Wow, I know $34.99 ain't the MSRP. Just bought it though.

From the few rounds I played at a friends house, I thought it was pretty good, but it'd take time to get used to again, since it's been awhile since I played DOA3 or DOAU.

Best 360 title thus far, Team Ninja has done it yet again with DOA 4, great online play, lots of unlockables, great graphics, and most importantly kick ass gameplay.

Does it have more depth than the previous iterations? I'm not really big into 3D fighters [2D guy myself, SNK...], but I am interested in getting DOA4 when I get a 360 soon. Also, how smooth is Live?

It is very smooth online though there was one match where it lagged, but not crappy lag more like slow-motion. My god, the gameplay on this is so fast. Best DOA yet despite I have to get my counter skills back up.

Don't have the 360 yet, but if and when I get it, this will certainly be one of the first titles I buy for it.

Meh, I have all major iterations of DOA (1, Ultimate, 3, 4), and the series still doesn't hold a candle to the Capcom's. Good waste of time with my 360 though.

...Yeah, you play the Capcom series a bit too much. We need to get together soon and try some Dead or Alive. I'm actually decent at that game.

Well, that's THE fighter company I was raised on. (And own on, as you've seen)

Now, it's not to say I don't have fun in DOA. But in this, you can win rounds just by hitting punch and kick. Heck, those are the only real attacks. Combos seem to come off by accident.

snake']Does it have more depth than the previous iterations? Not really.

It's basically Dead or Alive Ultimate with more characters, prettier backgrounds, more brutal AI, and a tighter timeframe for counters. ...and that's fine with me because I really liked DOAU. Kinda disappointed in the selection of unlockable costumes...it's slimmer this time around, and even with that smaller number, too many are palette swap-ish. The gameplay itself is great, though, if you liked the earlier installments.

OK, I finally got to play it with some fighting game club friends... Incredibly fun, but still same old DOA silly gameplay. It's even less legit than before, but it's also a lot more fun at the same time, so it doesn't matter. Definitely getting this when I find a 360. It's even more fun to watch 2 DOA n00bs go at it with the mashing, as it seems to make the game go crazy and pull of all kinds of ridiculous stuff. I don't see how anyone could not have fun with this game.

XBL = more costumes most likely. And I'm sure they'll have some other new stuff on Live...

Hence partially why I got DOA4. Yeah, it's an online fighter, which is good, but I can see Microsoft/Tecmo supporting this game for a while via Live.
