Okay, recently watching "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", I was wondering which Dr. Seuss special is your favorite.

Mine's either "Stole Christmas" or "The Lorax".

How the Grinch stole Christmas followed by The Lorax, Grinch Night, and The Butter Battle.

Horton Hears a Who and The Lorax. I'd add The Butter Battle Book, but I've never seen the animated version (that I can recall) but I've seen a few clips... and read the book, of course.
Didn't CN used to have this DR Seuss day where they showed all of his animated stories and stuff? And on the same day I think Toonheads aired the Snafu cartoon "Spies", which was written by Seuss. (I've got to get myself a DVD of that toon one day. That was brilliant)

How The Grinch Stole Christmas - the original '60s version. Not the 2000 Jim Carey flick.

The Cat in the Hat. The Grinch is a very close second, but I have a soft spot for the cat.

To this day, my favorite Dr. Seuss animated film is still How the Grince Stole Christmas.

Gotta go with the Grinch. It's one of the few Christmas specials I can stand.
The 2000 version, though, is blasphemy.

The original Grinch. A masterpiece of animation and storytelling that I still have memorized. :D

Horton Hatches the Egg is also excellent, but Grinch will always be my favorite.

My all-time favorite Dr. Seuss specials are How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Daisy Head Mayze. (I didn't choose some of the others because these are the only ones I remember seeing in the past five years.)

Didn't CN used to have this DR Seuss day where they showed all of his animated stories and stuff?Yeah, they aired all the Dr. Seuss specials on CN. Yet for some reason, I don't remember watching "Halloween is Grinch Night" on CN (just on a really old video).

Apparently, either I missed the airing or the special was too scary for kids and CN decided not to air it (not surprised. the monster scene was really freaky. I wonder what Dr. Seuss named them...).

My two favorites have been "The Cat in the Hat" and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." The two always bring back memories.

As a child, I had those two books, "Fox in Sox" (something like it), and "Green Eggs and Ham" (I even saw the cartoon version of this, as well as two others, including "The Sneetches" and I can't remember that other one -- they aired on The Disney Channel years ago).

..."Green Eggs and Ham" (I even saw the cartoon version of this, as well as two others, including "The Sneetches" and I can't remember that other one -- they aired on The Disney Channel years ago). The other animated Suess you saw was "The Zax", which was a short story that originally appeared in the middle of the "Sneetches" book. That, "Green Eggs" and "The Sneetches" was animated in "Dr. Seuss on the Loose".

After visiting your page, I can say that I also saw "Pontoffel Pock, Where Are You?" That was one of the specials that I barely remember watching.

I can't wait to watch The Grinch tonight on The WB!

My personal favorites are the How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and the Lorax. I am surprised however that no one has mentioned The Grinch Grinches the Cat in The Hat or The HooberBloob Highway.

I've heard of "The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat", but I cannot remember seeing or reading it. After visiting the "DePatie-Freleng Website," I had no idea that there was a Halloween special of the Grinch.

I've heard of "The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat", but I cannot remember seeing or reading it.Let me clear this up: "The Grinch Grinches The Cat in the Hat", along with "Halloween is Grinch Night", "Pontoffel Pock, Where Are You?", and "The Hoober Bloob Highway" was written exclusively for animation by Dr. Seuss. That's why there are no books about them.

P.S., thanks for checking out my website.:)

Good thing I chose not to start another thread right away.

Last year I got my stepmother a copy of the Suess Celebration DVD. I got myself a copy of the DVD with money I got as a present. The Disc includes:
The Cat In The Hat
The Lorax
Pontofell Pock And His Magic Piano
Green Eggs And Ham
Sneetches
Zax
Grinch Night
The Grinch Grinches The Cat In The Hat
The Hoober-Bloob highway

Any possibilites they'll release a set with all of the Suess Cartoons?

Also, would the Dr. Suess cartoons in general be consider an official family cartoons as they're more entertaining than the ussual pre-school fluff.

The Cat in the Hat
The Hoober-bloob Highway
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
The Lorax
Horton Hears a Who
The Zax
Green Eggs & Ham
The Sneetches

I only remember seeing "Halloween is a Grinch Night" only once when I was little, but I forgot what it was about.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas is of course the quintessential Dr. Suess special, but out of sheer personal preference, I'd have to go with the first four Depatie-Freleng specials: the Cat in the Hat, The Lorax, Dr Seuss on the Loose and The Hoober Bloob Highway. I have never, ever seen these on television in my lifetime (Though i saw The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat on Cartoon Netowrk once), but my childhood is full of happy memories of watching these on VHS.

I got the Seuss Celebration DVD, and saw Pontofell Pock and Grinch Night for the first time: I hate to say it, but the last three DFE Seuss specials, IMHO, lave much to be desired in comparison to the first four.

I just recently watched Halloween is Grinch Night on DVD. That certainly was creepy. It's amazing the creature the Whos feared ended up joining them for Christmas Dinner later on.

And that same DVD had the special Dr. Seuss on the Loose. Where The Cat in the Hat introduced 3 classic stories of my youth. The Sneetches, The Zax, and Green Eggs and Ham.

The Lorax was pretty neat too. In both the book and TV special forms.

But I think I really like the Pontoffel Pock story and his magic piano a lot. I don't think that was ever made into a book.
