From wwe.com: (http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/inokiwwe)

After several hours of meeting with Simon Inoki, John Laurinaitis, Vice President of Talent Relations for WWE, remains optimistic about developing a working relationship with the President of New Japan Pro Wrestling. “We talked about a variety of topics, including the Japanese wrestling market and the domestic wrestling market,” said Laurinaitis. “We also talked about different opportunities between WWE and Japan. I wish his company the best of luck in the future, and chances are that there will be another meeting between us scheduled soon.”

John "Johnny Ace" Laurinaitis, the bane of many a wrestler's existence, has a pretty good working history with Japan. And Simon Inoki is...Simon Inoki, President of New Japan Pro Wrestling.

What do you think came out of this meeting between arguably the 2 largest wrestling companies in the world? A working relationship? Chris Benoit vs. Hiroyoshi Tenzan?

AND WHAT THE HELL IS GOING TO HAPPEN WITH BROCK LESNAR!?!?!??

For those that don't know, Brock is the current IWGP World Champion in New Japan.

I'm hoping it involves Brock. I could also see a "working relationship" being done to prevent TNA from doing business with them.

I would give anything to be able to call myself "The President of New Japan." It sound so animé.

Same here. As for the news, this probably has to do with Brock Lesnar, pure and simple. New Japan is in good with TNA at the moment, and I really don't see them changing things. If anything, it reminds me of the "Jerry Jarrett visits Stanford" thing a few years back.

For those that don't know, Brock is the current IWGP World Champion in New Japan.I would expect that this involves Brock Lesnar to the extent that they are trying to take away a place for him to be. Obviously he doesn't see it that way, but everything I've read gives me the impression that he is violating his no-compete clause by wrestling there.

...everything I've read gives me the impression that he is violating his no-compete clause by wrestling there.I'm thinking the opposite. WWE has been doing so much stalling that it seems like the judge is finally saying, "Crap or get off the pot." Why else except that they have doubts that they could win?

By continuing to harrass Brock, however, but not actually letting this go to court, they cost him a good deal of money in legal fees, (maybe he'll give up!) and delays the possibility of him working in the US, as no promotion wants to risk a lawsuit from WWE.

I have noticed they never seem to actually go to court.
