, then settle things among themselves. It's easy compared to a typical day of training with Yusuke.

Nadsim had the right idea, waiting for Chu to take out all the others, then having him all to herself, so to speak. And he obliged her, disqualifying himself by surrendering.

Rinku was not being a hypocrite; he just spoke without knowing the power of pheromones. Something tells me Suzuga is hustling him.

And Yusuke sets off a meteor shower, only in reverse.

It seems that the only way anyone from the elite team is going to take on Yusuke is if it's in the finals, unless this tourney gets loaded on one side like the Dark Tournament was.

Shishi should take a keen interest in next week's match; he will face the winner, from all indications.

And now, to make an attempt at setting up the brackets for the actual tournament.

So, I missed the eps since Koenma and Sayko joined their teams in the Dark Tournament; just what was Juri looking for from Koto?

It was a husband. When the Dark Tournament stadium was exploding, Juri comments this:

Uncut: I can't die! I'm still a virgin!

Edited: I can't die! I never been kissed by a guy before!

Koto: WOW! Juri just revealed something that I never would have suspected due to her selling cocktails at the club! Come on! Let's find you a man!

Who?
The announcer. She was the announcer for the DT and now the Makai Tournament.

If anyone has a complete tournament bracket, or knows where it is, I'd appreciate being pointed in its direction.
I wouldn't bother worrying about it. The action really skips around in the rounds. There are only four episodes of actual tournament fighting.
