This is the talkback thread for "Kong: King of Atlantis" It's Disney Kong! (http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=7321).

I miss the badass Kong...

An actual musical Kong might actually be pretty funny though.

Gads, this sounds absolutely dreadful.

And I suspect that once Peter Jackson's version comes out, that'll make it look even worse.

I've been watching the reruns of Kong TAS on ABC Family, and it's just as forgettable as I remember it being when it was originally on years ago. The movie has songs? Nasty.

According to the news page, it'll appear on Toon Disney within two weeks. So you don't HAVE to buy it!

Has BKN ever produced anything good? Or anything anybody has ever watched at any point in history?

Mental note : Kirby Morrow and Scott Mcneil singing = age of the apocolypse

 No one was singing in the movie. I saw it on Toon Disney. They play the theme from the series.

^ Actually, I have seen some eps from that series, and there's no question it was thoroughly subpar.

But at least it didn't have any singing or know-it-all bikini babes.

Let me guess. King Kong gets captured and taken to Seaworld, where he kidnaps Ariel the Mermaid and climbs to the top of the local Long John Silvers. Yeah, it's dumb. But dumber than the premise of this toon? Don't think so.

It's junk like this that made the departure of Michael Eisner especially sweet for all true Disney fans. I mean, bringing back Kong for a poorly-animated/written toon was bad enough, but THIS... :ack::ack:

The english dub of Monster Rancher. It was my second favorite anime about 5 years ago (#1 was Digimon).

You may have watched the TV series. In this "film" there are three songs sung, including a tender duet (Bleagh!).

This film doesn't actually have anything to do with Disney. It just throws in a bunch of pseudo-Disney musical numbers.

I just watched this. Nothing spectacular, but it did leave me a bit confused. What's up with Kong & the human character being "brothers"? It seemed as if it were meant to be taken literally.
