Here is what Cartoon Network should do if they want to stop showing the same Cartoon Cartoons over and over again. Take any not-so-well-known anime, dub it with voice overs so that it is very loosely translated, then they say jokes to certain instances and totally change the original plot! It would be like a drama in Japan that was turned into a heavy satire in America so one show could serve as two shows!
It would be like the cartoon Mystery Science Theater 3000 everyone wants but without being a rip off.

Nah, then they'd have to pay a Japanese company the rights to air the animation. The only reason they redub things like Space Ghost and Sealab is because they already own the rights.

And there's a possibility that many wouldn't tune in and that people wouldn't like it, as naraht said. SGC2C and Sealab 2021 work nice enough already.

I don't get why people wouldn't like it. If it was an anime no one even knew about, it could work. It could just be some sort of Speed Racer with an even looser translation. Like an anime that never got dubbed or subbed in English so no one knows what the actual story is about so no one cares what CN did with it.
As long as you aren't a hardcore otaku then you would crack up if it had lines like those off of ATHF and SGC2C. Williams Street would have to pay even less money for the animation.

Kinda like what Saban did with "Digimon" for the first two seasons. I'm probably one of the few people to enjoy this version of the anime (I haven't seen the original Japanese version).
