This time it's not about the highly praised and loved Mario Kart DS, but it's about Mario Kart: The Arcade Game. That's right, the one from Namco and Nintendo, has anyone played it yet? I played it yesterday at Gameworks and let me say, after the dissapointment that was StarFox Assault, Namco really pulled themselves together and fixed it up. I thought it was really fun playing against 3 other players and even playing some rounds by myself. Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, and Blinky were alright additions, and I thought Pac-Man was almost as good as Toad, my all-time favorite MK player. The photo feature is fun and really funny too. And since it was the after-hours of Gameworks (21 and older) there were some funny pictures including alcoholic beverages. :p This isn't as great as Mario Kart DS, but it's great arcade fun and I think that some of the elements (the photo one, the return of coins, etc.) should be incorporated in future titles. Heck, I wouldn't mind playing as Pac-Man again.
If the Pac-Man Kart racing game uses this engine, it may be a better game than expected.

They have all raced fine with the other vehicles on the tracks, so a solely themed pacman racer should be just fine.
