Me neither, Toonmaster. I'm waiting till Saturday to go shopping. My Dad's pointing a card show we could go to this weekend and with that we might go Christmas shopping.
Captain Harlock, you must have awaken up at 5 a.m. to go for the early bird specials. Where did you Wal-Mart, Best Buy?

Fry's
-Wifi Adapter - $10
-1 GB ThumbDrive - $35
-.hack//legend vol 2&3 - $20
-Home Movies s.3 - $23
-10 cup rice cooker - $7
Linens and Things
-Heated Massage Neck Pillow - $20
-Table Cloth - $10
Only thing I missed out on was a $37 3.1MP Digital Camera at Fry's. Probably would have had to get even earlier, and I felt bad enough dragging my mom along at that time of day.

Once again, my father went all out and bought a lot of stuff as Xmas gifts for the family (including me) at Best Buy.
Meanwhile, I bought the following items during my Black Friday shopping spree through various stores:
-Live 8 DVD box set
-Family Guy t-shirt
-Dragon Warrior VIII
-Apples to Apples card game

Haha, you'll never catch me out in the stores today. Ignoring the fact that I have no money, I don't think I could handle all the people. As much as I like shopping during the holiday season, today is just a little much, even for me.

Was at Circuit City at 5AM when it opened, got to Best Buy at 6:15AM. There probably would have been stuff around 9-10AM, but I wanted to get it over with asap.
sounds like you spent a lot of money.
True, but it was all stuff I was going to eventually buy post Christmas. Just looking at the normal price of the items on sale, what I spent was significantly lower. You figure that the season sets of The Shield and 24 are $48 / 24 are $52, so just buying 3-4 of them at regular price would have been the same price as the entire list of what I bought today. But I got 10 items more for the same price. Judging by the sales and the normal price, I saved about $244.

I still have to go to Best Buy, but I went to the mall, and Target, and only ended up with a CD. I'm planning to make most of my gifts this year because of a tiny budget.

It was insane at the Garden State Plaza, people parked their cars where cars shouldn't be parked(like on grass) and they also had doubled parked, some people just left their cars in the middle of the road and ran to the stores and thusly blocked entrances and exits. The staff at many of the stores had to play ref, alot of the shoppers were just crazy.
Secaucus Best Buy was the same situation as was the one near TRU on 17....I did not even bother to check the Bergan Mall near another TRU on Rt 4.

I've deliberately stayed home, although I pondered venturing out and looking for a deal on a new printer for my computer. Anyone see any deals on something like that out in the marketplace today?

Well, the only thing I purchased for myself was at Wal-Mart, and it was the Ghostbusters movies. I arrived at the store at 4:45 AM (every major sale item was covered in plastic before it was time, because my Wal-Mart is open 24/7). My dad picked up several things there. Later, we headed for Best Buy (arrived at around 6:30 AM). We were looking for that 5 MP digital camera, but it was out, so we bought one similar to it (though it was a bit more expensive -- got a $25 gift card for it, though) -- the camera was for my mom. I picked up DVDs my brother wanted. I got $10 card for free (they had this contest, where you win something for standing on the number that was announced). Then, it was to the mall. I bought a few things from Suncoast, and I bought some items from Kirkland's. Once I arrived home at around noon, I went straight to sleep through 6 PM.

The Wal-Mart in my area wasn't nearly as packed as I thought it would be. Still a fairly-sized crowd, but much of the discount merchandise (and parking) was readily available. I picked up ABBA's Greatest Hits there.
Went to Gamestop and took advantage of their buy-two-get-one-free deal and bought DVDs of Pokemon Heroes, Superman: The Movie, and Superman III.
In a somewhat related story, I recieved in the mail The Powerpuff Girls: Meet The Beat-Alls.

