Do you own a copy of Danger Doom: The Mouse and the Mask?

What's with the poll options? They're diverse, I guess. Anyway, naw, I don't own it. Tryed it out through that thing that was hosted not too long ago. It's not bad at all, but Danger Mouse seems to have a curse on having to follow up on good producers' previous attachments' sequels. Gorillaz and Doom both came nice with Dan the Automater and Madlib respectively. Not to say Danger Mouse is bad, he's the opposite. It just doesn't leave anywhere near the impression on me that Madvillainy did, despite even featuring AS. Once again, not bad, worth owning, but I haven't rushed to Reinassance to get it(Though, all the music buying I have been doing lately may have had a part). Will I own it in the soon-to-be-not-much-future? Oh yeah, yeah I will, just might be after Danger Doom 2 and Madvillainy 2. Tiny bit above average is how my first impression was handled.

Ya, I bought it. But for the mere fact that it was [AS]. I actually ended up really liking it though.

I chose, "Yes, I own the album, and also my dog is currently getting into the garbage again when I keep telling him not to; its like, I try to be firm, but I've always had this issue with punishment, y'know?"
I might of bought it if it wasnt advertised so much.

What's wrong with 'em? On the Toonami board that asked you wheter or not you owned Daft Punk "Discovery", and the only "No" responce was that I wasn't into Daft Punk, although I love their music.

It is an [adult swim] inspired rap album.
I might of bought it if it wasnt advertised so much.I know man, Dangermouse was the shizz when he was just goofin' around with like Jay Z and the Beatles and no one knew who he was--same thing for MF Doom I mean man do you think anyone who listened to DangerDoom has ever heard King Gheedorah? pfffff n00bs.
Now they got commercials all up in the streets and tv and now everyone's like "LOL HAVEA YOU HEARD DANGERDOOM? THEY ARE EXCITING NEW RAPPER, NEXT EMINEM!" and man what is the point of being a fan of mfdoom if everyone else is??:confused::confused:

At least we still have Take Me To Your Leader, Operation Doomsday and Vaudeville Villain.
As for Dangerdoom, I liked it a good amount. Dangermouse's beats are occasionally middle-of-the-road, but Doom still is smooth like butter. My favorite song is "Mince Meat."

I'm guessing your opinion of him still hasn't changed?

Going back, I completely missed it. Sarcasm does not translate well to the internet.

I got it and like it. If I had to complain about anything though is that it's too short (NO mass market cd should be shorter than an hour). Also, I liked the version of Sofa King that was on Epitath's website better (I think that's where I got it anyway).

Voted other. I don't really know exactly what it is, but from what I know about it, No.

I just don't understand why someone would buy a cd just cause its associated with a television block. I mean, its like buying a "Must See TV" t-shirt.

I got it for Christmas and just listened to it today. Quite a drop-off from Madvilliany. I thought Dangermouse did a good job on the Gorillaz album, production-wise, but then I read that most of the keyboards/effects are by the Blur guy.
Oh and the AS skits don't really hurt or enhance it in my opinion. They do seem REALLY old though. Where's Riley? Where's Stoned Peanut Cop?
Madlib and Doom should be a permanent team.

I liked some of the beats so I bootlegged it and then I felt kinda guilty and I had the money so I bought it. I eventually got tired of it tho.

My vote went to Other. I initially purchased the album due to its AS hype and the big team-up of MF Doom and Danger Mouse. While somewhat familiar with their work, I was mainly going by their notoriety and the good things I've heard about them.
I thought Doom/DM's performance was good, although I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. The AS collaboration seemed forced at times in some songs. While it mostly works great, the connection never really felt natural. Overall, it sounded like both AS and Doom/DM could've done better. The AS humor didn't really come off on the album, and it sounded more like an obligatory commercial. Instead of using the AS material to their advantage, it felt like Doom/DM seemed more restricted.

I Agree in the sence that some of MF Doom's other stuff ( mmm...Food, Special Herbs 0-9) are a lot freer(is that a word) flows. But , overall i loved it.
By the way has it been mentioned that:

That's gonna be on Stones Throw, right? That's one of the best labels around. I can't wait to see how it turns out, but I hope there's less AS sampling and more actual music. That's ultimately what killed a few tracks on Danger Doom.
