This is the fourteenth episode of Drawn Together, and apparently features the "British nanny" character that is the star of certain reality TV shows.

Talk about it here, if you'd like.

Well, this is the final episode of the first batch of season two. And we think it's one of our best. Super Nanny comes to the house and Ling-Ling learns to drive. A good time is had by all.

Hope you like it.

And keep an eye out for more new episodes in January. Starting with the banned episode, "Terms of Endearment".

I really need to pick up the Uncensored DVD set to fill the time until the new eps start, but finances have been tight as of late with the holidays and all. DT has surpassed South Park, and I hope it's here to stay for a long time.

Speaking of which, are we going to ever see a jab at a certain show mentioned in the first paragraph?

hahahahaha hilarious episode, the ling ling parts stole the episode most definately, glad he got such an amazing episode, very funny, the captain hero part was also fun, too bad ling ling was just way funnier, great job. the only bad thing is my throat was sore so it kind of sucked laughing so much ;D

It's nice to see Ling-Ling get an extended plot of his own, and a damned humorous one at that. Subtitled Godzilla had me on the floor due to the sheer absurdity of saying anything with just the trademark Godzilla scream :D

Hero's plot was okay, but Ling-Ling stole the show.

That was one hilarious ep. "Don't leave me again!!!" was probably the funniest line for me.

To Merrick: Was this the episode that had the FG voice cameo (hinted in the last week talkback) or was it another episode? I listened and couldn't really hear any.

Also, is there any particualar reason that you use Cree Summer for nearly every auxillary female role? I mean she's pratically played another one-shot character besidese Foxxy in every ep this season. Some make sense (Foxxy's band, quick shot of Foxxy's mom in the last ep) but others (like the Super Nanny here and the Strawberry Shortcake ripoff from the season opener) don't really need to be here. Are you unable to afford to get a guest VA or more regular female voice actors for the show? Or do you feel you are just fine reusing the same VAs over and over like Simpsons or South Park.

But this was a pretty good episode. My personal favorite joke: Ling Ling's eye test where he thought all the r's were l's. (A common japanese misunderstanding which leads to many name mistranslations in dubbed animes). I also think this is the most Toot's been involved with the main plot ever since the Season opener as well.

No, this isn't the episode with the Family Guy guest voice.

We use Cree because we think she's really funny. In fact, another actor voiced Strawberry Sweetcakes and we were unhappy with how she sounded and had Cree redo it. But aside from Strawberry Sweetcakes and Super Nanny I don't think Cree has done that many main one-shot characters. Tara Strong has done at least as many. She was Hero's mother and Unusually Flexible Girl and one or two others. We've also had Paget Brewster as a representitive from Child Services and Alex Borstein as the leader of the Jelly Donut Babes at Toot's fat camp reunion. I don't know that you can say that those characters didn't "need to be her." Obviously, we felt they did need to be her.

Also, I don't know that I'd classify Strawberry Sweetcakes as a Strawberry Shortcake "ripoff." I like to believe that she was a Strawberry Shortcake parody.

Fair enough I guess. I thought Cree did good as the Strawberry Sweetcakes but do think you could of used someone else as Supernanny. (Tara Strong, who yeah I admitt does have about as moany one shot roles, could of done a good job since she's voiced nanny's before. Like one episode of Family Guy I believe. And thanks for telling us when the FG voiceover is going to be... synopsis wise anyway). Then again I guess the point of the character was like the regualr reality show Super Nanny to be grating and annoying and make you wonder how she got into so many houe and did that stuff to children.

Also, I don't know that I'd classify Strawberry Sweetcakes as a Strawberry Shortcake "ripoff." I like to believe that she was a Strawberry Shortcake parody. Oh sorry. To be fair, I kind of forgot her name on the show and just decided to call her "ripoff" to make sure you knew who I was talking about. But yeah she is more of a parody. Sorry about the mix up once again.

BTW, you ever going to have any parodies of modern day internet toons for Spanky Ham (since internet toons now aren't all about fart jokes and such). Like say a refrence to Homestarr Runner or Bonus Stage? You know since you do mentions of other characters companions (like Batman, Spiderman etc with Captain hero and Ling Ling with Godzilla and such).

It's true, Alex Borstein is the voice of the Jelly Donut Babe, but that wouldn't count as a Family Guy Cameo. Keep an ear out for another voice she does in a different episode.

Well, this is the final episode of the first batch of season two.Really? Never thought I'd say this, but I'm suffering from Toot withdrawal.

But this was a pretty good episode. My personal favorite joke: Ling Ling's eye test where he thought all the r's were l's. (A common japanese misunderstanding which leads to many name mistranslations in dubbed animes). That was great, as was Ling Ling's speech at the end when he said "L" instead of the word "are".

Funny episode. Ling Ling immediately crashing everything, NAAYP, and Captain Hero attacking everything "super" (including soup or salad) were my favorites. As wrong as Asian vision was, that made me laugh too. It was pretty weird hearing Ling Ling speak English.

Well, then toon in to the second batch of season two episodes starting in January. In one episode we'll join Toot at her fat camp reunion and in another we'll find out if motherhood is right for her.

I'm probably going to get blasted for this, but I was a little offended by this ep. I'm usually not bothered by gags that make fun of culture, language, religious beliefs, or sexuality. OTOH, Jokes based on racial physical characteristics sorta make my skin crawl. It tends to reinforce that certain race based physical traits are freakish or at least undesirable.

That said, I do realize the moral of Ling-Ling's story is that he shouldn't try to be something he's not yadayadayada.

On to the good stuff:
1) Clara seeing things through Asian eyes. (yeah, I know I'm a hypocrite)
2) Everything crashing around Ling-Ling the moment he started up the car.
3) Big @ss Godzilla clocking Ling-Ling with a normal size paper cup.

The not so good stuff:
Too much Capt. Hero. Can we get rid of him or at least get him to stick with one personality? I mean is he a horny frat boy, a closet-case, a wimp or a misunderstood man-child?

Also, is it wrong that I'm attracted to the real life Super Nanny?

Anyone got "asian view of the DT cast" screencaps?

Great ep Bill, I do have another question for you though. What's up with using "Ode de Joy" music in every episode. Mind you it's funny, I was just curious how it was picked.

Also, will the producer make another appearance this season in another body and not just his speakbox?

Mind you it's funny, I was just curious how it was picked.I don't remember how we came to pick that particular piece of music to put behind big speeches. But since we find repeating that sort of thing over and over from episode to episode funny we just kept using it.

Also, will the producer make another appearance this season in another body and not just his speakbox? The Jew Producer will be back in the second batch. He's the host of the Drawn Together Reunion Special and he will announce the winner of Drawn Together.
