Don West: "With tears in my eyes."
I had tears in my eyes, from laughing so hard at that ridculous line. http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif http://67.18.37.14/html/emoticons/laugh.gif
Seriously, this overhype of Sting making an announcement, reeks of WCW overhyping crap when they were around.

Not too bad all around.
I can't stand seeing Kenny King getting squashed again. I heard a small Kenny chant. BG's promos and Homicide's sheer presence are the only things worth noting in that story.
It is official. The stench of WWE has washed of Jackie Gayda and she is absolutely gorgeous. She can't act for a damn, though.
The AJ/Daniels thing is turning out to be very interesting. One of them will take on Joe. Or maybe will get a rematch of that unbelievable 3-way match. Could they possibly top that match?
The 6-Man Tag was alright. Good to see that they haven't forgotten about The Truth. I just can't see why they couldn't move him along with Bobby Roode and Team Canada. That'd be one more to add into Christian's camp, since they're horrendously outnumbered.
Who told Chris Sabin that dye job looked good? Same question for Alex Shelley.
And Morphoplex knows what sells. Sonjay Dutt's Hindu Press as the move of the night, and Traci and Jackie selling their product. Not bad at all.
A solid iMpact. IMO, nothing outrageously bad. The promo at the end sorta went nowhere, but since Sting wasn't there, there wasn't much they could do with it.

Am I missing something? I thought Christian was already the #1 contender via his win over Monty Brown. I can't remember him getting that title shot.
Tonight just reminded me more of how I wish Impact was two hours long. When Douglas interviewed AJ, and said he was facing Joe, I just wondered to myself "When did he earn a title shot?". Not that I mind AJ/Joe, but I wish there was some more build. Not to mention alot of the show just seems like too much going on at once.
I'll watch 1hr Impact regardless, and be happy I can see TNA finally, but just wishful thinking.

Main event for Against All Odds is Christian vs. Jarret for the title
TNA does tend to throw around the #1 contender spot alot though and never use it, just ask Abyss.

The Aj/Joe match has been set for Against all Odds. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a double turn similar to Austin/Hart from Wrestlemania XIII. Joe would be the face and Styles the heel. There were a lot of boos at Styles this week.
Ending was great with the funny Brokeback Mountain line. I liked Monty staring at the contract too.

They're pretty much gonna have to. I'm still confused as to why these scumbags in Orlando have turned on AJ Styles and there doesn't seem to be a damn thing they can do to get the crowd to boo Joe. Maybe if they have him do what Foley did in ECW and just stink up the joint every week on purpose. :D
I don't understand the point of this hour long wrestling show. A bunch of two minute matches that only have the workers doing their finisher...then a bunch of little segments that try to get a storyline across.
Then its all jumbled up and neither the wrestling nor the storylines get enough time.

This was a decent Impact.
The AJ Styles / Shannon Moore match was entertaining and I knew after the events earlier on the show that Christoper Daniels was going to cost AJ the match.
My favorite part of the show was the Christian / Jeff Jarrett segment. Jeff was actually good here and I loved Christian's "Brokeback Mountain" joke about Monty Brown and Jeff Jarrett and I laughed when Mike Tenay said "I didn't know they were that close.":D
As for Larry Z I really wish they would replace with someone else because he just isn't a good on air personality.

What on earth did Chris Sabin do to his hair?! That don't look right. I must say I'm highly disappointed that the Diamonds in the Rough appear to be glorified jobbers. That was part of the joke with David Young, but Elix Skipper definately deserves better.
Yes, that's a very pres-tigious plaque A.J. had stolen from him. I laughed. I was glad A.J. said it wasn't about the plaque itself.
As he was running around waiting for Sting, I got to thinking about Shane Douglas and his status. I was never really a fan of The Franchise, but he is ever returning to the ring or is he happy being the backstage man?
"A little bit of everything" is probably the understatement of the year when it comes to describing a team made up of Truth, Hoyt and Sharkboy. I laughed and I wouldn't be surprised if Team Canada did too. What happened to Lance Hoyt? He was becoming a fast favorite on FOX Sports Net.
So Christian is in the spade in the "Against All Odds" logo? That just looks weird.
After seeing him on Tough Enough, I'd really like to see Kenny King have a chance to showcase his talents. I suppose TNA doesn't want to talk about that, but it would probably remind more fans who he is. Couldn't they say "MTV's Tough Enough" or something like that? I only figured it out after someone said it in one of these here threads. I thought BG's 'James Gang' intro fell very flat.
I feel rather ripped off that they hype Sting and then when the show is over half over tell me he isn't going to be there? I don't think TNA is at the point where a tease is going to make or break someone watching the show.
I think Larry Zbysko does fine as an on-air character, but it appears he has no control over what is going on. He seems like he's just passing decisions down from the mysterious "TNA Management" and after what Monty Brown did, has little actual control. If someone had taken a contract out of Teddy Long's or Eric Bischoff's hands you can bet they would have regretted it.
Seems TNA is totally running with Shannon as "The Prince of Punk" at first I wondered if they were going to call him Shannon Moore. I suppose they need to build of Styles-Joe, but a street fight as they first encounter seemed out of place. The fans do seem to be turning on A.J. a bit (morons, that's the problem with same crowd every week), but I think at least half of it falls with the cult following of Daniels and Joe. They need to move Styles out of this feud to save him.
'Took out a pencil and wrote in the history books'? Brother Ray clearly should have used a pen. You don't use a pencil on history books! ;)
A "huge, major announcement"? Seems a bit redundant to me. Speaking of redundant, we've got Christian, Jarrett, Brown, Rhino and Abyss beating each other up in the final segment. I was just waiting for AMW and 3D. Can we try something else? Anything else? And I don't mean add Sting to the brawl.

