John Delaney's Sketch of the Week #1!

Welcome to the very first "Delaney's Sketch of the Week"! Out of the kindness of his art, John Delaney is doing something big for the fans - an exclusive weekly Toon Zone sketch! Every week, John Delaney will draw up a new picture based on the results of the poll above. That means that WE fans choose what the picture will be! The contest will begin every Monday, and end at 5pm the following Friday, giving fans a solid five days to choose. You can only vote ONCE! Delaney will then draw the sketch over the weekend and we'll present at the beginning of the following week. The characters must be DC characters, and if you have any requests for future polls, send <a href="mailto:harley@toonzone.net">Harley</a> an email with your ideas! Sound good? You can also post your thoughts on the poll in this thread.

Wow - Batgirl is ahead of the pack here! Even adding up the tallies on the JL Board it looks like Batgirl may win. When the next sketch poll comes around, I'll do one instead of two and just link it - but this will be interesting. I'm surprised to see Batgirl in the lead!

I voted for The Question - one of my all time favorite characters who I'd still love to see animated. Now on a more serious note:

Do to a problem with having two seperate polls open, the poll on the Justice League Boards has been closed, and all votes in "Delaney" poll have been added to the poll above. If you voted on the JL Boards, then don't vote here.

Any double votes will lead to warnings being issued out to those who have voted twice or more.

Just a note: if you're wondering why the results in the polls have dropped, it's becuase I had to delete all the double votes - and there were many. No warnings will be issued this time, but future occurences will warrant issues. I said in the post you can only vote ONCE and not to many people paid attention to that. I hope y'all do in the future. Thanks to all those who have voted so far! This is turning out to be a great poll and I'm eager to see the outcome.

AND another note, the winning character from each poll will not show up in future polls. That way we don't repeat the sketches.

i voted for the riddler. i heart that boy and i agree, voting for batman is just more of the same. this is an oppertunity for a talented artist to show us something different.

Just posting to tell everyone this thread closes at 5pm (ET) on Friday - which is tomorrow!! The votes are insanely close and it's neck and neck with Batgirl and JL Batman. With almost 100 votes at this time, the end of this should prove interesting...

I voted for BB. I think it would be nice to see him alive and kicking again.............. even for the few seconds it takes to look at the sketch. Then, sadly, BB will drop back into the realm of shows that were ended too soon. Actually, I voted yesterday, but my mom made get off the net before I could announce it. Anyways, after seeing the results, BB probably won't win, unless of course twenty people suddenly vote for him by tomorrow. That would be nice! :D

Howdy all,

I voted for Zatanna, because she's soooo cool in Neil Gaiman's The Books of Magic, and because she couldn't wear the fishnets in her episode of BTAS (too hard to animate). D'OH!

If Mr. Delaney or DG are taking requests for future JD sketch polls, can I put in requests for the Trenchcoat Brigade (from The Books of Magic), Black Canary (either in the fishnet costume or her new combat suit), and Dr. Fate (Coolest. Helmet. Ever.) ?

Oh, and one request for the original (non-Batman Beyond) Ace the Bathound. I need an avatar =8^).

Oh man, I think I may have been a few minutes too late but i really liked the idea someone had about showing Babara and Cassandra Cain duking it out. I thought that would be really cool!

Well....I'm a few hours late closing the poll but it is closed and the winner is...JL Batman! "JL Batman" beats "Batgirl" by just one vote! So - that will be the sketch uber-artist John Delaney wil be sketching up for Toon Zone! Stay tuned the next couple of days for the picture!! The next poll will open up Monday with new selections. JL Batman will no longer be a choice in the polls. As I said earlier - the winner of any given poll will no longer be eligable for future polls. Any comments on the results, and who'd yo ulike to see on the next poll, which should be up on Monday!

It's JL Batman becuase it will be a sketch of Batman in his Justice League design. In future polls, will likely include B:TAS Batman and TNBA Batman.

I saw this manga version of Spider-Man that Marvel is going to do for all their characters the fifth week of January. Can't get it out of my mind.
