For everyone catching on to the "Lord of the Rings" fever
sweeping fandom...

If watching LOTR has left you for a craving for a great
thick fantasy saga , but you've already read LOTR
I highly recommend

Raymond E. Feist's The Riftwar Saga.

A four book saga
which begins with Magician :Apprentice
followed by Magician :Master

I know this may be blasphemy , but as much as I love
LOTR and credit it for my interest in fantasy .. I
have to admit I find MAGICIAN infinitely more satisfying
and re-readable.

Give it a try.. for those of you whove read it and would like to
discuss it here - please lets do so .

If anyone would like a brief plot outline .. post the request ..
otherwise look it up on Amazon.Com.

If everyone starts pitching in to this thread, this could go on for years. There are literally millions of fantasy sagas out there, and everyone will have their own recommendations.

That said, I did like Feist's earlier Riftwar books.

i like the Riftwar Saga better than LotR. has anyone read Feist's Serpentwar Saga or his Riftwar Legacy books?

I did. I didn't find them as engaging as the earlier books. I think he's milked that world long enough.
