View Full Version : Third Golden Sun?
It's been a while since I last checked out the third game in the trilogy, but whatever happened to the final Golden Sun game? Did it get canned or something?

I guess so. Al the fansites have closed down and nobody's heard anything on it.
Defnitely a lot of room for a sequel. It had the classic set up for the beginning of a quest in its ending, with an immortal enemy sealed away under a mountain, vowing revenge. Plus, we still have to know what is the deal with that giant waterfall.

I forget if it is officially confirmed, but there has been word in the past that Camelot has been working on a RPG for the Revolution for quite awhile. While they haven't said any more about it, we know that they have wanted to continue Golden Sun and that they definitely left it open to continue. Assuming it isn't a Mario Golf or Tennis RPG for the Revolution, we may perhaps have Golden Sun Revolution around launch time.

That's definately an understatement considering the ending to Lost Age.

I just hope it's somehow linkable to the GBA so I don't have to type that 30 page password to transfer my data.

Theoretically, considering that the Revolution will include all of the controller and memory card ports that were available on the GameCube, they could utilize the GBA<-->GameCube link cable.

That'll be nice, considering that's how I transferred my data between the first two games.

I personally didn't like the first 2 games very much. It got very tedious reading that much text about characters that I never developed much liking for. What made it worse is that they just stood there. Other RPG's do it right by making them move and having their sprites change to suit their mood and actions, like Chrono Trigger. I must admit though, they had some awesome battle engines in Golden Sun, what with the amount of cool attacks and stats to play around with. The graphics were incredible too. I just never learned to appreciate the characters as they just seem far too generic. Square and Sega RPG's usually have characters that I adore for their uniqueness, their quirks, their designs and of course, the way they act and talk and interact with each other to add to the storyline. Golden Sun didn't really seem to do this, not within the party anyway.
Golden Sun 2, I simply put this away for years on end before even getting half way through. There didn't seem to be any kind of set course, you just wondered around all over the place doing things that to me, didn't really serve any purpose. Most of the time, I didn't know what my objective actually was. They should have worked a little harder on the storyline and dialogue because IMO it's just far too generic and uninteresting.
