I can see Brak and Baby Blues airing at the 9 o'clock hour, but why ATHF? That seems to be a level above the other two.

Zorak himself said that Aqua Teens would air at 9 pm, during "Sweet for Brak."

I think they should replace Cowboy Bebop with something else by April.

So, what's happening with Birdman? Are we going to see the Droopy and Shaggy eps? And when do we get new episodes? (I can see that he's back in Feb., but I think that you left Birdman info out of the News post)

Killtacular

The Shaggy episode should play in February. Droopy, maybe. "Una-booboo" is another story altogether.

Wow, Oblongs at 12! Dang! It was that crude?

Either Mission Hill or Oblongs will likely take the midnight spot.

I'm not sure which. It depends on what CN's standards are for the two shows.

Oblongs is quite sick, but not much more adult than the standard AS fare, which is why it would likely air earlier, with a TV-14 rating. Mission Hill, on the other hand, is much more mature and risqué than the usual AS fare (just look at some of the plots and alternate episode titles). Mission Hill was rated TV-18 in Canada, so it will likely get a TV-MA rating on CN. That's why I'm suggesting midnight.

If Mission Hill gets a TV-MA rating wouldn't it be weird? After all it was on WB primetime in the 8 o clock hour, right?

Besides aren't Canada's standards different from the US? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that some Simpsons episodes are rated TV-18 and Ren & Stimpy was rated TV-14.

What Droopy episode of HB:AAL?

So do we get Neo Genesis Evagleon/Trigun etc.?. Is Adult Swim going to be all comedy after so many runs of CB?

Yeah, but remember, you're dealing with a block that thinks Sealab should be TV-14, but Sealab on any other network could air as early at 7 pm itself. At TV-PG.

All I know is that it involved a bombing and wasn't shown as a result of Sept. 11. I assume that UnaBooBoo has a similar problem.

Actually, Canada is more leanient when it comes to ratings television shows. The Simpsons is always rated TV-PG up here. As for Ren & Stimpy, for some reason, Teletoon has given that show a TV-14 rating and airs it at midnight. Teletoon also rates the entire Teletoon Adult: Teletoon Unleashed block with TV-18, even though some episodes don't deserve it. But Mission Hill does have it's risque moments, but I think it should get a rating of TV-14. Mission Hill is a great show, though. I'm glad you folks are finally gonna be able to see it.

Are they gonna start CB from episode 1 after The Real Folk Blues aires again, or are they gonna stop showing it?? I hope they start at the beggining again, cause I'm wanna tape it.

The Oblongs was a great show, and it wasn't very bad... although they did say during WB primetime the following show is not intended for children and they should go to bed... or something like that before the oblongs... I think Mission Hill and the Oblongsshould switch TIme SLots. :bosko: bosko rocks.

If Cowboy Bebop is going to be replaced, do you think it may be another anime show?
Maybe Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Killtacular
01-04-2002, 01:03 PM
Heh, the day Evangelion airs on television is the day Kellner apologizes about cancelling Freakazoid.

Sorry to be dumb, but are these times EST?

Leaping Larry Jojo

It will probably be a Bandai or Pioneer show that replaces Cowboy Bebop. I'm betting Love Hina (a "love" comedy) is one of the top candidates.

Zorakfan
01-06-2002, 01:31 AM
i'd wager love hina IS the top choice, and probably the next adult anime we see on AS (provided they have another, which they should.)

DougGoneMAD
01-06-2002, 12:18 PM
I thought they weren't going to show anything TV14 before 11. Mission Hill can't be on at 10:30 if that's still the case.

Killtacular
01-06-2002, 03:21 PM
Love Hina isn't coming to Adult Swim.

Williams Street hasn't even had time to pin down an anime yet, but the next anime to be on the block will be from ADV Films (at least, that's what I'm led to believe).

Bandai and FUNi have no better odds than any other company at getting into Adult Swim.

So what exactly are Mission Hill and The Oblongs about? I've never heard of them before.

Bandai sure wants Love Hina on TV, though. The dub I watched the other day on the DVD release is specifically toned down from the original--it's less racy, and the dialogue is obviously tailored for a wider audience.

ADV Films? I guess I can't ask where you get all this info from?

I think they should raplace cowboy beebop with the iriginal un-edited episodes of the Big O since it is from the same creators and of the same mood and in my opinion the same level.

Killtacular
01-09-2002, 01:20 AM
Big O was for teenagers and preteens in Japan, wasn't it?

I don't think that works with Adult Swim.

Toonami didn't really edit it THAT much. They took out the small amount of language and maybe cut a little of the violence, but the show is perfect for Toonami.

My only qualm was the editting of the Christmas episode. That was just wrong.

Zorakfan

Yeah! Where was the grinch? They must have dubbed him as a yule terrorist.

Wait...what the hell was I watching?

Actually it was quite the oposite from what I have seen of the unedited DVD version. There was a suprising amount of gun play and hand to hand combat that they edited out. All around it was a really good show. The only kiddy element about it was the giant robots.

aw man, I have to sit through the Oblongs to get to cowboy bebop? I personally hated The Oblongs.

I hope they get some more anime stuff, it adds to the divercity

They better not take cowboy bebop off before i finish the series. im currently trying to view episodes 22and up. Having it still on during the summer wood help a lot cause I wouldn't have skool the next day. You should never compare Big O to Cowboy Bebop. I was very disappointed with the big 0 because it seemed like a japenese (well it is japenese, even if the characters are drawn like caucasians) batman. The car, the butler, it felt like a batman spinoff with a giant robot and a twisted plot.
I hope that they replace Cowboy Bebop with an equally good anime, like Neon Genesis Evangelion or Trigun (which is along the same lines, except 100 times more funny and 50 times less serious).

I've heard rumors that Patlabor has been moved from toonami to AS as the new anime... I've seen some eps of Patlabor and didnt think it was all that bad.

Does anyone know if there is truth to this?

Gromit

Haven't heard anything about Patlabor being on AS.

The Patlabor movies are great, haven't seen any of the series.

Hey? How come you are only showing Adult Swim Comedy Schedule? Isn't that Adult Swim Action is still part of Adult Swim. Show us some schedule for Adult Swim Action.

Killtacular
02-21-2002, 03:45 PM
If you want the ASAction schedule, read the schedules for February or March.

I don't have any way of knowing what else will air in that block outside of that.

Patlabor is on Toonami Reactor right now and it wont go to Adult Swim, I don't even think CN has tv rights to the show.
