View Full Version : Should Zeta have gotten its own universe instead of being connected to Batman Beyond?

I've been pondering this for about a day or so. If it hadn't been in that world we wouldn't have been able to see the 2 crossovers (I liked them) and stuff. From what I understand the creator of the show (Robert Goodman I believe) wanted the show to be its own little thing. However, on the insistance of the network it was put in the same world as Batman Beyond? So what do you think Toonzoners?

Uh...well I'm gonna have to go witht he "he should die principle". lol, I'm kidding....well, for the most part anyway.

Anyway! It is believed that Zeta's show idea was created before Batman Beyond. I can't quote anyone about it exactly, but I can quote Adam Sandler's female SNL Gap employee character, "I'm just telling you what I heard." lol.

I don't like Zeta (a has been, done been, shouldn't have project IMO) but then I don't think it harmed the BB universe (and that, again IMO, is what matters) and we get a cross over BB episode in Zeta.

Pity the BB crossover was so Max orientated.

If it hadn't been for that, I might have given the story more of a chance!

Shriek's right. Zeta should open up a hole to the core of the earth, and burn in hell. It's just that Zeta is so corny, it belongs on Nickoloden or Fox Kids, not WB...

Eh. I don't think Zeta's problem is that it was shoehorned into the BB universe, I think it was the fact that the network was breathing down the creator's neck to be kid-friendly at all costs, which kills shows.

Well, that and the fact that the whole Zeta setup smacks of that goofy 80s movie Short Circuit...

Zeta should be in its own universe and not connected to BB, but I guess that WB execs figure that by connecting to BB, they can replace BB with Zeta while retain the rating that BB is getting.

Kid's WB had a very personal vendetta against us all.

max, zeta, and ro can become a threesome, go to a deserted island, and just leave us alone.

it is kind of ironic that KWB would want the the audience of BB viewers to watch zeta yet they want to do away with BB. if KWB wants BB's audience, this means that ratings for BB is pretty good, but then why would they want to get rid of show it ratings are strong? WB suits are really whacked in the head.

yeah, zeta was a little too kid friendly. actually, a lot too kid friendly, but it could be such a better show. for one, if the animation was more like BB, it would look a ton better. added, everywhere ro and zee went was a bright, colorful place. i know gotham can't be the only city that is dark and colorless in the BB/zeta universe. with a little work on the animation techniques and characters, it could be a good show...

by the way, is "zeta" a dead project, or are they doimg new episodes for next season? it would seem ridiculous for them to move on with this show and just drop BB when it was about 100 times better...

Zeta is coming back don't worry your little head off at all ;)

As for WB trying to replace BB and draw its audience in, I don't get it either. It seems that not only would they want to keep BB in the first place, but make Zeta darker and more sophisticated.

oh, i wasn't worried about it coming back on, just curious to see how WB screws the fans over yet again. i still haven't seen all the episodes of zeta yet, but i guess i'll catch them over the summer. i still can't believe they'll move on with zeta but dump BB like it was a worthless show. i hope they make some MAJOR improvements to zeta so they can make an infamitly small explination as to their reasons for abadonning BB....

The only robot I really liked was that No.5 or whatever his name was...
Zeta should never have been put in BB!!! I HATE THAT ROBOT!
What we should be thankfull about is that they didn't make Max spinoff series!! AGH
