I've been looking at my Direct TV Guide recently and shows like "Scooby Doo Where are you?", "Tom & Jerry", "A Pup Named Scooby Doo" & "Tom & Jerry Kids" are listed. Any thoughts on this?

They're part of Tickle U.
Why? Mind you, it's a good idea to include shows familar to the audience (why did CN waste so much airtime on "Hamtaro", and then not bring it back when there was finally a proper block for it?), but why now? Why did they pursue the suicidal course of introducing a block with nothing but new shows?

Well at least they are back but they should be only on boomerang.

Doesn't airing the original Tom and Jerry shorts contradict the block's original intention?
Discourages the use of humor based upon insult or injury.
Not that I have a problem with T&J being on TU.

tom and jerry has normally been on lately, it just took a little breeak for some(unneccessarry) marathons, so it is back
pup named scooby doo and tom and jerry kids are on tickle u, and this was announced in another thread fyi, and haven't aired for a while(i think pup was airing fridays at 4-6am until about a year or so ago, t&j kids hasn't been on in a while) sd hasnt been on in a while either, but it really should have stayed on boomerang

I wish that Cartoon Network would consider bring back some classic loony toons shows. I dont have Boomerang and I would be pleased with at least 30 minutes worth a day.

Tom and Jerry is not part of Tickle U. It airs right after Tickle U on regular CN. The other shows all promote Tickle U's comedy theme along with teaching educational values, which is why they were brought back. As for Tom & Jerry, it has never left the network, so it's kind of difficult for it to be back. Tom & Jerry Kids is part of Tickle U though.

No Boomerang for me, so seeing T&J Kids, Pup Named Scooby-Doo, and Where Are You? back on CN for the first time since the end of Power House was a pleasant surprise for me.
Tom and Jerry might be part of Tickle U because while i was watching it wednesday they switched between th CN and TIckle U logo , but in Scooby Doo where are you they just had the CN logo. Also during Tickle U After Gerald Mc Boing boing which started at 9 30 and ended at 945. They played A Tom and Jerry short, and after that they went directly to the Pup Named Scooby Doo theme song. That being said I think Tom and Jerry is a part of Tickle U, which just makes me so confused:confused: . On a different note Iacon45 i also wish Looney Tunes could be brought back, since they do play Baby Looney Tunes. I mean it just doesnt seem right if this generation of kids knows the Baby Looney Tunes and not the regular Looney Tunes.

Maybe it's Tickle U, depending on what airs during the early part of the day. I wouldn't know, since I rarely watch CN during 6 AM to 1 PM. What confuses me is that Tickle U hasn't updated the site -- reflecting the changes, and that there isn't a Tickle U section on CN's little navigation bar. Anyway, it is a nice little bonus to have Tom and Jerry Kids and Scooby-Doo return to CN.

As far as I can tell, Tickle U no longer exists. Nothing's being advertised as being "part of Tickle U" but rather only being on "Cartoon Network", and in the past two days, everytime I check it out I see the CN logo (even during Gerald McBoingBoing).
EDIT:
And I guess I was wrong. Now, during Peppa Pig, they've got a dual CN/Tickle U logo going on. I now have no idea where CN stops and Tickle U begins.

The great thing with Hamtaro now is there is a ton of merchandise for them now. Books, toys, party items, video games, you name it. Yet CN pushed this money maker away. Sure I'm not in the target demographic, but I found this show better than a majority of anime targeted at young children and didn't look down on their auidence.
If there is any place that Hamtaro should be put back on CN, it's Tickle U. Not 2 different Scooby Doo shows which have taught me as a child that I can get away with anything as long as we catch some dude in a suit. We can break priceless pieces of history, steal large amounts of food, and even destroy key evidence to a crime scene. But hey we found this guy who was looking for treasure on a piece of property he owned a majority of his life! Arrest him please for treasure hunting in his backyard!

So is Tickle U even doing good at all in ratings? If not... I got an idea, Bring back "Boomerang on Cartoon Network."

Never going to happen. They aren't even scheduled on Boomerang anymore. A Pup Named Scooby-Doo and Tom & Jerry Kids are both on Boomerang daily.

huh? they're not even on Boomerange anymore? thats really low CN :( T&J and Scooby Doo are beyond played out at this point :(
So Tickle-U is doing bad?
Makes me wonder if a Tickle-U-over-Boomerang network would have worked... meh, probably not.

