Super Mario Strikers is a new soccer game that's unlike anything ever to hit the pitch! You'll combine classic Mario gameplay with real soccer fun -- whether you freeze an opponent with an ice-cold shell, kicking over a spiny shell or scaring off an entire team with the roving Chain Chomp, you're sure to see something new around every corner kick.
I was going to get this game for Christmas, but I decided to go with Mario Kart DS instead (I believe Mario Kart DS was the better choice). Anyways, discuss this new Mario sports game here. The game looked pretty decent and I think I would've loved it.

i don't know about this mario themed sports game. i read the review on ign and it states that although the gameplay in multiplayer mode can be fun and a little addictive, there are barely any unlockables and they are all easy to get. i'll give it a rent, though. sure my buds and i will have fun with it anyway

Definately not my kinda game. Over here, it's called Mario Smash Football. I'll say this though, you gotta love that sketchy box-art.

That's some interesting box art. Definitely not what I would have expected.
I've enjoyed some of the Mario sports titles, but I really have no desire to play this one. Maybe I'm just not enough of a soccer fan....

That's the best cover art I've seen in a long time. It would've been even better if that art style had carried over to the game.

The box art makes it seem like Shaolin Soccer

I plan to get this game sometime soon since soccer is my fave sport (and the only sport I seem to be halfway decent at). Right now, I'm trying to find an official artwork of soccer Luigi from that game. Tis hard to find.

My jaw dropped when I first saw Daisy's artwork.
The art is fantastic. The game itself doesn't really catch my intrest.

Yep, the art is cool, but the game doesn't catch my eye. I can stand Mario and friends playing golf, tennis, and riding carts, but seeing them play baseball and soccer do not really strike a chord for me. This is especially prevalent when all those games just revealed themselves at E3 and just like REEK of something terrible in any way...
Forget Nintendo Pennant Chase Ball and Mario 128. Wouldn't you like to see instead Mario Soccer or Mario Baseball!?!?!!?!?!?!?! Do ya!?!?!?! Do ya!?!?!?!

Some of my coworkers had this game going during lunch today. The multiplayer mode is reeeeeally fun, but I can't see myself dropping $50 on it.
