Sorry; I'm a big fan of Catwoman, so I gotta say her :D Maybe I'll write up a big essay with footnotes later on why I think this is so. As soon as I get out of my PJs. *pause* Ah heck, it's Christmas vacation, I never get out of my PJs.

I too must agree that Selina wins hands-down!
Sure Talia is gorgeous and exotic, but the fact that her father wants to kill everyone on the planet may just cause a few problems when it comes time to arrange Christmas dinner! That, and for some reason, I've always viewed Talia as a sort of a child. She's never really been more than a plaything of Ra's or Bruce's in all of her animated appearances. She's wishy-washy between who's side she wants to take, and I honestly don't think Bruce could put up with her for very long. She may make a great fling, but a lousy wife!
Selina is much more of a real person to me. There's no denying that she has many issues to work through (the stealing thing, the need for her costume), but in truth, she's most like Bruce, and as much as opposites attract, Bruce could only work with someone who closely understands his mind and his nature. I've never doubted that they belong together, and like the Phantom Stranger issue of Gotham Adventures, I too picture them eventually confronting each other's differences, declairing them void and tying the knot...which is part of why I really despised the "Lonely, jaded and decrepid Bruce Wayne" that was highlighted in BB. He's gonna end up with Selina :p

My vote's for Catwoman. Talia was always a good character, but Selina Kyle was always the match for Bruce. Talia did often seem to be a little wishy washy as she debated between her father and Bruce.

Plus, Catwoman would allow Batman to continue his activities. As we saw in "Out of the Past", Talia didn't want him doing the Batman thing...

--I mean, Selina's a dame who likes things on her own terms. Marriage and children would clip her claws. She wants freedom; Bruce needs stability. I can see them get together every now and then to knock off a little carnal tension, but no way that kitty's going to wear a collar and leash, or a wedding band....

In the animated world I'd say Andrea Beaumont would be the best choice, well except for her whole murder and revenge thing.
I mean Bruce was so close to giving up everything before he really started for Andrea. Course it all fell apart. *sigh* What could have been.

Talia. She loves both Bruce and Bats and he's so much more himself around her because of that. She's tough and can take care of herself as well. I also like how she's cool headed and calm, yet she has authority. If Talia ended up with Bruce at the end I'm sure she would have broken off ties with her father to make such a decision. Talia seems more trustworthy than Catwoman too. :)
As we saw in "Out of the Past", Talia didn't want him doing the Batman thing...
Technically that wasn't Talia speaking. :p

I'd have to go with the majority, Selina Kyle all the way. Her character is so fantastic, and she and Bruce have already had relationships of sorts in the past. Talia could work, if it wasn't for her father perhaps. Andrea would have worked in the toon world...if she hadn't gone all revengful and stuff, maybe. Then again, the chances of Bruce ever settling down seem pretty slim. He's gotta find a way to be Batman, Bruce and have a love life, he has enough problems just doing the first two. And the girl has to love Batman mostly, since the Bruce Wayne side of him is the fake front for Batman.