My brother and I went to Circuit City at 5AM (opening time). It was ridiculously overcrowded, and by the time we got in, we couldn't find any of the items we were looking for. So after vowing never to return, we went to Target at 6AM (opening time). Target was so much nicer than Circuit City. Nicer store, much less crowded, so much more stuff. Got Simpsons Season 6, Family Guy Vol. 2, and the Family Guy movie that I've been waiting so long to see. Unrelated to the sale, I picked up a small Hot Wheels-sized Batmobile that came with a little Batman for display on my desk. It was like, 2-something bucks. Then we went to Best Buy. I picked up Catch Me If You Can (3.99) and, unrelated to the sale, Love Actually (9.99). I used two $3 coupons I had leftover from McDonald's, and both movies ended up costing me less than $10. My brother got Apollo 13. Then, we stopped by Toys R Us. They were all out of Battle Shells (the present-day version of the Turtle Van, or "Party Wagon," as the toy was called in the 90's). The Battle Shell would have been marked down from $20 to $10. I'm not sure if I would have gotten it, but maybe it's best that I didn't have the option. I got a decent deal on some Star Wars and Batman wrapping papers (I seem to really go through wrapping papers) and my brother got Transformers wrapping paper, a Shredder action figure to do battle with his Michelangelo, and The Incredibles DVD he'd been looking for at Circuit City. I don't know why all these details are necessary, but I'm sure one of you enjoyed reading about it.
sounds like you spent a lot of money. You could see it this way. But in cases like mine (and I'm sure Captain Harlock's), these are all items I was planning on buying sometime within my lifetime. And today, they were at their cheapest. Usually, I hold off on buying something I really want because I'm waiting for a deal. I stupidly missed my chance for Batman Begins, so I'm keeping vigil for that. Although, if the night ever comes when I simply must have it, I will end up paying full price. I'm sure you're all the same way. Humans are funny like that.

I didnt attend Black Friday Madness but my Mom and brother did. They went to Wall-Mart first at 6AM.
If anyone ever shop on RT 22 near North Plainfield,NJ there's this big shopping center that has Wallmart, Target, Models, Borders, a Shop and Stop supermarket, Old Navy, Pier 1, DSW Shoes, Marshalls, the Home Depot, Gamestop and a bunch of other little stores. Most of the big stores on on top of this hill where Wallmart was and at the top my mom described seeing lots of people with bags running around from store to store.
She said she stopped at Wallmart first. At six it was mad crowded so they went to Target. It was crowded but less crazy compared to Wallmart. They got a Leximark Printer, a Light Bright toy for my cousin, a PS2 Controler and a DVD player.
Today I went with Mom to Macy's and she got 2 pocketbooks for herself, one for my great aunt, I got 2 Tommy hillfigure sirts under 100 bucks and we got something for my brother.
Next year I'm planning on doing Black Friday and this time I'm going to go in early instead of sleeping in. (Uhh...maybe reasonably early...):D

Just thought I'd bring this up since it's related
Many of the major chain retailers(Best Buy, Circut City, Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, etc.) always have better sales closer to the holidays. Black Friday essentialy is overrated, all it does it mark the unoffcial begining of the shopping season, however towards the end of the shopping season that's when there are real sales, and stuff is marked 70-90% off. Also to note all of the retailers pretty much get daily or every other day shipments of merchendise because this is when they make the majority of their profit. So the sales they hold contain items that you'd actualy want, and not picked over junk.

I'm glad that I ordered my stuff online instead of going to those stores with lots of crowds!
Anyway, I ordered some DVDs and CDs from Amazon.com and Amazon.com's market place yesterday (11-26-05).
Here's what I ordered for those who are curious.
DVDs:
The Simpsons The Complete Fifth Season
The Simpsons Christmas 2
The King Kong Collection
CDs:
Only Dance: 1985-1989
#1 Hits 1985-1989
Pop Music: The Modern Era 1976-1999
Hot Moves
Luckily, my parents are going to pay for some of these items as early birthday presents for me (My birthday's on December 15).
I hope that I receive them soon!

I had to work on Black Friday (I work at a restaurant) and it was hell. The place was packed throughout my entire shift and, worst of all, I was the only hostess there!
So, obviously, I was in no mood to go shopping afterwards.

I would have gone out, but none of the sales really appealed to me. I was thinking of picking up a couple of $4 Adam Sandler DVDs at Best Buy, but couldn't be bothered to get up really early just for that.
