I saw this at pwinsider.com:

"Pro wrestler Ric Flair faces assault charges after a road rage incident on I-485 in Charlotte.

Another driver says Flair attacked him and his car."

The scary thing is, I can imagine Ric Flair doing something like that. he does get that temper sometimes.

No real surprise. I'm actually more amazed that there aren't more incidents like this given how much time the wrestlers spend on the road.

I don't think I have ever heard anything about my all-time favorite WWF wrestler getting arrested. I hope he will be okay..

I guess this further proves all of the people out there that say Ric doesn't have the fire and can't still go.

I hope he's ok. Ric needs to tone it down a little.

Told my dad, and he wasn't surprised.

He met Ric back in the 80's, working at a convenience store. He says Ric was quite drunk at the time.

Ric actually lives his gimmick.

Ric actually lives his gimmick. That's not exactly a good thing. Anyhow, I hope he's okay and that this doesn't get any worse than it already is.

NOVEMBER 29--Wrestler Ric "The Nature Boy" Flair surrendered this morning to North Carolina cops on misdemeanor charges that he throttled a fellow motorist during a road rage incident last week on Interstate 485. The 56-year-old Flair (real name: Richard Fliehr) was booked this morning at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office, where the below mug shot was snapped. Flair, who allegedly grabbed a Charlotte man by the throat and kicked (and dented) the guy's Toyota during the November 23 confrontation, posted $1000 bond and was released. According to an arrest warrant, after roughing up Robert Steele, Flair told him that he "had his tag number and should knock the **** out of him." Flair is facing simple assault and battery and injury to personal property charges.http://www.thesmokinggun.com/graphics/art3/1129051ric1.jpg

I hope Ric is able to get this all sorted out. I'm guessing the courts will give him anger management sessions and some community service. Hopefully it doesn't take him out of action for too long.

Ric looks like he just got done with a fight. Is that nose cut from the Road Rage or HHH?

Well if you read his book "To Be The Man," he definitely hasn't been the best person to drive along side the road with. He's had multiple tickets, DUI charges, etc.

Yes and even in his book he stated back then he "lives his gimmick." Towards the end he made it sound like he was going to calm it down a little (except in the ring) but I'm not quite sure if that's true. He's a great wrestler but yeah, at this age he should calm down a little bit. Hopefully we won't hear anymore reports of DUIs.

WWE reporting this is kind of stupid. They were hard-selling Ric Flair's injuries from the last man standing match during most of RAW, but now they report a story which makes it look like he felt fine enough to kick some guy's ass on the interstate. :p

Man, you think I would have heard of this sooner because I live just south of Charlotte. Anyway, I guess Ric just needs to control his anger, or get smarter, as the police are all over Mecklenburg county, but boy does he look crappy in that mugshot.

But his arrest occured two days before Survivor Series.

But his arrest occured two days before Survivor Series. No, the incident was before Survivor Series. Flair was at Survivor Series and may have been present at the RAW tapings. He surrendered today and that's when they took his picture.

Actually, it's the fact that hardly anyone ever smiles in them.... not to mention that people are usually pretty disheveled after an arrest.

(Though I have seen some people smile for them... it does help.)

It's a combination of lighting, background, etc... specifically designed to make every flaw you have stand out.

Every once in awhile, you get a good one, though...

Looks like there's more to the Flair issue than we thought.

Professional wrestler Ric Flair is facing more accusations of violence. His soon-to-be ex wife said he abused her.

Flair is out on bond after being charged with assaulting a man on a Charlotte road.

In May, his wife, Beth, filed for divorce claiming Ric slapped, kicked, choked, and bit her. She also alleges both steroid and alcohol abuse.

Also in the court papers were Ric's legal responses to Beth's claims.

He says that his wife had assaulted him more than once, "striking him about the head and body." He also said he "feared for his phyisical and emotional safety."

But those allegations Ric made agaist his wife Beth this past August are in stark contrast to what he wrote in his autobiography. "To Be The Man" was published just last year. In Chapter 10 he says, "I'm lucky to be her husband". He ends his book saying, "Beth has endured more than a woman should." He continued, saying he planned "on spending the rest of his life proving to her that diamonds are forever."

This doesn't look good for the Nature Boy.:(

I wonder if his WWE career is in jeopardy because of this. The most telling thing here is "Steroid abuse."

Ric definitely looked bad on that picture. I recently read that he's going through a divorce (or that Ric's wife wanted one). Not a good time to be "The Nature Boy."

And it just keeps getting worse for Flair.

Pro wrestler Ric Flair has been pinned by the IRS over back taxes and is fighting a nasty divorce battle with his wife.

Flair, one of Charlotte's best-known celebrities, owed the federal government $1 million in 1997, according to a statement from his accountant. The IRS began garnishing Flair's wrestling salary this year, seizing more than $200,000 so far.
It goes on for a bit, but here's the worrying part career-wise for him

Flair also says he's concerned about his future in wrestling.

"I am 56 years old," the star writes, "working in a business that demands physical fitness and is dominated by performers much younger than I.

"There is no guarantee that even next year, I will be employed."
Source: Charlotte Observer (http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/entertainment/gossip/13307913.htm)

It'll be pretty sad if this is how his career does end. Flair is still a top-draw in the business and could probably get by on a number of indy appearances locally or going to Japan, but he wouldn't make anywhere near as much as he did in WWE.

Hmmmm, I wonder if Flair was the wrestler who was hinted at being on "deathwatch" by the Pwtorch.

That is very bad news for the Nature Boy. The legal woes keep on coming.