First off, Animated or Comics, there's only one answer. And that's Talia. She was made for Bruce.
The main thing that Makes Talia a Better Wife than Cat, is LOYALTY! Talia, no matter how foolish, has proven loyal to BOTH sides of the spectrum. Her Father AND Batman. If she one day Fully Sides with Bruce, then you'll see true loyalty.
Catwoman? All she is, is a plaything, that Bruce will never get to fully realize. He's tried, but SHE's too committed, to being indepented, to committed to the life of Crime, even when she say's she will never steal again. Catwoman, almost belongs in Arkham, but she's not a killer, But she has serious mental issues. She never stay's on track. The attraction between them is very strong, but as a wife or even a Steady girlfriend, there is nothing consistant about her. You can't rely on her, and for that Bruce wont stand.
Talia is affiliated to one of the worst criminals on earth, Only because he's her father, If not, she'd still be Bruce's perfect partner. I think in the comic world, we'll soon see Ras, neglect her if not, kill her. He's caught her helping the Bat again, but, even after she vowed not to. Ras stood behind the scenes and watched. I think she's going to be in trouble. And ofcourse Bruce will come to her Rescue.
And do you guys get it? When has Selina made a comitment to one guy? Her whole idea of fun, is not being bound by anyone. Talia Respects that Bruce is, Bruce AND Batman. I saw ad issue where Bruce let himself get beat up by some common street thugs, just so he could feel some pain. And when Talia saw him, she nearly kicked Bruce in the pants, ashamed by his actions, as he is the best fighter on earth. She said he disgraced himself.
Bruce Needs that kind of encouragement on his side, after a long day's work. :p
And another thing, Talia has experience of living day in and out with an obsessed man, living, with Bruce wont be different at all, only on the Side of good this time.
Oh yeah, in "Out of the Past" that was'nt Talia, ..it was a MAN! :D

I'd say Talia. Selina just wants to spend the night with Batman, and she doesn't know about the whole Bruce Wayne thing (who, as Selina Kyle, she did date, but times have changed). Besides, she's got that whole life of crime thing that would be hard for her to completely ditch. And if they ever had kids, I think Selina would be outta there in no time.
Talia's way more commited, and is totally in love with both Bruce Wayne and Batman.

True, she seems disloyal, untrustworthy and far too fiercely independant to ever become a loving housewife. But that's part of her charm!
Bruce probably couldn't hang up his cape and cowl, someday, and rock a baby to sleep. That would mean totally becoming Bruce Wayne and abandonning Batman; a way of life he's never led. Similarily, Selina could never operate under a "leash" so to speak, but I honestly pity anyone who thinks of marriage that way! Since they are so alike, I think that they would understand that they both need to keep their alter-egos until (or if) they (ever) find a way to be themselves without a need for vengence or running through the night. So, someday I see both Catwoman and Batman on the same side, keeping in each other focused, until they realize, by getting to know one another, that they really just want to be Selina and Bruce, there true selves, before they die lonely deaths. Of course, getting Ms. Kyle passed her rather shameful past would require an aweful lot of lawyers and maybe even some jail time, not to mention the bad rep it would give Bruce, but I honestly couldn't picture anyone else they would both go through all that for.
Although Selina never really dug Bruce in the animated series, I do forsee a day (If Gotham Adventures ever starts writing interesting stories!) that he will be there for her when she needs him most, and she will fall in love with him, just as much as he has with her.
Sure, they could never be the typical couple. They'd be on the cover of Star and the Enquirer for months! But, they'd find happiness in one another! That's all that matters! ;)

AAAAAHH!!!! YES, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS, I CANT BELIEVE I DIDNT THINK OF IT FIRST!!!!!!!!!
SELINA!!!!!!! ANIMATED OR COMICS!!!!!!
they are a perfect match!!!!
and to all you people who think Selina doesnt love Bruce, just Batman, she's just shy about it, b/c she likes em on the wild side. As soon as he told her he and Batman were the same person, she would be extatic to know she could free her feelings of guily for actually being attracted to a goodie-two-shoes.
SELINA ALL THE WAY!!!!!!! THEY ARE BOTH BEAUTIFUL CREATURES OF THE NIGHT, AND DESERVE TO BE TOGETHER!!!!!
If this wasnt a PG board, I would talk about Talia, but unfortuanetly i cant talk about her with out getting caried away and eventually cussing her out, that stupid caniving lying lil witch!!!!

Hmm. While neither one of them are particularly trustworthy, having to choose between the two, I'd say Selina. Talia would stab Bruce in the back if her dad said so, and I don't think that Bruce and Talia tying the knot would make Ra's reconsider the whole evil-guy-trying-to-destroy-humanity thing. And when the two confronted each other again, Talia would betray Bruce in the most painful ways possible. Catwoman is a compulsive crook, but it's possible that Bruce could help cure her of that.
Also, while we're technically talking about different characters, remember that in Pre-Crisis, Catwoman and Batman got married on a parallel Earth and were the parents of Huntress! So, at least somewhere, they were able to work things out.

