With all the difference outcomes this will have with a poll, I've decided to allow the person who post can describe what kind of neighborhood they live in.

With that I'll start with my neighborhood. I live on a quiet street with a bunch of old houses from the 1910's, 20's, and 30's which are very well kept. Most aren't that big like mansions. Surrounding my neighborhood are some nice homes they are way different from our style, but they aren't as great as our street has expect for the street up to us on a hill. Oh one more thing, I'm a couple of blocks away from a cementary and I'm right next to a middle school which hopefully will be torn down because they're moving everyone to new schools next year and probably our neighborhood will critize someone who buys the school and turns it into a low income apartments which could into a violent and drug ridden area.

Now it's your turn...

You know those subdivisions that has semi-big houses out in the middle of the country, but close to a city? [Not exactly the suburbs]

Yeah, I live in that neighborhood. Nice and quiet, besides the numerous meth busts that goes on elsewhere.

I'll just babble.

I live in a crappy neighborhood. It's mainly hispanically-populated, probably about 90%. But it's just very blargh. The houses are old, and people move in and out frequently. It's such a sucky neighborhood, there has actually been drug-heads shooting up in the alley behind my house. Not just once or twice, either. Several times. Though now, cops drive through the alley more often, so usage in our alley has lessened.

But in the ten years that I've lived here, I've noticed that the crime level fluctuates greatly and often. When my parents first moved here, there'd be sirens every night, gun shots every other; then it got quieter for a few years, but now there are gun shots all the time again. Within the last week, I've heard gun shots at night, four times now, and my father said that he heard some last night too. However, we rarely hear sirens anymore.

It sounds crappier than it is, really. I mean, we haven't had much trouble, aside from a few things being stolen, car windows smashed a few times, oh and there was that incident when our tree fell on a van... yeah, that was craziness. I know it could be worse though. I've seen worse neighborhoods. It's not posh, by any means, but it's home.

And I just noticed that there is no "Do" in the title. For shame.

On the edge between civilization and "the hills"

!960's subdivision, tiny houses, tiny yards. The neighbors are mostly retired senior citizens, with a few new families with babies/toddlers. New plastic subdivisions going up all around like crazy and an increase in traffic that makes it very dangerous to ride my bike close to home. three miles out away from town, is open farmland and tiny towns for miles and miles. About ten miles away, is the river with the old C&O Canal for bike rides in the trees and in the other direction, the Allegany Mountains for hiking. About a halfhour drive is Whitetail Ski resort,,, I don't get to go much anymore but it was a lot of fun. [/more than you wanted to know]

Sounds similar to my neighborhood. Most of my neighborhood was built between 1880-1930. A few mansions, etc., but mostly more modest homes and bungalows. Lots of house styles-some Victorian, some Prairie, a few Modern. Four Frank Lloyd Wright houses are in the neighborhood. My house was built in 1914. A large part of the neighborhood is on the National Register of Historic Places. A pretty quiet neighborhood, wih lots of kids playing outside on nice days.
It's a really safe neighborhood, one of the lowest crime rates in the city. The neighborhood to the east gets a little sketchy in parts, to the north and west the neighborhoods have smaller, newer houses and are pretty safe.

The Sprawl, complete with Cyberpunk gangs, cyborg supersoldiers, and top secret rouge government labs.

Sure, the place looks like Neo-Tokyo, but it has free Internet.

Not in a very good neighborhood. Low-income, live in an area where many meth labs were/are. We hear sirens go off quite frequently, and our streets aren't lit up very brightly. The nearest convenience store (which is a few blocks away) gets robbed quite frequently. Right before I returned home from Mexico, some drunk dude had hit a nearby fence and a house not too far from where we live -- so, it's not the best place to be.

Small apartment community right on the foothills of Pikes Peak. Really windy on some nights but the view is beautiful.

I love my neighborhood. I live in a fairly new town. My neighborhood began around 2001. Everyone is really nice and friendly. We have a nice park, clubhouse, tennis court, pool, etc etc ..you know the typical neighborly stuff and I have a lot of friends that live near me in the same neighborhood so it's all good. I'm a happy goer.

My neighbourhood is a U shaped one with old, almost identical red bricked houses accompanied with perfectly manicured front yards. The people living in it are all wealthy, old people who can always be seen driving their porshes or walking their very pampered pet dogs. Its also very quiet. Almost suffocatingly so. The backyards are large strech of green grass and don't have boundaries.

My neighborhood is full of houses built in the 60s. It can be relatively quiet, and I hardly ever see kids. Sometimes you hear ambulences, but that's because it's down the street from a hospital. It's also really boring but has a short walk to a playground.

Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn, NYC. A very nice neighborhood, not a lot of crime, very calm. And proud to be a Brooklynite :D.

My neighborhood is at the bottom of a hill, the houses in said neighborhood are one-level houses. Of course, my house is the coolest house in the entire neighborhood, do you know why? Because it's green and yellow!

Now about the people who live in the neighborhood. The people are mostly Caucasian, with a few Hispanics and Middle Easterns. Besides myself and my parents, there are very few African-Americans who live here. There used to be a few others, however they moved.

Most of the people that live here consist of families, with exception of a few single mothers, a divorced woman and her poodle, an old couple whose children are grown, a childless couple, and a few old ladies who children are also grown. Oh, and an old man who lives by himself, whose also has grown children.

As for the neighborhood itself, it is mostly quiet except for when the Middle Easterners have a party. In my opinion, the neighborhood is fairly good if not a bit dull. I mean, the neighborhood on the right side of the bottom of the hill
has a swimming pool, a volleyball court, a tennis court, and a small playground.
And what does our neighborhood have? Absolutely nothing. I tell you, it's a crying shame.

Thank you, that is all.
