So, Who IS your hero ?!
Aside from Spider-Man(C'mon..he is the greatest?), I'd have to say its either Ash from the Evil Dead movies, or...Gaz, from Invader ZIM. Gaz is so cool! ;)

She-Ra! The first true female superhero who was actually super in my eyes that hit TV. Wonder Woman didn't cut it with Superfriends, still awesome, but She-Ra just had this sense of awe and power that intrigued me. Strong in mind and body as well as possessing a compassionate heart and a sense of justice and independence, she's my hero. :D
My mom is my real life hero though. The way I am now, I owe part of it to her for she inspired me and gave me freedom to make my own decisions. :)

I have a lot of hero's. My father and mother are both hero's of mine for different reasons. They are both very loving, compassionate and supportive people.
Others:
Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan.

All right, I admit it..... Buffy was my hero for a while until I grew out of it ^_^'
Spider-Man too, and in real life, Vanessa Adams (www.eagle.ca/~cadams/lex.htm), and I can honestly say Frozen from this board. (Ahh, hope that won't make him shy/creeped out!) He's doing the kind of things I'd love to do in ten years or so. :)

As far as comicdom goes, Batman hands down. As for real life, this girl I work with is a true hero to me. She had cancer and was given six months to live. She was so determined to keep going though and now almost four years later it's pretty much all gone and she's one of the hardest working and nicest people up there... to be that way after going through that kind of ailment and such a negative situation is really inspiring...

My favorite comic book hero would have to be either Batman or Spider Man. It's awfully hard for me to choose between the two, tho!

VEGETA !
He may not be all that good at first, but he has the determination to be the best and has enormous will power and focus in his life.
Even after he is surpassed by someone he looks down on, even after he is defeated time and again, he keeps on reaching for his goal. And when he finally realized the mistakes he made in his life, he atones for them with his selfless actions.

Gotta admit, like flhero, I tend to be inspired by extraordinary acts from ordinary people--those who achieve goals through tenacity, heart, and intestinal fortitude.

My real hero is my mom...she's a wonderful person. I don't know if I have a fictional hero, though....hmmm....I'll have to think about that one!

My older sister. Though many times she makes me jealous. Heck, all the time she makes me jealous! But, then again, it was the *good* kind of jealousy; that I tried to reach as high a level as her.

Well, in made-up world, it's Batman, followed by Superman, then Spiderman. In real-life... i don't personally know anyone who has overcome any great feat, but i'd say anyone in general who does would be a hero in my book.

Yeah, the jealousy factor makes me reach for new heights too.

Well, I guess I don't really have a fictional hero, but my real life heroes I bet nobody's ever heard of. My first hero is Howard Carter, the Egyptologist who discovered the tomb of Tutankhamen back in 1922. I also admire the work that Zahi Hawass *my mom always cracks up at his last name ;)* does over in Egypt. He's made some important discoveries lately I think in Giza. I guess nobody's heard of the "Valley of the Golden Mummies," have they? :\
I guess everyone knows who's the nerd of the boards now...lol :p

hehehe
I also regard some of my family members as rolemodels (not exactly heroes, but close enough) for what I should be.

I don't have heroes.
Frankly, if they are doing something I want to do or be then I despise them with the utter most jealousy.
In fact I can't think of anyone I see that I adore. There are people I respect, people who do jobs or lifes I wouldn't want myself but appreciate the strengths they have to take such roles.
That could be a long list though.
And Spiderman is cool too...

In the comic book world it would be Spiderman, and in real life I don't really have heros or anything.

Alrighty...*I* am gonna sound like the nerdy one here. :o
I always liked the FINAL FIGHT 1 heros, and Sonic the Hedgehog. I kinda took them on to be my role models in trying to get into shape...I guess it worked, because now I'm in decent shape from being a truly fat kid (I weigh less now than I did in 6th grade...and I weigh 133 pounds now).

9/11. Firefighters...I knew one...father of a girl I attended school with...Police Officers....Port Authority....
As I went home from school that day, I looked back when the car was on the top of a mountain...nothing but dust.
How many unborn children will never know their fathers?
The true heros of 2001 were the ones that lost their lives and the ones who had to go on without them.

I think the members of the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania are true heroes.
They had the guts and the wit to figure out what the hijackers were doing, and to avert it.
Even when they knew they were going to die, they went out valiantly, saving the White House and possibly the President.

And Vegeta is an inspiration for me when it comes to working out, too. :) He trains like heck.

Blimey Nightflower... thanks... honestly, that is such a nice thing to say. It's a really wierd feeling to hear something like that from somebody I respect and like so much... Not freaky wierd - nice wierd. If there's a word to describe the kinda wierd it is, then I don't know it... Make any sense? Probably not...
Boy - if you could see the way I'm blushing right now... :)

OK, having now recovered my compsore, I can honestly say my heroes are my dadm who can do anything, and Alex Zanardi. Now, although I think flhero will know who I mean, I guess most of you won't have the faintest idea who Zanardi is...
Well, Zanardi is a racing driver, and multiple champ car champion, who had his legs ripped off in an horrendous accident this September whilst racing in Germany. Having nearly died at the scene of the accident, he was stabilised, and came out of a coma two weeks later to be told by his wife that he'd lost his legs. His responce - "I still have you and our son, and that's all that matters."
Two weeks later he'd discharged himeslf and drove home in a car with hand controls. Now he's walking again, and planning to make a racing comeback with prosthetic legs and hand controls. Amazing.

Not in the real world, Nightwing all the way!!! I'm sad, i know, but come on, he's hot, smart...hot, a great fighter, hot...I would say an anime character, but I love them all and it would be too hard to pick just one! As for real life, my parents of course, but my big sis all the way. She's six years older, and I think that's helped alot. She is this great medium between my mom and me, like a mom and teenager at the same time. She always knew what to do about guy and stupid girls and guys, and anything that I needed help on. Whether I appreciated it or not. She's the best big sis in the world, and I don't know of many people who say that about their siblings, but it's certainly true for me. I mean, how many big sisters would drive around their little sis and buy her things and let her sleep in her room like every night when she was little? well....I had to stop the sleeping thing because I'd sleep on the ground and there was always the chance she'd jump outta bed onto my head...but that's a whole other story!
