I don't know if this happened to others, but my copy of UXM were double covered (one cover over another). I didn't even notice until I opened the comic. Anyway, I liked this issue more than the last few involving Lady Deathstrike, it was crazy to see Lorna lose control of her powers and unable to stop the massacre of those guys. It will be interesting to see what happens when the X-men get involved, and showing Magneto can't be a good thing.

I do like that Magneto is back but I just wonder if this is too soon. Perhaps the writer is trying to get one last good Magneto story out of the way before Bryan Singer takes over the title for a year. And I do wish the interiors matched the excellent cover art. The interiors are nice but there always beens to be a gap of quality between the interiors and cover art done by the same artist.

Vaughn's run is not what I expected. The pacing bores me, and Polaris losing control of her power felt forced. I hope Magneto isn't Polaris's father -- like in 616.

The artwork could be better. This arc has potential, but the pacing and art must improve.

THE STORY: "MAGNETIC NORTH" Part 2 (of 5). The master of magnetism is proving to be just as deadly and manipulative within his cell as he was while a free man. And now Magneto has set his sights on the young mutant Alex Summers – the effect on the team of X-Men will be devastating.

That's a silly lookig cover, Magneto doens't look like he's sitting on anyhting, let alone intimidating in ANY way.

I loved the issue just as much as I'm loving BKV and SI's whole run. It was great seeing all the new characters introduced this issue. Especially Mystique! I was so shocked to see her at the end; I literally jumped out of my seat! I shouldn't have been so surprised though! The seeds were planted last ish. This issue had a great ensemble of characters and everyone got a fair amount of pagetime. BKV's good at that. We got Lorna, Northstar, Cannonball, Doug Ramsey, Sunspot, Havok, Emma, Magneto, Wanda, Fury, and Longshot, not to mention the whole X-team! That makes me happy.

And as always I loved SI's art. (Though I'll admit that cover's not so great )

Good issue; I think this story arc is shaping up nicely. What I really love about BKV's Ultimate run is that he's bringing back characters that were introduced and then tossed to the side and is actually doing something with them. The cliffhanger took me by surprise, but then again, the seeds for this revelation were planted last issue.

I dug it. I agree the BKV's run has been awesome. He's doing a great joc with all the characters and I'm really phycied to see where this arc is going. I'm really enjoying it so far. I suppose I should have known that Mystique would show up. I wondering how she'll be different than the 616 Mystique, other than she got busy with Prof. X.

THE STORY: “MAGNETIC NORTH” Part 3 of 5. It’s mutant against mutant—brother against brother—as Cyclops and his X-Men risk their lives to take down the young man known as Havok, who has unwittingly become a pawn in Magneto’s deadly game. Plus, an unexpected appearance by another hero from the Ultimate Universe turns the dangerous situation from bad to worse.

No one has anything to say? I picked this up yesterday and I thought it was handled well. It's about time SHEILD and the X-Men broke off ties. Fury is so quick to pass judgment, like he's on a constant power trip. So long Angel. I figured the writers would come up with something to narrow the roster. At least they didn't kill him off.

I loved this arc. I felt that this particular issue wasn't as exciting as it could have been. I'm really going to miss Vaughan and Immonen.

I would have liked to see this team leave on a stonger arc, but it's wasn't a bad issuse or arc. It just could have better.
I don't know who to hate more sometimes the X-Men or Fury. There are times I'm like stupid X-Men just let the Ultimates handle it. While at the same time Fury's such a jerk sometime. But either way I love to hate them.
I wondering if Magneato's going to start Meteor M? That seems like what the next big Magneato arc will be.
