View Full Version : Favorite Mario Kart DS Driver
Punisher

I just got that sweet red DS bundle for Christmas, and so far I'm loving Mario Kart. I just had to ask who everybody liked, becasue I've tried every character(and I have unlocked them all) and there are only two that I actually like to race with. Most of the time, I go with Dry Bones, using the Banisher. Although his speed is terrible, and I get knocked around by everybody(you should see how far the heavy guys, like Bowser, can knock me) the awesome acceleration helps me get started quickly after getting hit by a spiny shell, which happens way too often.

Wario.
I use Wario all the time because his handling profile is exactly like a classic American pony car - Camaro, Trans Am, Charger, et cetera. Since I drive an F-body, he reacts a lot like how I'd expect to drive myself, and his slippery back end is very fun on courses like Frappe Snowland. At first he's uncontrollable, but you'll get the hang of it soon enough.
He's a good compromise between Bowser and Donkey Kong for heavy karts. Plus, I love heavy karts. Let the rice burners drive their Yoshis and Toads - I'll put em down with good ole American muscle.

Dry Bones in the neutral car (Standard) is the better of the two cars. That's what I use. The Banisher sucks, the accelleration/speed is terrible.

Toad in his classic cart. I refuse to use that goofy mushmellow vehicle.

Daisy or Peach
it's more of a challenge using them.
Toad in the Mushmellow.
I remember playing Mario Kart 64 and Yoshi was the best character in there so I thought it'd carry over... Eh, not so good with him...

Toad in the Mushmellow.
I remember playing Mario Kart 64 and Yoshi was the best character in there so I thought it'd carry over... Eh, not so good with him...I don't really see a noticeable difference with the characers, they seem to handle the same as their previous incarnations, it's just with the special karts do more differences arise.

Yoshi in the egg. I need handling and acceleration.
Plus I have three stars in every stage of Mission mode.

The one with mario or the one with Luigi? It would help if I had the mission number.
Anyway, I just got single stars in all the GPs. I could try to get 2x stars in all of them, since i have them in about half of them, but I don`t think I`ll ever be able to get 3x stars in GPs.

Same here, through the 4 Wheel Cradle isn't that bad, either. Toad's my go-to guy in all the Mario Kart games, but I've been playing a lot as Waluigi, and on a rare occasion Daisy.

Luigi in his standard kart or the ROB kart (which is ugly as sin but sure can get the job done sometimes).

Yoshi in the Cucumber... I don't mind the Egg, but I need the good items!

Just what is R.O.B?
R.O.B.: Robotic Operating Buddy. Initially packaged with the Nintendo Entertainment System, it had like three games, and was more of a way for Nintendo to market the NES in a different light after the disaster that was the Atari Crash of 1980's. Since then, he's been almost a nerdcore iconic character of NES, having shown up in F-Zero GX...

But...what did it do?

Allowed Nintendo to be placed in the toys section of a store, instead of the electronics where the Atari failed (or maybe it's the other way around; not totally sure on this).

Essentially, it was one of Nintendo's first forays into inventive gameplay, allowing the user to interact with a robot moving discs and stuff. You can easily tell why it never got much play, but went down as an icon.

I always choose Luigi :). He's pretty quick, and I've gotten used to skidding with him too.
