View Full Version : Is it just me or is there something wrong with these boards?

The boards used to fit in my screen. Now I have to go back and forth with arrows down at the bottom of the screen to see everyting. What is going on??? Please tell me this is only temporary. This is so annoying!

It looks like the webmasters tweaked the boards a bit, and I personally like it.

The word that was escaping me is SCROLL. I have to scroll horizontally to see everything now. It wasn't like this when I got on this morning!

That's becuase they're doing it right now. Goive it sometime. Maybe this isn't the last of it. I have to scroll sideways and it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Are you still having to scroll? If so, what screens do you have this problem on? We upgraded to the newest version of the board software, and we want to make sure we get all the bugs out.

I never had to scroll. maybe it's the screen resolution. Made things too big or somthin'..

I'm having the same problem, although I chalked it up to a combination of a temporary bug from the software update, and the fact that I've been on my mother's crap IBM manufactured in 1996 instead of my nice lovely year old lap top.

It's probably me. It's always me. :( lol j/k

I have a MultiSync NEC monitor which is just as old as my computer as a whole, so whenever bad things happen (and I'm at home), I blame myself. :o

Well, the toonzone boards were working fine; I didn't have to scroll horizontally there, but then Brian went and changed the settings of the WF boards to the same thing the toonzone boards were set at, and now EVERY board on this site forces me to scroll horizontally.

My computer is about three years old, but I don't understand why that would have anything to do with it, especially when the toonzone boards worked fine before.

With some programs and software, things might look different from computer to computer if the screen's resolution is old or just drastically out of wack. Usually what's effected is size, and that's what came to mind when I heard people had to scroll horizontally. Just a stab in the dark. :D

Well, just as long as it can be fixed some how, I don't care. Toonzone's boards worked fine after the updates, I didn't have to scroll, but now I do after Brian tried to fix the problem. I have faith that he will get the bugs out! Til then, I changed the res on my computer, so everything is so much smaller now. I still have to scroll horizontally, but not as much.

I do have to say this after the upgrade, tho...I can see the backgrounds a whole lot better! I could never make out what they were before!

I know!! Same thing happened with me! Months ago when the new cool ones were just put up, I was at home at the time and I was like, "Oh...*squint!*...Oh! That's cool." Then I went off to school and saw it all on my lap top. What a site, lemme tell ya! :)

I stil ldon;t understand why you have to scroll. The update went through and I don't have to scroll at all. Odd...

I think it is a conspiracy against older computers! New software never favors computers over a couple years old. Bill Gates makes it that way, I swear. I am not trying to be a conspiracist here or anything, but it is a fact that new software caters to the latest versions of computers on the market at that time. I can always tell when it is time for me to get a new computer, because I have problems with websites on the Internet. But who has money for a new computer when there are all these great DVDs to buy?

I am not too worried about it. If the toonzone boards worked fine for me after the upgrade, then I believe Brian can fix it where all the boards work for everybody. Til then, I will just have to muddle thru.

It's possible that it could just be your computer. And maybe it depends on what kind of compute rit is. The computer I use I've had since 1997, and it works fine. We upgraded once, and that was about a year ago and haven't since. Still, I like the new options we've been getting now.

Well, I don't see why if the toonzone boards were working fine on my computer and I didn't have to scroll on them, why they couldn't fix it where all the boards were like that. They tried to fix it, but now I have to scroll on the toonzone boards too.

It is most frustrating. And why wouldn't you mind scrolling, DG? Horizontally, that is? Especially when you're used to seeing everything on one screen all at once?

I just don't mind small things like that. On my Mac which I frequently use, I have to side scroll, and I don't mind it at all. On the PC, I don't have to sidescroll, bt it makes no big difference. It's just like vertically scrolling - no bother at all.

Just makes surfing the boards much easier, especially when you can see the name of the tread and the most recent reply to it in the same screen. Going back and forth to see both isn't easy to get used to.

Gee, wonderful. I am sure Brian Cruz is really up late worrying about this when only 1 person out of 300 has a problem with it. This is just so lame.

Maybe you can fiddle with your screen options?

Thanks for reminding me, DG. I want to contact AOL and see if they can help me out. I am sure it is not my computer exclusively, that it has to be something with settings on AOL or Internet Explorer.

Any other AOL users out there having problems?? I can't imagine I am the only one out of 300 members!

Well, calhoun07 - you ain't alone. I dusted off AOL and tried it out. Guess what? The same happens for me on AOL, but not on IE or Netscape. So, you are no longer alone on this problem, but I don't use AOL that much - only for the occasional AIM or email.

I will have to contact AOL and see if they can help me out. Losers! I will have to get a new Internet service if they can't help me! This is the site I visit the most on the net!

These boards work fine on IE and Netscape. Although, my AOL browser is also IE, which doesn't show it properly. What the -- ?

This is a mystery for Brian Cruz!

I thought you didn't mind scrolling, DG!

James Harvey
06-10-2001, 10:24 PM
I don't mind side-scrolling at all. It's just that AOL is the only browser, or whatever, that I have to side scroll in. I just thought I'd tell ya. That's all.

It's not a big deal, especially when the sidescrolling is only minimal for me, anyways.

I think maybe I'll update my AOL. That could be a possible problem. Or maybe the browser isn't 100% compatible with all AOL browsers. Does good ol' Brian Cruz have anything to say on AOL's compatibility with TZ? Brian?

I haven't heard from Brian for days about this. DAYS! I am crestfallen!

I see you're beefing that number up quite a bit, DG! Pushing to that 1000 mark every day!
