As said in another thread, picked up Sgt Frog/Keroro Gunsou Volume 1 today. Considered picking up Naruto as well but they only had volume 4 (wouldn't mind getting that Volume 1 + calendar set whilst it'd still be worth it).

Model kit wise, a few things should be winging their way to me this month- the first in the new series of SD Gundam kits which this year looks like combiners. Not sure if I'll complete the set but the first one looked worth picking up and was dirt cheap too. Also decided to order the ancient (probably as old as me) 3 Musha Zaku Brothers set. Bless student loans and the power of the pound over the yen. One more SD kit as a late Christmas present from a friend. He's also sending a spare copy of the first volume of the new Oh My Goddess! series he ended up with due to a mistake.

I brought the Gokudo anime boxset for $40.00 (legit version) last week.

It's a great anime with an okay english dub. :zim:

It's crazier and funnier than the Ranma 1/2 series, but with almost no filler.

I am surprised this anime has not been shown on U.S. TV, barring three fart jokes, it's a very clean series; no nudity (except for Gokudo's backside), no sex and no swearing.

And given how good the series is, I cannot believe there is no Gokudo fanfiction out on the internet. :cries:

I may have to fix this problem myself. :cool:

Finally, for stuff I got a Gundam Fix ZZ Gundam (http://www.ehobbyland.com/Gundam-MSinA/FIG-0079-FIX-0022.jpg). I find models imposing, but the Gundam Fix line is apparently rather simple and they looked quite nice. I spent 15 minutes debating between the RX-78 original, Force Impulse Gundam, Wing Gundam, Freedom, Strike Freedom, the F91, and the Double Zeta. Went with the Double Zeta mostly because the Full Armor version looked really, really cool. It should look like this (http://www.jpntoys.com/image/fix_0022.jpg) when its put together.

Sadly, I didn't see Nu Gundam around. That and Freedom or Wing would look nice alongside this thing someday.

1) Use the hook thingy that likely came with the scroll to hang it up on a nail or something else thin.

2) Get some kind of string on the top bar, and hang it up on some kind of hook.

Seriously, I just feel UK anime DVDs are lacking compared to their US counterparts. I understand they're not going to improve unless there's sales incentive to do so but given that the UK side of things seems in a rut anyway I'd rather buy the more attractive US releases.

It's not like I'm a heavy hitter anyway. What I've bought from the 2 markets in comparison:

UK- Gundam Wing Vols 1-4 (later sold for money to put towards the R1s)

US- Everything Gundam sans repacks, Galaxy Angel vols 1-3, Galaxy Angel Z vol 1, Excel Saga Imperfect Collection

Really, I'm only importing what can't be got over here.

I think it was a double feature with the F91 movie. It came out before the final ep of the OVA, so anyone who saw it got spoiled. It's become known as a text book example of how not to do a compilation movie. Since Bandai are giving us Gundam movies over series, we're getting that over the OVA. I'm buying it for completist's sake.

The colour pages (that arent colour in the TP release, but you can tell) look great, its a bit of a shame that all of it doesnt look as good.

I didn't have much trouble in the various manga relating directly to Wing (since they didn't use tints like most manga does today), but Last Outpost was rather confusing at times (which was the least of its problems, but still).

The pacing was far too fast, there wasn't a real sense of suspense, and it didn't tie into Wing very well.
