And I liked their toys too.

A lot of people are putting the blame on Musicland filing for bankruptcy. Others, just that people aren't buying collectibles as much. The article also states they're selling off some of their assets.
You know, the only time I've ever seen any AS toys was at Otakon.

I saw the AS toys from Palisades in malls all over place and even in comic book stores, but OTOH I never did know of anyone who actually picked them up. Maybe that says something.

These toys were overpriced in my opinion.

There was a big display of them at my mall's Suncoast, but they didn't seem to be selling. Most of them ended up beign discounted 50% or more.

They were as plentiful and well-priced as any other McFarlane-esque "niche" type toys, as far as I could tell. I guess I'd better get that Master Shake (and Moth Monster Man) figure ASAP. I already got Brak's Mom & Dad.
What always bugged me, though, was that for the longest time I could only find Master Shake WITH STUPID HELMET and glow-in-the-dark moth guy, instead of the regular ones. I don't know if they actually put those out first or I was just unlucky.

Same for me, except with Zim toys. Amazing how so many seemed thrilled about Zim action figures, and then no one bought them.

So, what of the Adult Swim series 2 action figures? I'd really like to have Frylock and Meatwad. As well as the Carl figure for the planned ATHF series 1.

I saw some AS Palisades stuff last time I was in Hot Topic. What? Don't look at me like that dammit!
McFarlane Toys probably gets the new license if there is one issued. I can't picture anyone else getting it.

Eh, I've zeen Zim stuff move (barring a couple particular sets which didn't move regardless of the store I was in, even at 75% off.) AS stuff just seemed to sit there though.

Dang. I was around on RWAM practically lobbying on the Palisades boards when the Zim figures came around.
Ah well...I'm not sure why I bothered back then. It's not like I ever held anything so opaque as wealth with which to buy these things.
Which...I guess was half the problem.
I think the problem with the line was that they didn't put out the characters people wanted. ATHF got the bug guy and no Meat Mad or Frylock. Sealab didn't get Capt. Murphy. HBMAAL got the Bear and Phil Ken Steben and no Birdman or Peanut.
If they put the main characters in there instead of the secondary maybe more people would have bought them. I know I would have got the Capt. Murphy and Birdman. If they put the other toys out as a second series I think more people would have bought them to "complete the set". No one is going to "start the collection" with The Bear from Harvey Birdman, sorry.

I still see them full price at Suncoast or Hot Topic. Some stores I've seen them go as high as $35. I'm better off buying two season packs from any AS show and still save money then get any of those figures.
They were better off just making a Dad and Thundercleese figure since they carried the Brak Show.

Well I bought the Adult Swim website Bizarro Debbie and Quinn, and the Suncoast limited Master Shake with Shake Singal and glow in the dark moth monster man, and now it looks like I need to snap up the remaining figures before they're sold out.
I'm sad, as I was looking forward to series 2.

Sorry, I'm kinda obsessive-compulsively anal... "the bug guy"'s name is Mothmonsterman, "Meat Mad" should be Meatwad, and "Phil Ken Steben" is Phil Ken Sebben (Or Sebbin as spelled in early episodes.).
Birdman, Birdboy (Peanut), and Avenger were all released in a set a couple years back.
I agree with you on the Captain Murphy thing.
I also agree on the Bear. The Bear never even does anything significant. Phil and Reducto would've been a better release.
Dad and Thundercleese would've been a better release than Dad and Mom. Brak and Zorak were already released in the Space Ghost: Coast To Coast set a few years back.
Master Shake should've came with Frylock, Carl, The Mooninites, or Meatwad.

Palisades is apparently handing over their assets to Limited by CAS.
Although this company that acquired Palisades may not continue all of the products, there's still a chance AS action figures will be produced.

Palisades strategy was generally to please as many fans as possible whilst shifting the stock. Alot of the licenses they picked up were collector's niche so they tried to spice it up with stuff like placing must-have characters throughout the line or you end up with stuff like World of Springfield which used all the key players in the first few waves and then was stuck with unselling die-hards-only stuff like 'Sarcastic Man'. The AS two-packs, in theory, would let them put out popular characters alongside less popular ones. You buy it for the popular character and get the less popular one with it, so pegs aren't clogged with unselling characters and retailers remain interested. It's alot like what Hasbro sometimes do with GI Joe and how the more recent Marvel Legends each have a piece to build a giant-sized iconic character.

Man I bought those ZIM figures, but some are so....fragile I leave them posed and never touch them for fear of braking them. I received a Tallest Red, his head wasn't connected at the ball joint, so when I tried, the neck snapped and I have a headless toy (which only the head is different anyway, since he's a re-paint of Purple) I was planning on sending it bakc for a replacement, well looks like it isn't happening now
and I really wanted a damn Membrane figure too...