The only logical explanation for T&J and the Scooby shows being on is that a lot of parents (and maybe the kids, too) saw right through Tickle U's phony premise (pre-schoolers learning to have a sense of humor) and its cartoons with plots and animation about as exciting as white bread and mayonnaise.
And they were most displeased, showing their displeasure in these words:
"Give us Scooby!"
"Give us Tom and Jerry!"
P.S. Besides, Scooby and T&J are popular among the diaper set.

That and Scooby Doo was on ALL THE TIME. That show, PPG, and Dexter were on like crazy. I liked those shows, but they played it soo many times. It's kind of like what they're doing with Foster's, the Eds, and Grim today. On the plus side, they weren't nearly as bad with Scooby Doo as they were with most their shows today.
Wasnt Tom and Jerry on the schedule for a while? I remember it being the only classic show that CN didnt make.

I remember when folks cried foul over Scooby-Doo being aired on CN too much, and now, folks are doing the same thing that CN isn't airing enough of the classics.

As elated as I am about SWAT Kats coming back....I'm kinda curious as to WHY. New episodes...maybe? We can hope. (Can also hope if there are, they don't suck...)

Let's just say that T-Bone and Razor (the SWAT Kats of the title, natch!) have something in common with A Certain K!WB (or is it K!CW?) Series That Shall Remain Nameless.
And if said show is a success, perhaps it will rekindle interest in the SKTRS series enough to warrant a revival.
(Go ahead! They laughed at TMNT being revived, I'm sure.)

Scooby Doo isn't one of my classics. Scooby Doo was a mistake in animation that caught on this trend of slackers and laziness that continued into today's animation. Yet everyone loves it and it boggles my mind. People hate all of the cheap clones outside of Josie and the Pussycats, but it's the same pattern. Well people hate Scrappy. Scrappy may be one of the worst cartoon characters ever, but Scooby Movies and A Pup Named Scooby Doo displays some of the gang's worst moments.
Also the humor is very dry. People say there is a ton of humor in the shows and I can't find it. Not in the Mystery Machine. Not in the Spooky House. Not inside the pantry Shaggy and Scooby raid. Not in the Harlem Globetrotters van that shows up every now and then. No humor anywhere. I can watch an older LT short or HB cartoon and get more laughs out of one segment than an entire season of Scooby Doo. And Scooby Doo is more modern! Does anyone see the problem? You go from the quality of writing and humor in Top Cat to Scooby Doo and we've got a problem.
If I was given the choice by CN themselves, then I'd go crazy and air Looney Tunes and MGM shorts for 7 hours a day over any Scooby Doo show or movie getting one half hour block.

I've been watching "Tickle U" a few times over the week. I don't see the "mommy bar," the mascots, or even much of the Tickle U branding anymore. I still see Tickle U shows like Gerald McBoingBoing and Little Robots, but I see classic shows like Tom and Jerry and Scooby. When it cuts to a commercial, it's just regular CN branding. So can we say "No Pre-School Boomerang?" If so, mission accomplished. :D

As far as I know, Tickle U doesn't exist anymore, but the shows that aired in the block are still around.

It does, because they still use the TickleU bug during the Tickle U programming.
They just don't brand any of the shows that way during their advertising.

My guess is they're going to try to restructure and rebrand the whole Tickle U concept. The non-animated violence aspect and "mommy bar" didn't appear to cut it, so they're probably going to work on some new ideas.
If Tickle U must continue, I say just add those two Tickle U characters saying "funny things" to little kids before shows, during commercial breaks, and that's about it. Basically, make it like Miguzi, heck for all I care, make it Miguzi, it resembles a preschool block more than an action block anyway.

The name Tickle U is gone, I think every one over 3 just thanked God for that! My three year old little niece was watching it and said, "Tat sucks!" (She learned most of the cuss words, and 'inappropriate' words, from me and her older sister.)

I just remember reading on a SWAT Kats forum somewhere that new episodes weren't out of the question and could actually be in production or something of the sort, and then all of a sudden...SWAT Kats was coming back to CN. Coincedence, maybe?
