This news is a couple months old, I know, but just thought I'd pass on the word if you haven't heard yet: (courtesy of IGN)
November 11, 2005 - Empire Interactive's budget division known as Xplosiv has announced that Taito Legends 2 is already in the middle of an English translation process. Known in Japan as Taito Memories: Gekkan, Legends 2 will be shipping to UK and other European outlets sometime in 2006 and will feature a number of classic titles not found in the original collection.
"Taito Legends 2 is the ultimate companion to the best selling Taito Legends, which went straight to number one in the charts" said James Spice, General Manager Xplosiv. "After the success of Taito Legends we have listened to the fans to bring them a second collection that contains the games that they have been clamoring for and will complete their classic Taito collection."
So what exactly is in this collection? Glad you asked. The final lineup stacks up like this:
Alpine Ski, Arabian Magic, Balloon Bomber, Bonze Adventure, Cameltry, Chack'n' Pop, Cleopatra Fortune, Crazy Balloon, Darius Gaiden, Dungeon Magic, Don Doko Don, Elevator Action Returns, The Fairyland Story, Football Champ (Hat-Trick Hero), Frontline, G Darius, Gekirindan, Grid Seeker: Project, Storm Hammer, Growl, Gun Frontier, Insector X, KiKi KaiKai, Kuri Kinton, Legend of Kage, Liquid Kids, Lunar Rescue, Metal Black, Puzzle Bobble 2, Puchi Carat, PuLiRuLa, Qix, Raimais, Rastan 2, Ray Storm, Space Invaders 95, Space Invaders DX, Super Space Invaders 91, Syvalion, Violence Fight, and Wild Western.
A North American release for Taito Legends 2 has yet to be announced, but we did contact the first game's U.S. publisher SEGA for comment, but representatives declined to give one. We'll keep you updated as it develops. So yeah, barring some unforseen development ( :D ) I'd say an American release seems almost inevitable.
Wow, once again I know about half of those titles. Cameltry is very fun (known in the U.S. as "On the Ball" for SNES)- it's a puzzle game where you rotate the level to make your marble fall to the goal. Looking forward to that one, in addition to Puzzle Bobble 2, Ray Storm, and Darius Gaiden.