I don't think TNA is at the point where a tease is going to make or break someone watching the show.I thought it was kind of funny that in the mid-show promo for next week, Tenay promised Sting in a way that made me pretty certain we would NOT see him this week. :)
On the James Gang reunion: That was really dumb. I meant to mention this on the PPV talkback, but I thought it was really stupid that they finally had the James Gang reunion match, both on PPV and television, with no build-up for either one. I'm not saying it would've popped huge numbers or anything, but the reunion of the most popular tag team of the Attitude era might've earned them a few more buys. It's not like they weren't already wasting a bunch of television time recapping the whole 4Live Kru break-up.
Finally, I think Eric Young should get an X-division push. The crowds seem to like the guy; he could give an entertaining fued with any of the faces of the division.

The James Gang's reunion fell flat to me, although Konnan's promo ruled. I enjoyed this week's show, but not as much as last week's. It's a shame that the potential return of Sting to national TV on this show wasn't given more hype. Monty was "on" though, I loved his stuff with Larry in the back, who sounded very whiny, and in the ring, when he grabbed the contract. Jarrett looked like a butch bottle of Pepto Bismol in his getup, while Monty dressed like a world champion. I'd love to see Monty get the gold; maybe he'll win it from Sting when they inevitably give him a run. That'd put Monty over more than any win over Jarrett could. I loved the street fight main event.
The Manson-esque look makes Moore look like a bad-ass, and I'm stunned he went over AJ in their first encounter. The towel stuff worked well too, and I love that Daniels is basically a heel again. The match reminded me of Kash-AJ's street fight from the Asylum, only it wasn't quite as good. My favorite line of the show was Larry saying "Montyyyyyy! MONTTYYYYYY!!" like a very upset, old Jewish man.

Believe it or else, I fell asleep during a commercial break in Styles-Moore and missed the rest of the show. Someone tell Shannon that the Mohawk doesn't look good on him. It's SO 20 YEARS AGO, FOOL!!!;) :D :)
There are a few punk rock enthusiasts where I live, but I've only seen one or two with the retro-'hawk 'do. Those that do wear the Mohawks load up on hair gel to maintain the spiky appearance. Moore looks like he forgot the gel. Then again, you do know that in WWE, Moore's fans were to be known as Moore-ons.;)
Oh, you didn't know? The James Gang rides again, but it's a nothing squash that didn't do anything for me. Kenny King, call your service. Al Snow wants to apologize for season 2 of Tough Enough. Not.;)
I've had enough of Team Canada winning. The upside this time is that they actually won it on their own without Donuts D'Amore butting in. He's the reason they constantly go over, being on the booking committee, but they have to start doing their fair share of TV jobs. And what happened to Rhino chasing after these jabronies? Has TNA forgotten this? Well, yeah. Donuts is afraid of taking major bumps.;)
By sleeping, I missed out on Jingles this week. I should be so lucky.;) I was right about K-Dork's new group going by LAX. As in, break out the Ex-Lax when these clowns have a match.;) :D I feel sorry for Simon Diamond. He's got a tag team that by all rights should be given a shot at the tag titles, but instead they're used as JTTS. And why isn't Simon wrestling more? For that matter, what about Shane Douglas? Isn't he chomping at the bit to get back in the ring? He could beat Jingles for the title, and easily, too. Elix Skipper needs to call his agent, too. Another few months of this BS will have me calling him Skippy the Wonder Dork again, as I did when he was in WCW way back.

Shannon Moore does not deserve a dueling chant. Other then that Impact was alright.

For that matter, what about Shane Douglas? Isn't he chomping at the bit to get back in the ring? That's probably a 'yes' and a 'no'... I think Douglas is semi-retired now, has been since mid 2004 as he slid into the age of 40 in November of that year. Keep in mind how vocal he was in the day about Flair and Hogan staying in the business too long; I think he's really trying to practice what he preaches. The second half of 2005, it doesn't look like he did any wrestling outside of the two Hardcore Homecoming shows which he put a lot of himself into.

Well, they were the biggest-drawing team for the Attitude era. Between their initial run as the NAO and then as DX, they drew tons.

Also they were the easily the most quotable. Everyone in school would always say their catchphrases.
