Now, how did I miss this one?
UPN aired the Fat Albert Christmas Special on Christmas Eve, and actually won its time slot among Adults 18-34, Women 18-34 and Kids 2-11. This was the original show that originally aired in 1974. UPN is now reportedly trying to get Hallmark Entertainment, which owns the rights to FA and the other Filmation shows, to let it air other Fat Albert specials (Easter and Halloween have been mentioned) in the upcoming year. You can read the article here. (http://tv.yahoo.com/news/va/20011230/100977902200.html)
Sighhh... I fall asleep at the switch once and see what happens? Missed Fat Albert. Excuse me, must beat my head against the clubhouse down at the dump...
And let me thank Cartoon Research (http://www.cartoonresearch.com) and Mr. Beck for the originally posting this item. Good site for an insider's view of the industry.

Equally personally, the NWO beat the stuffins out of all of 'em. And DX beat them.

Also, I forgot to mention that Forrest Whitaker is heading up a live-action production of Fat Albert for the big screen, due summer 2003. If anything takes the wind from the sails of S.S. F.A., it'll be that.

I wonder why FA has had a resurge in popularity... It never particularly caught my interest.

I got to see the special by sheer luck. I knew it was supposed to be on, but I forgot when. I just happened to check the TV listings Christmas night and saw it listed. It was pretty cool. They really need to bring that show back, either in re-runs on Cartoon Network, or DVD, or something.

Well They could JR Size Fat Albert and make a new show out of that. They did that with Scooby, the Flinstones, Muppets, and everyone else pratically. Or mabye show him as a Dad(you know, Fat Albert and Sons!) They did that with Popye and the Pink Panther. Well, come to think of it, that idea wasn't very successful, was it? Oh well you all are right. Just re run the classic stuff and let it be.
