I hope i'm not the only person that does this but....
Have you ever started playing an RPG, but lost interest for some reason and stop playing for a while? Then, another RPG you were waiting for is released so you pick it up and start to play it; starting the viscious cycle all over again....
I really need to get into that pile of "RPGs i need to beat"

I do this with a lot of RPGs (though I don't usually move from one RPG to another, but rather to another type of game). Sometimes this is because they're too long and not interesting enough to keep my interest, but sometimes it's because the structure of the game is poorly done.
I often give up on (and later revisit) the Final Fantasy games because of the way side quests are handled. You race towards beating an ultimate evil through most of the game, but right before the big, decisive battle, all sorts of inconsequential side quests open up. It ruins the pacing for me. After fetching something for some old man, helping some village with a minor problem, or finding optional bosses, I just don't care about the story anymore.
I realize these are optional, but I don't have much desire to play a 50+ hour game twice, so I like to see all there is to see on the first play through. More games need to space these optional quests throughout the game, instead of only giving you free control of your airship at the very end.

I do that with every game I buy, not just with RPGs.

Pretty much the same thing that happens to me. The thing is, 90% of the games I buy are RPGs. My backlog of games has about 8-9 RPGs to finish. Oi. I just started getting back to Digital Devil Saga 1. So far it's really fun, and I don't know why I didn't play it straight through when I first got it.

Final Fantasy II fits into that category pretty well. The skill system is just too tedious for me to justify working on this game!

That happens to me all the time.
I sometims buy an RPG because I`m watitng for one I`m REALLY interested in to come out, then I get a little bored with that one and do the other one full through when it comes, and then go back to the first one.
Right now it was:
FF4 GBA START---> Wild arms ACF START-END ---> FF4 GBA END(ing)
I`ll definitely be able to finish FF4 before wild Arm 4 comes out, though. ^_^

This is probably my nastiest habit when it comes to video games. I actually said to myself that my New Year's Resolution will be to finish a majority of the RPGs in my game library...
...But right after I beat DQVIII.

I do that with most RPGs. I'm sure my most heinous crime of this nature is the fact that I have yet to complete Final Fantasy 7.

I used to do that
But then I decided to beat every single Final Fantasy in sucession, I pretty much had the entire series, yet it remained unbeaten. So I beat them...
Though funny thin is, i was stuck at the beginning of 6 when I first got it back when it was released on the PSX. I didn't realise the button combs that you needed to kill the boss, I was pressing the X button at the wrong time, it went X "button" combo X button, I kept pressing the X button twice and then the combo and never got past that part when I first played it.
AND I REGRET NOTHING, I STILL WANT MORE!
Except 11, you can't beat 11 and it's an MMORPG

Most of the games I own are Fighting games or Rhythm games, besides all my old RPG's, it's easy to just move between games.

I always stick with games till I beat them. The only exceptions is if a game is really bad, like Digimon World 2. That game was a piece of crap. Or I suppose if something happens like I lose a save or something like that.

I lose interest in more games than I play all the way through, and this is especially true for RPGs due to their typical lengths.
Oh, well.

I hear you. Except my resolution starts with DQVIII, and I'm only about 60 hours into it and there's positively no ending in sight. I'm still greatly enjoying myself, but it's definitely a test of one's will to continue. Especially since for a time I quit games for good after just five hours (San Andreas, I'm looking in your general direction). With RPGs I always tended to last longer, but lately I haven't been playing that many RPGs because there aren't many good ones out anyways.
