So how many game description screwups and game exec burnings did we get this year?
I'm absolutely amazed that Spike would continue doing these awards after the colossal joke of the previous two.

I'm only about five minutes into the show. Already somebody should be beheaded for calling Kratos the god of war, and for mentioning Jeff Jarrett in the opener while AJ Styles gets nothing.
I would play Sam Jackson's PGA Tour of Duty though. Somebody put that one together. :D
The opening was mildly amusing with the katamari bouncing around in the crowd. It was good to see Resident Evil 4 win game of the year and We Love Katamari win for best original score.
But besides that it sucked, as usual.

Out of curiousity, was it RE4 for the GC or the PS2 or did they not specify?

I'm surprised a game like RE4 won since they gave Metal Gear Solid total disrespect last year. Speaking of disrespect, no awards for Liberty City Stories? 100 Hours of console-quality gameplay doesen't deserve an award?
The only funny part was the jabs at Ah-nold. But they stole their technique from The Daily Show.
This crap is still a farce.
And how can King Kong win so many awards when the game has only been out for a week or two? =|

Yep the same old horrible nonsense and celebrity BS. At least RE4 won (it deserved it.) The King Kong awards won were riddiculous as the game wasn't out at the time of the awards show. Also I do still like Red Hot Chilli Peppers, but wow that arcade joke was sooooooo lame. The only joke that was funny was the Arnold Schwarzenegger one and I give credit to the Ubi-Soft developer of King Kong for trying to be funny (when he lifted that one woman up she, she didn't look like she knew what was going on.)
Other Unintentionally Funny Moments:
Tony Hawk and others OBVIOUSLY reading off a teleproctor...
That woman who made that series of jokes starting with "The Sisterhood of Traveling Pants" game where only around three people laughed. That was awesome. :)
Finally, seeing Jack Black on the toilet made me laugh but only because it was just a representation of what the Spike TV VGA's really is. ;)

They didn't mention Shadow of Colossus(which should have won over Kong)
I demand their blood be spilled into a giant kettle so that I can make a delicious soup from their mistake

This crap is still a farce.
And how can King Kong win so many awards when the game has only been out for a week or two? =| Not to mention having a string of reviews that around 7.0 to 8.0 instead of games like RE4 which had a review score range between 9 to 10.
A bunch of subpar games nominated again and again? What's up with that?
Oh, silly me. I forgot this is SpikeTV. D:

I only caught a small glimpse of it, then changed the channel so I wouldn't suffer any brain damage.
Once again they impressed me with the choices for each topic....yeah right.;) Sure it's completly fair for the regular gaming audience to vote on over half of the nominees which came out less than a week before the deadline. Not to mention the show wasn't live like other award shows. And a professional VA is still nothing compared to...Charlize Theron?
Although the obession for niche games Katamari between Spike's VGA and G4's VGA is getting rather ridiculous. I'm not putting down the game. It's just weird to see this being pimped on one channel that is far too obsessed with games that are only rated 10 out of 10 (which half of them don't) and a channel that praises everyone in the entertainment industry besides the real people behind the games themselves. And they're doing it in fashions that even make the Japanese audience scratch their heads. :anime:
Both this and the G4's awards have yet to impress me or inspire me as a gamer or even make me feel that the gaming community used their voice for the final desision. G4's feels like an underbudgeted public access channel ceremony that tried to be extreme with the lamest line up they could find. "Well Ron Jeremy was in Celeberity Deathmatch so we should invite him over! Marieh Delfino is the most popular icon in Hollywood and I heard she played the first Resident Evil!" Then from breaking bottles over peoples heads to the lamest preformances for each winner really made me feel sorry for Ralph Baer when he went on stage and I was the only person out of the hosts and the auidence who knew what he was talking about.
Then we've got the over budgeted network that can get those celeberties people love, but give them horrible lines and jokes to read and make gamers even feel more vile about those who are not gamers themselves. Remember last year when Snoop Dog would talk to himself and none of the dialogue would come off remotley clever? There is nothing wrong with making up a preformance with fictional characters. Yet the American auidence can't match up to the Japanese auidence's creativity and accuracy. Naughty Dog hasn't done a live action Crash commercial in a while and even those had more life in them than people break dancing and pretending to street fight or becoming Bloodrayne.
You wanna see a real award show or learn the real facts about gamers, check out the GDC. :)
Not to mention having a string of reviews that around 7.0 to 8.0 instead of games like RE4 which had a review score range between 9 to 10.Exactly. Maybe this is just my conspiracy theorist side speaking, but I'm guessing they made Kong win all those awards simply because the movie is out next week. Blatant tie-in marketing, anyone?
And where in the hell was Soul Calibur 3?! Oh I forgot: to Spike, the only thing that was released on the PS2 this year was God of War and that stupid 50 Cent game.
At least they acknowledged 'We Love Katamari'. It goes to show that SOMEONE there has some amount of taste and culture.
If Spike TV doesn't give at least one nod to Kingdom Hearts 2 and LoZ: Twilight Princess next year, I'm going to give up on the network all together. (And that includes watching Three Stooges)
Oh, and did anyone notice how many awards World of Warcraft won? Sheesh, YTMND wasn't kidding: WoW IS serious business.