Perhaps Selina didn't know Batman's secret identity in the show, but she certainly did in the comics.

I think that Talia is awesome for Bruce while Catwoman is the perfect match for the bat (if that makes any sense). But that's in the comics. In the animated, Selina all the way.

"Perhaps Selina didn't know Batman's secret identity in the show, but she certainly did in the comics."
She does Nightflower?
Well she does'nt seem to know now, perhaps that was a one time issue.
I dont know, I think Bruce can trust Talia. Catwoman's Always double crossing him. Talia Lets Batman escape, when her fathers plans are about to come to fruition. Now if that is'nt reliability, I dont know what is. Consistantly Talia proves that she loves Bruce more than her father, or his plans. That's a HUGE sacrifice on her part.
Catwoman would turn on Bruce for a handfull of Rare diamonds. Sad.

The idea of Bruce being with Barb sickens me and is way off character for both of them. It just flat-out makes no sense at all.
And since when does Selina know Batman's secret ID? I'm a big comic book fan, and I've never seen it outside of Elseworlds.

I like either one really. They've both got a lot of good points and a lot of bad ones. But if I was forced to choose, I'd say Talia. If you've ever read any of the "Demon" books (Son of the Demon, etc) in the mainstream titles, you'd see how interesting their relationship can be - heck, they even had a kid in one of them! Those books always made me feel there was much more depth and intrigue in a Talia/Batman relationship than in the Catwoman/Batman relationship.

Hmm.....you're both probably right, I'm not an avid follower of the comics, but I did read on some website that she did know his identity. My apologies.

I'm a fan of making all of Batman's loves unrequited to a point. He can still have his moments with Talia, Selina, and others, but nothing should last.

The man deserves some happiness after the life he's lead!
But I guess you're right parker. Since none of us can agree on who he should be with, it may be better for us all that this question go formally unanswered....

I'd have to go with Selina. I just watched Batman Returns again and Bruce says to Selina "You see, we're the same." (or something for close to that; granted then she snubs him, but that's not the point).
They both has alter egos and hide part of their lives behind a mask, this is something Talia can't relate too. If they ever got together I think Selina would understand him being Batman and Bruce Wayne because she is both Catwoman and Selina Kyle.
(That and her father isn't evil incarnate.)

Penguin, I think you may have misunderstood Catwoman's actions at the end of Batman Returns. She wasn't really "snubbing him", as much as admitting that her conscience could never bear the burden of all the crimes and heinous acts she committed. It took me until this year to realize what her lines meant:
"Oh, Bruce...I'd love to live with you in your castle..just like in the fairy tales......Only I just couldn't live with myself! (Slashes him) So don't pretend this is a happy ending !"
For the longest time I thought she said this because she could never be happy not being Catwoman and instead living a "normal life" under ball and chain, even if it was with Bruce. Then I realized, a few months ago, that she meant that she, quite literally, could never live with herself ! Deep down, Selina knows that she's just acting out and that she really is a good person. Remember when Peguin killed the Ice Princess (what a retarded character!), Catwoman was rather surprised and said "I thought you said you were going to scare her!" She really wanted to be with Bruce, but her fractured and stressed psyche couldn't forsee a decent life for her, or even a tommorow, so she took the revenge road and killed off Max...
The Penguin

Yeah, you're right DB. :o I remembered her quote there, but I wasn't sure if she whipped Bruce or just went after Max so I ended up with "snubbed" which I didn't really like but I didn't wanna speed my tape to that part of the movie again.
Oh to have a special edition DVD with scene selection. :(
Yeah, that was a little off topic.
