(These updates and more, as usual, can be found on the Adult Swim Fansite (http://adultswim.toonzone.net).)

As the year draws to a close, Adult Swim has enjoyed considerable success. Pulling away from the Kids 6-11 bracket and drawing more and more adults(18-34) into the playing field, nearly all of the shows on the block have warranted their own cult followings, from Brak to Birdman, Spike to Stormy, Meatwad to McGuirk.

And the arrival of the 2002 year brings forth new shows. Some are familiar, and some are completely new, but there is definitely a show for everyones' tastes on the block. So here is the deal.

-- The Brak Show has been renewed for 12 more episodes, including a Christmas special. Sealab 2021 has been renewed for 13 more episodes, if not more before 2003 comes. Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast, a fan favorite, will continue onward into its eigth season, becoming the longest-running original series on Cartoon Network. Aqua fans, don't worry. Aqua Teen Hunger Force has been renewed as well.

-- January sees the debut of the WB animated sitcom, "Baby Blues". The show will have an opening 13 weeks to showcase the first season, but will then take a little break before returning with the second. Mike Lazzo, executive producer of the programming block, mentions that the network is very interested in producing more episodes for the show, but only if the show does well in the ratings.

-- January also brings forth BRAND NEW episodes of "Home Movies", once brought to you in Squigglevision, but now shown in Flashvision!

-- February will continue to showcase "Home Movies" and "Baby Blues", while new episodes of "Sealab 2021" and "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" will keep the AS veterans happy. There may be a sneak peak of a couple of other new shows as well..

(March through July are months that aren't completely mapped out quite yet.)

-- By July, you should be seeing more new programming, like "The Aquaman and Friends Hour", a traditionally-animated Williams Street show about the most useless superhero in the world, who gets no joy out of his job hosting a kids talk show(think PBS) or his "super" friends.

-- Other new programming includes "Mission Hill", another WB animated comedy by Josh Weinstein, a Simpsons veteran (back when it was really good, that is). The show was rated TV-18 in Canada, thus making the show Adult Swim's most risqué offering to date.

-- That is, if you don't also take "The Oblongs" into consideration. Yet another WB animated comedy saved from oblivion, the show is about a dysfunctional 'Addams Family'-esque family with many, many problems (the father lacks arms and legs, for example), and the world they have to deal with.

-- And there will be shorts! Shorts like "Rejected", a 9-minute collaboration of disturbing commercials, whose ideas were all at one point rejected by major conglomerates and networks. "Rejected" will air uncut, uncensored, and unedited!

-- And on top of that, there will be more wacky interstitals, like Aquaman Dance Party. Captain Linger has a few adventures left in the coming months, and who knows what else might appear? But trust us. You might want to use the elevator.
