View Full Version : WB Closing All Stores
Beyond Batman

A while back, when I heard the news of WB eventually closing down all its retail stores I was crushed. No more maquettes, no more production cels, lithos, etc.
A friend of mine, Tim, is a Gallery Studio Manager at several WB stores here in the Bay Area. Just recently he told me, it was rumored that they will still keep a few existing stores open. Have you guys heard anything about this?
Also, with WB's retail market potentially being shut down, do you think WB will continue to sell memorabilia? Afterall, they do have a large fan base. The way I've bought Batman items in the gallery, I've seen others spend mucho dinero on many of the Loony Tunes memorabilia.

The same rumours went round the UK but then WB explained that (over here, at least) they are indeed closing only those stores who haven't done as well saleswise. The London one's gone (which is a real shame 'cos that was huge!) but some of the stores across the country are staying open and doing really well. They had a sale in our local one (not a closing down one, thank god) and some of the Batman/Superman stuff was going for ridiculously low prices!! And they've got a cool lifesize model of the Keaton Batman - not for sale, though! I've asked a few times about the rumours and this store said they're staying ... with new movies coming out they'll have a fresh range of stuff to drive up their sales ...

hopefully they'll open up a better online store.

Well the reason WB is turning us all against them (in other words, destroying all WBstores) is because of sales (poor ones that is). So I'm sure they'll revamp and restock their wbstore.com.
Those of us who were forced to deal with the WB's treatment of Buffy and all three Batman animated shows know: They may treat us like crap, but they still want our money!! :D

If they are getting such poor sales, why don't they do some research into why that might be? I think releasing Teletubbies on DVD and not the Batman and Superman animted series on DVD is one key that they are not in tune with their customers. All they have to do is post a survey on their website and ask us what we would buy, and I sure would tell them what would get me into their stores!

I'm sorta sad they are closing, but I've only bought a total of 1 thing from them..lol. I do wish I could get a Batman Beyond statue though...my bro said the last day, they were only taking 30% off!!! Jerks..

Well, I haven't been to my local store for a couple months, but my roommate's grandmother has, and the workers said they had no idea what she was talking about when she asked when they were closing. So mine's still around. Yay!
However, they haven't made any new Batman clothing in at least a year...

I am sad to say that I have heard this news also. But sales went so bad because their stupid prices were always high and they never had anything in stock.
