I felt like we needed another good topic...this was it! :)
Here's my first post, on the topic "Shows That Need To Be Seen On CN" on August 7th, 2001...
_____
"Bah....maybe Pokemon woulda stayed popular if they did not air all those episodes. I can tell you the majority of the people who use to like it got sick of all that airtime; the show kinda wore off after a while because of seeing it all the time.
As for Scooby, well, I always thought it had been a good show, something to pass the time with while waiting for the show I REALLY wanted to see...till they made the first video outta it. Then in Cartoon Network after that Scooby was being aired nearly every single moment...and I swear that they cut off some show's theme songs or credits just for more Scooby promos and commericals! Sounds dumb there, yeah-but it could be a subtle way to get Scooby in on other show's slots... !"

Back then, I said the obvious. Maybe I was a parrot in a former life. :D

Actually, my first post was in defense of Pokemon, I think. Or rather, a realistic look at how to approach the Pokemon franchise.
I was not too popular back then. I guess I'm less confrontational these days. ;)

Larry honestly I couldn't imagine you getting into it with someone.
I think mine was something along the lines of.
"High I'm new here."
Of coarse then I did my "what makes a good villan threads." which where fun.

*sighs* let's try this again...
I registered so I could play the Batman Beyond Quote Quiz, but, according to the search, my first post was on a thread called "I dare ya to say something nice about the zeta project" on the BB forum back in early August:
"i don't throw things at the tv while watching it. :p"
Yeah...that's still the only nice thing I can say about it.

I haven't been a member long so my first post many of you probably remember, it was Dec. 20 and I started my own thread to say hello.

What's wrong with the Penguin?
Hi, I'm new to the board so I thought I would say hello and ask a question.
I noticed a lot of people said to get rid of my favorite Batman villain, The Penguin, in the "Batman Hit List." Most people who picked him said he was pointless or he sucks so I was just curious why some of you feel that way.
**************************************************
Well there it is. Happy New Year eveybody!

I can't remember what I had for dinner last night, much less what I posted on the Adult Swim board 3 weeks ago. Oh yeah, I had Steak & Shake!

I think my first post on the TZ boards was some mumbo jumbo 'cause the boards hadn't been officially opened.

I think my first post was on the CCF forum about how I liked Time Squad. Well, it was either that or how much I hate "Land Before Time"...

"Hi, I'm new here"
Or something along those lines.

My first posts here at Toon Zone were actually test posts. My first substantive post was on the question of which episode of Batman Beyond was the most forgettable.
Test driving my new I.D. I got tired of being me, and with the new boards it seemed like a good time to try something new.....
If by "forgettable" you mean: an episode that is so vapid that you forget it even exists, then "Where's Terry?" and "The Winning Edge" immediately leap to mind. (Or is that, immediately don't leap to mind?)
If you mean: an episode that you wish you could forget exists, then "Speak No Evil" (if I wanted a Capt. Planet episode I'd watch "Capt. Planet") and "Plague" are ones I'd just as soon see disappear into a very small black hole.
I had changed my user name when we moved to Toon Zone. That's why the opening comment.

Well, I'm game, so here it is
My Thoughts
To start, I'm new here..which is probably why I don't look familier.
I have to say that in my opinion, the best Batman/Batgirl/Robin Characterization was in BB:ROTJ. You see the stuggle Bruce has to maintain control of everything, and how much the Joker bothers him. You see how Batgirl & Robin become so disinfranchised, and how things turned out like they did. It wasn't a great character ep for Terry though. I think "Rebirth" was betterer.
on this thread
Toon Zone Forums > The Toons > Batman, Superman, & Beyond > Fresh Question #2: Best Character Episode
oh yeah, it was a thread killer, as no one's replied after me! =D

Found my first post. It was in a thread welcoming someone (Whether a newbie or someone who made the transition from the old boards, I forgot to check).
joker wrote:
i thought bonjour meant good bye
To which I replied
I can't tell whether he's being sarcastic or not. But just to be on the safe side, Bonjour is French for hello.
BTW, bonjour all.
And just to humor me, joker then responded
yes that was sarcasim, its so much harded to make jokes(even if there no good) on the pooter
And I said
My friend invented the <sarcasm> tags, which basically goes around any statement you intended to be sarcastic.
For example <sarcasm>I think Dark Angel is an extremely ground-breaking, original and creative drama and James Cameron deserves a medal for it</sarcasm>
Although, now that I think about it, many people use <sarcasm> tags so it was probably not invented by my friend.

Great topic! I had already posted a few messages on the earlier Toozone forums but as far as these boards are concerned, here's mine:

Yeah... at least, they have got to mention the events that occured in Legacy . I must say Timm's latest interview disappointed me a little... he said something like "sure, there's some sort of continuity, but hey, who gives a damn!"... well I do.
I wish I could recall my first WF post ever...

I think my first post was actually a suggestion I had for Fresh Question #1 on the BB board. Something in the vein of "do you think BB has made enuogh of an impact to be part of the regular Batman continuum or whether it'll just fade away over time."

Jeez, on the TZ forums it was probably one of the WF boards that was titled Welcome to the New Boards, or something like that.
First ever? I really don't remember...

My first post was to burst everyone's bubble conscerning Onstar's contest where the grand prize winner gets a walk-on part in the next Batman movie:
Onstar Contest Rules
The rules actually state: "In the event that the next Batman film is not in production prior to 12/31/03, the walk-on part of the Grand Prize will not be fulfilled." I think they'd still get the trip to LA, and there's some cool 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes available.

I just went back and reread my first post,
My first post was a thread that I made when I first saw the Justice league cartoon.
It was about Wonder Woman and it was on the Justice League Board
I really liked Wonder woman, I think she is like totally kewl.
But, good god, I read what I posted and looking back at it now I sounded like a totally airhead. I think I am really embarrassed.
Also, from rereading that thread.
I just wanna thank Kid flash, Vincent Benenati and Jowy Blight for being so nice and welcoming me.
so, if you guys get a chance to read this,
it's really sweet of you and thank you
That's why I like this forum, alot of really nice and sweet people.

Question about VCDs
Does anybody here know about VCDs? I understand that they are digital video discs, but not quite as sharp as a DVD. Do they play on DVD players? And how would I know if I could play VCDs on my DVD player?
Additionally, I notice that there are several cartoons and animated TV shows available on the VCD format (ALOT of them on Ebay!) but not on DVD. Are these official releases or bootlegs?
I don't have any experience with VCDs so if anybody could provide any information, or point me in the direction where I could get that information, I would be grateful.
